DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
A CPAT TESTING CENTER IS NEAr YOU
CPAT Testing Centers are strategically located throughout California
to provide easy access for our firefighter candidates. You may take
the test at any of our three locations in Orange, Livermore
or Sacramento.
Can you carry 25 pounds of hose up five flights of stairs while
wearing 50 pounds of protective equipment? Do you have the
strength to drag a 165-pound victim 70 feet to safety?
Find out by taking the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT),
offered by the California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee
(CFFJAC). With the clock ticking, this comprehensive test evaluates
your physical ability to complete eight critical firefighting tasks.

Completion. This card is accepted as
proof of your physical ability by over
100 fire departments in California.
The registration fee includes two orientation sessions and the CPAT
itself. Timed practice runs are also available each week for a nominal
fee so you can prepare for the CPAT and take it when you are ready.
