PROFESSION: Certificated Mountain Guide
David is a mountain man. He has been always in a close relationship
with Nature.
Born in a little village in Catalonia, close to the sacred mountain of
Montserrat. He starts climbing at the age of thirteen and sooner
realize that rock climbing full fill him more than any other sport that he
ever tried before.
Pyrenees mountains gave to him a perfect playground to discover in
this early years, ski mountaineering first and freeride snowboarding
later, begun a major passions for him.
On the search for the perfect line down, he starts climbing and riding
on the high mountains, the Alps, South America, and later the
Himalayas and Alaska. Those mountains captive him and organize
several expeditions at 8000’s meter peaks.
At the present David is a Certificated UIAGM Mountain Guide, and
he has his own Mountain Guiding Company “Guías Benasque” in the
beautiful village of Benasque, Pyrenees.

climbing with my friends….we still have so much things to do.”

Beside competitions, my motivations and
goals where focused on the big mountains
around the world, some of them were
possible some of theme where not…
From 1995 since today David has been looking for new challenges to bring his
Snowboard up high, if it’s possible, always to the top.

I have been focused in Splitboarding the lasts 5 years, I
will be following that way.

The promotion of my current co-sponsors in media
coverage (Jones Sb, Adidas)
•
Split technical week courses. I will do it around
Pyrenees in association with the first web/magazine
about Splitboard in Spain www.splitboard.cat
•
As a preparation for a series of Splitboard trips, I will do
with clients and a photographer a Split touring in
Pyrenees
(Alta ruta ) which will be publish on specialized Mags
and Regional TV.
•
Following with the preparation, on Spring 2012 I will
lead a Splitboard group on the “Alta Ruta” ChamonixZermatt. A 7 days trip across 3 countries to reach the
foot of Matterhorn.
•
Indian Himalayas 2013 will be the next step to follow. A
splitboard tour in the Kashmir region. Filmmakers are
welcome!
•
This winter 2012 will star the first Ice climbing and
Freeride festival Valle de Benasque. Organized for
Guías Benasque. 4 day meeting about ice/tooling
climbing and a Freeride competition part of the series
af Freeride Pirineos.
•
The Heliboarding is part of my job as a mountain
guide. Working as part of the staff of Pyrenees Heliski,
based in La Vall d’Aran, I will easy promote the line of
TNF snowboarding with clients.
•
Also we have already compromised with snowplanet
magazine a 10-12 pages report about
Heliboarding/ski in Vall d’Aran for the next winter 2013

From 2002 to 2008 in collaboration with the
Norwegian brand Helly Hansen, I have done
several freeride and mountain technical
courses
“The Summit Camps”
also in
different years other initiatives came up as a
free freeride camps the “Freetour HH”.

Collaborations and interviews with Spanish
and European Magazines; Solosnowboard,
Surferule, Riderevolution, Onboard, Outside,
Outdoor, Desnivel, sports life, etc… he wrote
several opinion and technique articles about
Snowboard, Splitboard and Mountain.
•
From 2004 to 2006, two years of international
contract with Dynastar Snowboard as a
freerider (Sallanches) Video part on freeride
international movie “Family affairs”
•
From 2006 to 2007 with the French ski and
snowboard brand, Rossignol, has been in
charge of logistic of “Demo Tour”, a circuit of
Snowboard exhibitions in different ski fields
around Spain .
•
On those last years David has been focused
on his work as a Mountain Guide. In
collaboration with Jones Snowboards and
Splitboard.cat and his own company he is
developing and doing specifics technical
courses for Splitboarders who want to learn
more about safety and technical skills for the
touring backcountry.

Always pushing the limits on the mountain,
he is active collaborator of magazines as
Snowplanet, Desnivel, Campo Base, Outdoor
