Cliff Notes
Couldn’t pass up on the pun today…back in college days everyone
used them, but shoot, I don’t even know if they still exist.
Last Wednesday was a bit disappointing…I think there were only 24 in attendance for the meeting, and of that, two were visitors/new members. Holidays
are past…time to get in the swing of things. Alynne’s minutes do a good job of
letting you know what went on, but being there in person is part of being a
member. To that, there are empty committee positions waiting for someone to
step up, e.g. Sponsorship and Donor Chair for the Prize Ride; Leave No Trace
(may have a person in line for this one); and Public Relations. Participation is
paramount in a volunteer organization…Left to the few, the organization withers and dies.
Tractor Supply Grand Opening in Monr oe on J an 22, 23,&24 is a gr eat
opportunity to meet some folks and talk about the Back Country Horsemen
Mission. Still have some openings in the schedule and it never hurts to have
extra people so if you’re available drop in and lend a hand or give me a call to
fill one of the open times.
Rendezvous will soon be upon us. Cathy has mentioned it in her r epor t,
but best to go to the BCHW web site to get all the details. One of the new
items introduced is the “Come Ride Our Part of the State”, which Cathy has
discussed in a recent e-mail. This is a chance to make a little money for the
BCHW and show off our area. Cathy has West Cady Ridge as one option. It
would be nice if someone stepped up to offer to lead the ride. The board will
organize the event and provide the support.
Legislative Day in Olympia is coming up in Febr uar y. Beth will be sending out more on this. It is a chance to visit your representatives. Can’t say it is
a once in a life time event, but certainly if you have not done it a chance to see
first-hand how things work in the State Capital.
Ride Calendar was wor ked out by a small gr oup Wednesday be sur e to
check it out.
That’s 30 for the month

Do ya’ll take pictures of your day rides? Send them to me along
with where you rode and a little bit of trail conditions.
Sat 1/9 Bugsy and I went to Lord Hill, waited till 1:00. The road was great to
travel on. The trails in really good shape for
this time of year, yes a little wet & slick but
overall pretty good!
Sun 1/10 Belle & I w/a couple of gal pals
headed to the PTF. No one there @ 11:00
when we got there but Holly Cow the parking
lot was full when we returned. I hope the
Iron Ranger proved that!
The trails in pretty good shape, quite a few
blow downs & overgrown, stock tank was empty, pking lot still in good shape. If you take a
trip to the PTF bring your saw & clippers!
