She was very involved in Cherry Beach and Harsen's Island Senior Centers. She had a tremendous love for Harsen's Island and St. Mark's Church. She served St. Marks Church in many capacities, President of the Women's Guild, Eucharistic Minister and Minister of the Sick. She was involved in St. Marks Christmas Giving Tree and dressed up as Santa Claus for the children. In 1987, on her way to church, her car skidded into a ditch. She had water up to her chin. She grabbed her medal and said: “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, help me.” She was fished out of the car by three wonderful angels of Harsen's Island sent by God to save her. She believed she was saved from the accident for a reason. Marie spent the next 20 years crocheting afghans and towels, knitting dishcloths, baking cookies, apple pies, bread and continually spreading joy and wisdom. The NEW Country Scene 3066 S.
