Apprenticeships & Training Programmes
Apprentices focus on the whole job, not just the individual
skills. Apprentices learn through a combination of on and offthe-job education and training. In the workplace they work
alongside other employees and the rest they learn from us.
Apprenticeships help companies to stay competitive by
developing the kind of people that businesses need for the
future. We can help you decide which apprenticeship is best
for you.
There are two levels of Apprenticehip; apprentices and
advanced apprentices:
Taster Evenings (5PM - 7PM)
Thursday 8th January
Wednesday 11th March
Thursday 14th May
Come for a tour,

Apprenticeships usually last a year and apprentices work
towards a National Vocational Qualification, a Technical
Certificate at Level 2, and Functional Skills
Advanced Apprenticeships usually last at least three and
a half years and apprentices work towards a National
Vocational Qualification and a Technical Certificate at Level
3, Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 2.

What’s it all about?
Engineering maintenance technicians service machinery
and equipment in the manufacturing, production and
transportation industries. Your apprentices could be involved
in a variety of jobs ranging from fixing equipment on a high
end production line, to testing aircraft parts and components
in a hangar.
Toolmakers produce precision tools like jigs, dies and moulds
that are used by engineering craftspeople to manufacture a
range of products. They work mainly with metals, alloys and
composite materials known as “stocks” or castings.

Welders cut, shape and join sections of metal plate and pipes
in a wide range of industries. These include construction and
engineering, transport, aerospace and offshore oil and gas.
They also carry out repairs on manufacturing equipment and
machinery. Sheet metal workers make metal products for
the engineering and construction industries from flat metal
sheets, including ducting, cylinders, panels and containers. As
a sheet metal worker in light engineering, your apprentices
might work with anything from aluminium metal sheeting
for street signs to items like panels used in vehicle or aircraft
manufacturing
This course is designed to equip your workforce with the
skills required to enter employment in the engineering
sectors or to progress to higher level courses, including
university degrees. It will also provide you with the

10 Module Highly Automated System (HAS)
The HAS system has been devised based
on the training requirements in industries
with a high level of automation. Its
versatility and attractive design allow the
reproduction/emulation of the operation
of a real factory, thus allowing the study
of different scenarios. The highest stateof-the-art technologies used in productive
processes are integrated in this didactic
system, which responds to the need of
the most diverse sectors (automotive,
semiconductors, food, pharmaceutical
etc.). HAS covers the fourth level in the
automation pyramid, and goes into the
ERP level for the introduction of production
orders. The system reproduces a productive
process with a high level of automation
which helps to develop the professional
capacities required in the most diverse
sectors (automotive, semiconductors, food,
pharmaceutical, etc).

10 Module Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS)
The FMS system is the ideal answer to
integral training in industrial automation.
It is fully modular and flexible equipment
and in keeping with industrial reality.
The technologies included in its different
assembly stations, as well as the assembly
process with several variants, allow the user
to develop the professional skills required
by today’s automated industry. The modular
features of this flexible automation cell
allow the introduction of variations in the
posts of which it is comprised so that they
adapt to the different requirements of
companies and training centres. From a
simple configuration with one station only
(working fully autonomously) to a complex
configuration with eight or ten stations, the
possibilities are endless.
Industrial Process Control & Bottling & Filling Station
This system allows the raw material to be moved
from each of the side tanks towards the middle
tank where the mixing takes place. Once mixed,
the liquid leaves the tank and moves towards the
second station or towards a draining element.
The production station then incorporates a series
of elements which allow regulation and control
of the temperature, level, pressure and flow rate
variables. This equipment is specially designed for
the development of professional skills required in
the continuous process industry (in sectors such as
food, pharmaceutical, chemical, petroleum, etc.).
