The GREENGUARD ® Indoor Air Quality certification program provides independent third-party verification for low emitting products. The program identifies products that have been tested and continue to be tested to ensure that their chemical and particle emissions meet acceptable indoor air-quality pollutant guidelines and standards. GREENGUARD ® is a valuable tool for consumers that want to purchase low emitting products for their homes. See sample books for specific choices. Child Safety. Be aware that it is possible for children to become entangled in window covering cords. To reduce the risk of accidents, all cords must be kept out of the reach of children. Cordless and motorized shades are the best option for safety conscious parents. Wall mounted tension devices (which secure the cord) are included with all easy-lift clutch and cord traverse panel tracks. We recommend securing all lift cords to the wall with a cord cleat. Flame Retardant. These fabrics meet the NFPA-701 standard of the U.S. National Fire Protection Administration. Suitable for commercial uses, these fabrics provide additional security in the home. See sample books for specific choices. Care & Cleaning. Most fabrics are inherently anti-static and repel dust. Periodic feather dusting or vacuuming with a soft brush attachment will keep your shades clean and fresh. Spills or stains can be lightly blotted M Assembled In America. This is also a good option if you do not wish to cover the window moldings. Treatments that are mounted from ceiling to floor or wall to wall are also considered an ins ide mount. MEASURE DIAGONALS MEASURE DEPTH MEASURE WIDTH MEASURE HEIGHT If the two measurements are not the same or vary by more than ½ in. then we recommend an outside mount for optimal function and privacy. Check for any obstacles such as handles or cranks that could interfere with the operation of the blind or shade. The pricing guide gives more information as to depth requirements of each style blind. Measure the width of the opening at the top, middle and bottom of the window. Be sure to measure the full window opening not just the glass pane. For roller shades, record only the top measurement, for all other treatments, order the narrowest measurement. Measure the left, center and right side of the window opening. For verticals, panel tracks and shadings, use the shortest measurement, for all other treatments use the longest measurement. OUTSIDE MOUNT Out s ide mounted shades are installed on your wall or molding surrounding the window and make a window appear larger. It is also a solut ion when the window is not deep enou gh f or an inside mount. MEASURE WIDTH H E A D R A I L L O C AT I O N MEASURE HEIGHT Measure the width to be covered including any overlap on the surrounding wall. Measure 1 ½ in. past the window opening on each side of the window for sufficient privacy and light control. Decide if headrail will be installed on or above the window molding. You will need a flat surface area up to 2 in. depending on the product selected. Mark the spot. Measure height from the headrail location to the top of sill or lower as desired. If treatment extends to the floor, subtract ½ in. for clearance for vertical shadings. 2 in. 1 ½ in. 1 ½ in. 15 S TA C K I N G C O N S I D E R AT I O N S C ons ider a treatment’s stacking height or width w hen f ully drawn open and how much of you r w indow will be covered. If too much is covered for your liking, consider an outside mount.
