THE
RIDE MAKES
Rocky Mountain is most famous for making some of the finest mountain
bikes in the world for over thirty years, but we’ve been making great
road and urban bikes just as long. We started way back in 1981 with
our Turbo and Giro road models because we identified ways we could
improve on the status quo. It’s a formula that’s been magic ever since
with all of the bikes we make. Under riders ranging from Olympians to
weekend warriors, each of our pavement bikes has a unique purpose and
story. Since day one our goal has been to make the best bicycles in the

SOLO RSL
With a brand new super high modulus carbon frame and
updated race geometry, there’s a lot to say about the
2013 Solo RSL. Using only the best quality carbon fiber
in a high-density layup, the Solo RSL is lighter and stiffer
than ever. While laterally stiff, the Solo RSL’s slender seat
stays and 27.2mm seatpost give the vertical compliance
required on epic rides and rough pavement. Whether
you’re training to be the next Giro d’Italia superstar, or

No matter what kind of bike, nothing matters more
than great fit. With a slightly longer wheelbase and a
more upright position than our Solo RSL, the Prestige’s
Performance Fondo Geometry delivers race performance
and technology to the Fondo rider. In addition, we made
vertical compliance a top priority with the Prestige; its
super slender seat stays and 27.2mm seat post smooth
out the roughest mountain roads.

employees and team riders have
battled it out with the best in the
world on our own home turf.

to the brutally difficult Mont
Megantic climb, the Tour de Beauce
exemplifies everything that a great
race should be.

Olympian
The Feeling of Freedom
Sport is my attitude to life and I have had the chance to experience
a lot of different sports during my career. I started with cross
country skiing – my first “real” love – before I discovered road
biking. Is there anything better than cruising though the streets in
summer with a road bike, tasting the sweat mixed with dust
and feeling the heat reflecting by the asphalt? It’s the feeling of
freedom - not caught up in traffic, no traffic jams and no speed
limits. There is no better way to experience your surroundings; a bike lets you get out and see things you would never see by car
or on foot.
The Olympic Games are the pinnacle for road cycling. The
qualification criteria for participating at the games is really hard.
Just making the qualification is a huge accomplishment for any
athlete, and I call myself lucky to be participating again at these
Games.
On that special day in London with my Rocky Mountain Solo RSL,
I will try to reflect with gratitude on the last 20 years I have
experienced on both road and mountain bikes. I will try to enjoy
every moment of the race and give my best.
