MISSION STATEMENT
The Brewcity Bruisers is an athletic
organization of women and volunteers that
fosters strong women and active engagement
with their community. Our mission is to deliver
a quality women’s sport to Milwaukee and
the greater derby community. The Brewcity
Bruisers offer opportunities for positive change
in women’s physical, social and mental health.
The Brewcity Bruisers physically and financially
support the greater Milwaukee community.
ABOUT THE LEAGUE
The Brewcity Bruisers were founded in October
of 2005. Composed of four home teams: Crazy
8s, Shevil Knevils, Rushin’ Rollettes, and Maiden
Milwaukee; two interleague teams: the Brewcity
Bruiser All-Stars and Battlestars; and a team of
dedicated support staff, the BCB boasts nearly
100 members. The BCB became a member of
the Women’s Flat track Derby Association in
2008. In 2010 the league began hosting bouts
at the U.S. Cellular Arena after outgrowing
their original home at the Milwaukee County
Sports Complex in Franklin, Wisconsin. In that
same year, the Brewcity Bruisers held the first
annual Midwest BrewHaHa tournament and
have hosted teams from across the country in
this three day roller derby event. In addition
to becoming a non-profit organization, they
also formed a recreational league, the Brewcity
Bootleggers in 2011. The Micro Bruisers,
BCB’s junior team began training in 2012 and
were accepted into the Junior Roller derby
Association in 2013.

Registration
Registration will be held on Thursday evening
at Hilton Milwaukee, at which time skaters,
officials, and other credentialed participants
will complete required paperwork and receive
their tournament credentials.
Credentials must be worn at all times in
order to obtain access to the venue and to
participant-only areas. There is a $30 fee to
replace lost or stolen credentials.
Track Floor,
Warm-Up Space,
and Warm-Up Times
“The U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee is smooth,
consistently grippy concrete. As a medium-sized
blocker/jammer, I use backspin 93s (purple) or
bullets (mid 90s) and have grip when I need it
for jamming and slide when I need it for blocking
(plows and hockey stops).”
-Grace Killy, Brewcity Bruisers, WFTDA Ex Officio
Medical Assistance
The WFTDA Emergency Action Plan requires
the WFTDA, as tournament host, to provide
trained, certified emergency medical
responders should an injury occur on the track.
Only the WFTDA provided EMTs may go onto
the track or players benches to access or treat
a skater or official. Once removed from the
playing area, if the skater or official wishes
to use their own medical provider, s/he may
refuse additional treatment.
Team Rooms
There are four built-in locker rooms and these
will be assigned based on the tournament
schedule. Please note these rooms will be
shared by all teams. Please leave the team
rooms in better condition than you found them.
There will be a designated area for officials as
well as for announcers and photographers. Please
clean up after yourselves as there are quite a
large number of you using a shared space.
The venue will be open by 8:00 AM Friday
morning for credentialed participants. Skaters
and officials who wish to test the floor may do
so from 9:00 AM to noon.
There is a large warm-up area just off of the
arena floor. This area has pillars, therefore only
non-contact drills will be permitted. Teams will
be allowed to warm up on the regulation track
during the half-time of the game prior to their
own, as well as in the 20-30 minutes before the
start of their bout.

responsibility for the possible risk of injury to
you, or damage and/or destruction to your

Turner Hall Restaurant
(1038 North 4th Street)
Located one block North of our venue Turner
Hall Restaurant offers good beer and local
food. The clubhouse (one of their dining areas)
became a gathering place with décor including
unique murals, stained glass and architectural
details. On the other side of the venue you can
expect a DJ with an area for dancing as well as
a place to sit and have a conversation.
Saturday & Sunday
Turner Hall Ballroom
(1032 North 4th Street)
Constructed in 1882, this national historical
landmark began as a showplace for panoramic
painters and immigrant artists who dominated
the Milwaukee art scene throughout the early
1900’s. Located in the heart of downtown, one
block north of our venue on the East side of the
street, the 7,000 square foot ballroom offers two
bars, and plenty of space to dance and enough
versatility to sit and chat amongst friends.
