By tapering the corners away from windows, the occupant will also have optimal views to the street and maximum solar access. 1200mm PODIUM APARTMENT LEGEND J J 7k n • - DAYLIGHT ACCESS DAYLIGHT SPREAD KEY PLAN PODIUM 14172_72-94 CAMBRIDGE STREET, COLLINGWOOD_21 MARCH 2016 PODIUM APARTMENT_ONE ELENBERG FRASER BEDROOM PODIUM APARTMENT_TWO BEDROOM RFI_URBAN CONTEXT REPORT 49 PODIUM FACADE r The podium facade comprises of a series of operable mesh screens. With the direct interface to Cambridge Street, residents have the option of opening / closing terrace areas for user-controlled visual privacy. Derived from the architectural concept, the perforation pattern increases in porosity as it moves towards the top of the podium. This in turn responds to the need for increased privacy as we get closer to the Ground level. L. Externally, curved, solid corner forms help to accentuate the separation of the four tower forms. Internally, these elements resolve the privacy issues that would be present in the recesses, whilst providing a vantage view point for the bedrooms behind. As a non-trafficable area, it offers residents a high level of amenity without the requirement for privacy screens. Residents from East-facing apartments enjoy their own private landscaped outlook, acting as a visual extension to their private outdoor space. By integrating a landscaped zone through the site, the hanging gardens provide an additional connection to the adjacent reserve.
