First-timer
Everyone’s first time is exciting. And while
many are nervous they won’t know what to do,
rest assured, we’ve got you covered. In fact, it
would be hard to do it wrong. That’s because
around every corner, there’s an only Vegas
experience you won’t soon forget. It’s easy to
be overwhelmed on your first trip to Vegas, but
fret not – you can always come back.
Try staying somewhere familiar like Palms
Casino Resort. You’ll recognize it from reality
TV, award shows and more. And with fantasy
suites, pools that hang over balconies and
clubs that are literally on fire, you’ll have plenty
of stories to tell back home.
The Forum Shops
There are plenty of places to pick up
souvenirs, but why not really treat
yourself and bring home some of the
hottest fashions, housewares and more
from the world’s premier retailers at
The Forum Shops at Caesars.
While you’re squeezing in everything you
possibly can on your first trip to Vegas,
make an appointment at the Red Rock
Spa. You’ll want to go home rested and
rejuvenated before you head back to work.
Inside Hoover Dam
While you’re in the
area, check off
one of America’s
wonders from
your bucket list.
Make the short trip
to Hoover Dam
– take the tour,
then walk to the
halfway point and
stand in Nevada
and Arizona at the
same time.
You’ve come for a party, and here,
we start them during the day. One of
the hottest around is Wet Republic
at MGM. Wear your tiniest bikini,
order an ice-cold drink and dive in.
There’s more to see and do in Las Vegas than you can
For celebrity spotting, Marquee
Nightclub & Dayclub at The
Cosmopolitan is proving to be
one of the hot spots.
And when the sun sets, head over to
Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at
Paris Las Vegas. This lush oasis in the
middle of the thriving Strip provides
an exotic respite from the hustle and
bustle, with celeb sightings, worldclass DJs and dancing all night long.
Another stop you must make is at the Fountains
of Bellagio. You may have seen the water show on
television, but it cannot be replicated, even in HD.
Donn Arden’s Jubilee!
Shows in Vegas offer everything under
the sun, but none pay tribute to classic
Vegas entertainment like Jubilee!
at Bally’s. One of the few remaining
shows to feature authentic bedazzled
and feathered showgirls.
But it’s Zumanity by Cirque du Soleil
at New York-New York that amazes
among the newer style shows. It’s the
acrobatic, musical, costumed affair
you’d expect from the French troupe,
but with a distinctly adult vibe.

Shrimp Cocktail
at Golden Gate
If you’ve got one hour before dinner, before your show or while
you’re waiting for your friends to join you poolside, we’ve got
some great ways to spend it.
You’ve heard of the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity 3 at
Caesars Palace, but its $1,000 sundae is just the refreshing way
to indulge this summer. And once you see it, you’ll want to eat it
in well under an hour. Maybe order two. It’s Vegas, after all.
It’s refined. It’s civilized. And most of all, it’s
delicious. The Tea Room at Mandarin Oriental
offers a wide selection of teas and light snacks
in this comfortable lounge overlooking the Strip.
The Tea Room

Big Shot at
Stratosphere
Shrimp cocktail at Golden Gate has long been considered
one of Vegas’ great treasures. For $1.99 you can get a fresh
shrimp cocktail like Dean and Sammy used to enjoy. There
isn’t a better deal in town.
Fried Twinkies at Mermaid’s on Fremont Street. You’ll see the colorful
showgirls with complimentary Mardi Gras beads and you’ll know
you’re there. Head to the back and order up. Then leave a powdered
sugar trail to make sure you can find your way back for seconds.
You work hard for every hour of vacation time you earn. And as you add them up, you want
to spend them wisely. Your Vegas summer vacation may be long or it may be a weekend,
but if you plan it right, you can get the most out of every hour you’ve cashed in.

wonder that is one mile deep and 277
miles long. Sightseeing air tours and
ground tours of the Grand Canyon
depart Las Vegas daily for half-day,
full-day and overnight excursions.
Boulder City
This humble Nevada town is
approximately 20 miles from Las Vegas
and just a few miles from Hoover Dam.
Boulder City offers a quaint, smalltown destination. Enjoy Main Street
shops, antiques, and a diner known for
its thick-cut bacon and hot coffee.
Skydive, kayak, boat, fish or zipline.
Primm
A short half hour from Las Vegas on the
California-Nevada border, Primm has it
all – shopping, dining, gaming, big-name
entertainment, golf, one of the world’s
tallest and fastest roller coasters, and
theaters. It’s an excellent way to break
up a drive from Southern California and
an excellent way to spend a few hours
strolling through your favorite stores
searching for discounts.

There’s no dress code in Vegas, and you’re likely to
find visitors in all manner of apparel. While it’s sunny
and warm outside, some casinos can be chilly, so pack
accordingly. Shorts, tees and light sweaters aren’t a
bad way to go. And if you want to throw in a slinky black
cocktail dress or sharp tuxedo, it’s Vegas baby!
Transportation – Taxis & Shuttles
Check with your hotel for shuttle services to and
from the airport. You can arrange pickups before you
arrive and make arrangements for a drop-off with the
concierge.
Aria AD HERE
Getting a cab at the airport is easy. Follow signs at
baggage claim to a taxi line, where waiting taxis will load
your luggage and take you right to your hotel. Catching a
cab on the Strip isn’t allowed due to the large amount of
traffic. To hop a ride to your next destination, you’ll need
to locate a taxi stand at any hotel or shopping center.
Rental Car Companies
Having a car at your disposal during your trip offers
convenience. Parking is usually free and plentiful in
Las Vegas, with most of the major hotels offering valet.
Booking a rental car can be done at booths inside
McCarran Airport.
Monorail
The Las Vegas Monorail is one of the best options to
connect to many of the Strip hotels, restaurants and
shopping along the Strip. One-way tickets, as well as
all-day passes, are available at each station, with stops
at MGM Grand, Bally’s/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars Palace,
Harrah’s/Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center,
LVH and Sahara Avenue.
