FLY FISHING FOR BASS & PANFISH
BIKE FISHING ON THE YOUGH
Join Dale and Cyndi Kotowski of Chestnut
Ridge Trout Unlimited for a day of fly fishing
on Slippery Rock Creek. We’re going to log
some time on the water with an experienced
instructor team, practicing and learning new
ways to finesse our fly presentation. This trip
takes place entirely on the water and focuses
on catching the powerful smallmouth bass of
Slippery Rock Creek, though trout may be
active as well.
The major hatches have come and gone but
there are still trout to be caught and released
from the banks of the mighty Youghiogheny.
Summertime is terrestrial time: hoppers,
crickets, ants, and beetles, and surprisingly, a
number of consistent hatches of aquatic
insects. We will bike along the 9–mile stretch
of the Great Allegheny Passage trail between
Ramcat Rapids and Ohiopyle and access the
river from points that get very little fishing
pressure. This outing will examine the whats
and whens of late summer and fall hatches
and we will target both trout and bass. Bike
rentals are not included in the fee, but are
available to rent in Ohiopyle.

“
My goals for the class were different than most as I’ve been an
active climber for some time. I wanted to focus on anchors
and safety rather than the actual climbing. I was definitely able
to do so with the team.
Book our climbing wall for your next
event! Our 24-foot climbing wall is
great for community celebrations,
corporate events, and school functions!
