SPOKANE GUILDS’ SCHOOL PARENT GROUP FALL FUNDRAISER
Announcing the fall fundraiser September 6th through 20th!
This fundraiser is the ONLY fundraiser for the Parent Group. The money raised is used for
library books, videos, & refreshments for the Family Resource Center.
Important Instructions:
•Please pick up a Seller’s Envelope at the school (Classroom, Resource Center, or Front Office).
•On or before Thursday, September 20th, return the envelope with your order form & payments
inside to Marilyn Henderson, program coordinator.
•If you choose to order online, please follow the instructions, and make a copy of your order for Marilyn Henderson.
•Make checks payable to: Spokane Guilds’ School (SGS) Auxiliary Fund.
•Collect money when taking orders. DO NOT COLLECT SALES TAX.
•A copy of your order form will be returned to you with your order, see below for school ID and contact information.

Recent Recalls To Be Aware Of:








The following recalls were reported through the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission.

‘Tots in Mind’ Crib Tents and Play Yard Tents. These products pose serious strangulation and entrapment
hazards that could result in brain injury or death. Do not attempt to repair these products. CPSC Release # 12179.
‘Chicco’ Polly High Chair. These products are being voluntarily recalled due to a laceration hazard. Children
can fall on or against the pegs on the rear legs of the high chair, resulting in a bruising or laceration. CPSC Release # 12-221, or visit www.chiccousa.com.
‘Maxfield & Oberton’ Buckyballs and Buckycube Desk Toys. There is an ongoing cooperative recall involving these magnetic toys. There have been multiple injuries reported involving young children and teens ingesting
the magnets since the recall in 2010. CPSC Release # 12-234
‘Downeast Concepts’ Folding Beach Chairs. These children’s beach chairs have been voluntarily recalled due
to a laceration hazard posed by the chair’s sharp, exposed metal rivets. Consumers should stop using the recalled
beach chairs immediately and return them to Downeast Concepts 1-800-343-2424 for a full refund.
‘Kolcraft’ Contours Options LT Tandem Strollers. The front wheel assembly can break, posing a fall hazard
to the children or child in the stroller. This voluntary recall involves all Contour Options LT Tandem Strollers
with model # ZT012. CPSC Release # 12-233. Visit www.kolcraft.com for more information.
‘Peg Perego’ Venezia and Pliko-P3 Strollers. This is a voluntary recall involving two different older versions
of the strollers. They pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants under 12 months of age. For a complete listing of model numbers involved in this recall, visit www.cpsc.gov CPSC Release # 12-232. Or call Peg

‘Toys R Us’ Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Center. The small wooden knobs attached to the xylophone included in the Activity Center can detach, causing a choking hazard to young children. Model # 46284. CPSC Release # 12-188. Consumers should immediately stop using and bring to Toys R Us for a full refund.
‘Manley Toys, Ltd.’ Banzai Falls In-Ground Pool Slide. This product was sold at Walmart and Toys R Us
from January 2005-June 2009 for about $250. There have been reports of one death, as well as two serious neck
injuries involving this product. Recalled slides have the barcode # 2675315734 and Model # 15734. Consumers
can get a full refund at the nearest Walmart or Toys R Us upon return of the product. CPSC Release # 12-174.
Storytime at Spokane Public Libraries
Thanks to the efforts of volunteers in the Spokane community, Storytime is available at all Spokane Library and Spokane County Branches.
If you and your toddler, or even siblings, enjoy Storytime, here is a look at some of the options:
•The Downtown Library offers Toddler Storytime* on Tuesday and Fridays at 10:00am. Preschool Storytime* is on Tuesday and Friday at
10:30am. They are located at 906 W. Main. Phone number 509-444-5355.
•The Shadle Library offers Toddler Storytime on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00am, and Preschool Storytime on Wednesdays and
Thursdays at 10:30am. They are located at 2111 West Wellesley. Phone number 509-444-5390.
•The South Hill Library offers Toddler Storytime on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00am, and Preschool Storytime on Tuesdays and
Thursdays at 10:30am. They are located at 3324 South Perry. Phone number 509-444-5385.
•The East Side Library offers Toddler Storytime on Fridays at 10:00am, and Preschool Storytime on Fridays at 10:30am. They are located

•The Hillyard Library offers Toddler Storytime on Fridays at 10:00am, and Preschool Storytime on Fridays at 10:30am. They are located

•The Indian Trail Library offers Toddler Storytime on Fridays at 10:00am, and Preschool Storytime on Fridays at 10:30am. They are

•There is also Baby Lapsit (Nursery Rhymes, songs & stories for children up to 18 mos.) at the following locations: •North Spokane

All Storytime sessions are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Storytimes at East Side, Hillyard and Indian
Trail will be presented by Library trained volunteers. Storytimes at Downtown, Shadle, and South Hill will be periodically presented by
Library trained volunteers.
*Toddler Storytime is recommended for children 18-36 months. *Preschool Storytime is recommended for children aged 3-5.
