Salvaged from the aircraft crash on 25 Dec 1954 at Prestwick Airport. The letter received a boxed three line purple cachet SALVAGED MAIL / AIRCRAFT CRASH / PRESTWICK 25-12-54 (on both side). Give away !$200.00 Page 21 / 22 Item 172-29 – Lt Leamy of Ottawa, Wartime correspondence – 375+ letters – This lot contains the near complete WWII correspondence to and from Lt Walter Leamy of the 1st Canadian Engineer Reinforcement Unit. The lot contains 163 various airmail form letters from Lt Leamy to his wife in Ottawa and members of his family between the time he was sent to England in Jan45 until May46. Also included are 201 various airmail form letters from that period addressed to Lt LEamy from friends and family in Canada and a couple from friends in the service. Also included are 3 letters (no envelope) written on Canadian Chaplain Service letterhead, 2 on Active Service letterhead and one on Camp Borden HQ letterhead. Various blackout, military and censor markings seen throughout.
