November 2010 - Living Stone
The Haiti World Herald
Dan, Liz & Joey Carl, Missionaries to Haiti
Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,
Greetings from Haiti. Recently, Haiti has
been threatened by Cholera from the North
and Hurricanes from the South. Thank you
for your prayers of intercession for us and
the people of Haiti. We had a great month
with wonderful friends building the school in
Miragoane. Also, we’ve been greatly blessed
to see spiritual fruit beginning to grow in
the lives of believers from a Tent Church.
Sowing into Fertile Hearts
After the earthquake on January 12th,
Monique’s faith was greatly tested. (above)
She became discouraged, hard hearted and
mad at God. One day, while attending
church in her tent camp community known as
“JP”, there was an announcement for the
beginning of a book study featuring the 40
day devotional called “The Purpose Driven
Life.” After 8 weeks of studying the
devotional with 40 ladies from her church,
Monique said “God has helped me to
understand the purpose He has for my life.”

Giving Spiritual Food
Expressing Thankfulness
Initially, earthquake relief funds were used
to purchase water, food, and shelter. Now,
we are putting a greater emphasis on giving
the gift of life through spiritual food.
Relief funds have helped us purchase 80
copies of “The Purpose Driven Life” in
French. Many others along with Monique
have grown in their relationship with Jesus
through small group studies facilitated by
Liz as well as Moise and Mona (below) from
our ministry network.
Pastor St. Cyr recently invited us to a
Sunday morning service (below) in which
members of his congregation expressed
appreciation for the help the Lord has
provided through us from your generous
giving. We were overwhelmed with emotion
as the children sang a “thank you” song and
various adult members shared testimony and
many words of thanks. We were the first
missionaries to connect with Pastor St. Cyr’s
congregation after the earthquake and were
privileged to be used by the Lord to open
the door for other missionary groups who
have been an incredible blessing to the
Church and the tent camp community.
Raising Up Haitian Leaders
A few months ago, Pastor St. Cyr from the
“JP” tent camp Church asked us to train
some young ladies from his congregation to
minister to children. After Clement our
ministry coordinator identified 3 ladies with
a calling to work with Kids, we sent them to
a very powerful one week summer training
course hosted by CEF. (Child Evangelism
Fellowship) Two of the participants left the
training with a new passion and equipping to
minister to children and have been
conducting a weekly action packed Kid’s club
at the tent Church for the last 2 months.
Sheila (below) teaches the children a Bible
lesson at their weekly Tuesday Kid’s Club.
Preparing the Foundation
Gene Foral, from Omaha Glad Tidings
Church, arrived the first week of October
to work with Dan and members of the
Miragoane Church to prepare the cement
foundation for their new school. (below)
Please see the back page for more news!
Omaha Life Church Builds the Miragoane School...
In the 8 years we’ve been in Haiti, we’ve never worked a team harder than this group. We asked them to design and build an 8 room
wood school based only on a verbal description over the telephone, bring all the tools they would need, and build it on top of a narrow
block foundation. Thanks to the Lord’s grace and perseverance, they built it in less than one week finishing late Sunday afternoon the
day before fall semester began. The team was up everyday before 5:30 AM and worked until the sun went down. Battling through heat,
fatigue, and sickness, they not only successfully built the school, but did it while showing the love of God to the Haitian people. They
finished everything except the cement floor. (Please see prayer requests) The finished school is pictured in the front page header.

Many Thanks to All who helped with the School...
It was 3 months ago while Josie Milone was here in Haiti with her son’s Church that she suggested a
team from her home Church build the school. Thanks to Josie and her team along with Gene Foral
who came to do the foundation! You were the ones who made the rubber hit the road!!! Also, we
Dedicating the School to the Lord. would like to thank Pastor Walt DeVries and the saints from Glad Tidings, Pastor Rick Milone and
the saints from RUWA Ministries and Pastor Dobie Weasel and the saints from Life Church. These
ministries are from Omaha, NE. Also, from Orlando, FL Lavon & Lynda Croskey and their ministry
supporters from “Against the Odds.” All of these ministries participated through offerings and/or
sending teams to help. Finally, all who have donated to the earthquake relief project. THANK YOU!
Your friendship, prayers, and support touch us and the Haitian people daily. Many thanks!
