Position the base so that the cord is taut and operable but not loose. It should only have enough slack to operate when pulled up or down, do not twist or slant the chain. Screw the base into place. Click the cover over the base and screw in place. WARNING: Blind Cords may create a strangulation hazard for young children. KEEP BLIND CORDS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Tension device base cover To avoid creating a possible strangulation hazard for children, the corded internal window covering must be installed in such a way that a loose cord cannot form a loop 220mm or longer at a height of less than 1600mm above floor level. - A cord guide may be installed lower than 1600mm above floor level if the cord is sufficiently secured or tensioned to prevent a loop 220mm or longer from being formed. - If a cord guide is installed lower than 1600mm above floor level it must be designed to prevent a child from being able to remove the cord. - If a cleat is used to secure the cord it must be at least 1600mm above floor level because a child is capable of unwinding a cord from a cleat. STEP 5 Install the Tie Downs (Optional). This is used to secure your roller in light breezes. Remove the end caps from the bottom rail. Slide the Tie Downs into the groove, once this is done replace the end caps. You will need something to anchor the Tie Downs to such as a hook which should be sourced seperately from your hardware store. Bottom rail Tie Down ADJUST CHAIN TENSION To adjust the tension in the chain you must first slide off the cover on the Clutch unit. Once it is off you will see four screws as shown below. To loosen the tension turn the screws anti-clockwise. To tighten the tension turn the screws clockwise. ADJUSTING FOR CEILING INSTALLATION To make the chain operate from the top such as the ceiling you will need to make adjustments to both the Clutch unit and Idle plug unit. Slide the covers off both units and remove the screws. As we did before when adjusting the chain for left hand control turn the inner chain apparatus inside the Clutch unit 90 degrees so it will hang down. Idle Plug unit-remove screws ADJUSTING FOR A LEFT HANDED CHAIN CONTROL To make the chain operate on the left hand side, begin by sliding the cover off the Clutch unit. You will expose four screws used for adjusting the tension. Unscrew these to access the inner chain apparatus as shown below. Turn this 180 degrees so the chain can hang from the left side. Replace the screws and cover. There is no need to do anything to the Idle plug unit. Lastly, pull out the end plugs on the tube and switch them around. down In the Idle plug unit, once you have removed the screws as shown below, you will see the inner apparatus which holds the end plug in place. Turn this so the opening is facing down or away from the ceiling. Once this is done, replace the screws and covers for both units and proceed with installation.
