Your club’s executive board meets 4 times each year to conduct the business that’s required to keep this widely spread
out organization of hard core F-100 lovers functioning. With seven chapters, scattered over a huge geographical area, that is
no small task, yet the core group that makes up your E-Board faithfully comes back to Tracy, CA each quarter to try to keep
our diverse group viable.

At the meeting of Saturday, July 12 , after the reading of the previous meeting’s minutes, and the treasurer’s report, they
began the morning’s discussions with an update on the status of the North-South Run planning. All of the required permits
and fees required by the city of Morro Bay have been obtained and paid for, so there shouldn’t be any more bureaucratic
hoops to jump through for them. As a result of the event shirts being purchased from a different vendor this year, the order
needs to be placed earlier than what we’re used to, so everyone at the meeting was encouraged to go back to their chapters
and let people know that the shirt order is put together based on the number of pre-registered entries that have been

received at the time of the order being placed. So, if you’re planning on going to the 44 Annual F-100 North-South Run, get

your entry in ASAP. (Editor’s note: I realize you probably won’t be reading this until somewhere around the 1 of August, and

the order needs to be placed no later than August 4 or 5 , so if you plan to attend, and haven’t sent in your entry, call or email me with your shirt size (and quantity) requirements so I can factor that information into the shirt order)
Leanne Robinson, our web site person, reported that the site is pretty well up to date. She did ask, however, that more
pictures of members and their trucks be sent to her. Also, when sending the pictures to her, orient them as “portrait”, not
“landscape”. The format she’s using on the web site will result in the landscape oriented photos being compressed, or
looking “squished”.
At the April E-Board meeting, Modesto Chapter presented a proposal suggesting the 45th year Anniversary Run, to be

held September 14 , take place a Black Oaks Casino in Tuolumne, CA (just east of Sonora). It was asked that
representatives go back to their chapters and discuss the idea, and bring the results back to this meeting. The result was that
the overwhelming majority of members apparently agreed with the proposal, so that’s where this year’s Anniversary Run will
take place. Event chairperson, Nancy Agrusa, will get together with Modesto Chapter folks to work out the details, and will
get the information out to members as quickly as possible. It was brought up that everyone should be reminded that the
“Entry Fee” for the event is at least one raffle prize donation per vehicle attending (white elephant gifts welcomed).
The list of club sponsored events remaining this year were discussed. The contact information and flyers can be found in
the “Events” section of this newsletter. Also, next year’s events that have the dates already set were announced. They were:
March 28, 2015 Delta’s Easter Run; May 2, 2015, Silicon Valley’s Silicon Valley Cruise; June 12 & 13, 2015, Modesto’s Back
To Graffiti; and July 19, 2015, Modesto’s Summer Bash. Mark your calendars for those dates and let’s support these club
events.
Port City Chapter thanked everyone that helped and supported their “Cruisin’ the Grove” run in June. They’re a very small
chapter, and this kind of support is a huge help in making that young event a success.
Modesto’s John Walsh, and Livermore’s Nancy Agrusa both knew of some F-100’s for sale, and offered to provide contact
information to anyone wanting to check them out. Contact them if you’re looking for a truck.
Other than some time spent visiting, that was pretty much all that happened at the July E-Board meeting. Any member
wishing to see how your club functions, or would like to participate, you’re encouraged to attend the next meeting in October.
The more members involved, the better we can serve this great club.

On June 29 we had F-100’s cruise to Alice’s
Restaurant in the mountains near Woodside. Great
weather for a cruise on this day. Alice’s is always full on
weekends with bikers, hikers, and cyclists everywhere. A
neat spot to go to. We all enjoyed lunch, and kicked back
before heading home.

On the 4 we had F-100’s in the 4 of July Parade in
Fremont. A large turnout of folks to view the parade. We
have cruised in the parade for several years and really
enjoy it. After the parade the F-100’s headed to Round
Table Pizza for lunch and drinks.

On July 12 we had F-100’s in the car show at Newark
Mall in Newark, co-sponsored by Classic Cruisers USA
and the City of Newark.

On July 17 the Downtown Hayward Street Party was
the place to be. Lots of folks showed up to view the
vintage vehicles, check out the live music, vendors, and
enjoy the BBQ. Wally Wallace received an award for
“Cleanest Truck”
Street Trucks Magazine has an article on last year’s
North-South Run.
There were lots of shows going on in July, and more in
August, so we’ve been busy.
Hope to see you in Morro Bay August 15, 16, & 17. We
are looking forward to a fun weekend and seeing old
friends.

E-Board met on July 12 to perform the nuts and bolts necessary for our club to function as a whole. Thought you might
enjoy a picture of your E-Board at work – as well as eating breakfast!

Also on July 12 , John Walsh and Bob Hansen stopped by the Impala Club’s gathering at Tuolumne Regional Park in
Modesto. Some of their low-riders are beyond extravagant, but you can’t help but admire the amount of care and
craftsmanship put into the building and maintaining of their cars. It was also an opportunity for Bob and John to pass out
flyers and meet new car enthusiasts.

On July 13 , the 35 annual Linguica Run was held in Gustine. Attending from Modesto Chapter were John Walsh, Dusty
Johnson, Bob and Susan Hansen, and several friends of the club. It was a good chance to meet with many who go to our
runs, and to pass out flyers and recruit vendors for Summer Bash. It was a nice day to sit in the shade and relax with other
like-minded people. It was a hot day, but there were lots of shade trees in the park – and a great linguica lunch!

The Old Fisherman’s Club had their 2 annual fund-raiser on July 19 . With almost 200 cars and grass parking, it was a
nice day with a nice barbecue tri-tip or chicken lunch – and one last chance to pass out flyers for Summer Bash! We have
passed out hundreds of flyers this year for our events, and it’s a lot of work, but each show picks up a few more participants
and adds a different mix of vehicles. It also gets out the good name of the F-100’s and worth the effort.

July 20 – 24 annual SUMMER BASH!! The weather at the Fruit Yard was perfect! The Modesto Chapter’s annual run
was a great success. We had over 150 cars and trucks (and 2 bicycles) show up to support our charities. Our net was just
under $6,000 for this event – thank you to everyone who made everything come together.
The hustle and bustle of registration and set-up kept everyone really busy for the first couple of hours, and then there was
time to relax in the peaceful shady setting – and time to visit with all our friends. Attending from other chapters were Art
Davis, and Howard and Karen Kleinert from Port City, Don and Sue Cox from Delta Chapter, Nancy Agrusa and Sydney
Crosswhite from Livermore, and Earl Pecka from San Joaquin Chapter. Thank you for your support. Portraits of your trucks
were taken for those who wanted them, courtesy of Modesto Chapter.
Topping everything off was our humongous, gigantic raffle. This year, thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, we
had some really high-end prizes for our always-fantastic raffle. Some prizes included a leather recliner, 40” TV, bicycles,
cases of wine, 3-tiered Craftsman toolbox, and many, many more.

Registered vehicles ranged from extremely ornate and well-built low-rider bicycles to rat rods, to modern customized cars,
and everything in between. The best car trophy went to an immaculate 1958 Impala that looked like it had just rolled off the
showroom floor of a Chevy dealer in 1958. Best truck was a 1958 Ford F-100 that was as customized as you can imagine
and in perfect condition.
Who’s Working on What
Don’t forget the Wika Show coming up on September 21st , benefitting the Marfan Foundation. This show will be at the
Fruit Yard in Modesto. Looking forward to seeing all of you at this last Modesto show of the year.

very fond of him she was nervous about what sort of impression he’d make on her parents. After all, he was full of tattoos
and rings all over his body.
“Mom,” said Lisa nervously, ” I would like you to meet Spike, my boyfriend, Spike this is my Mom.” After a few minutes of
small talk and pleasantries, Lisa’s Mom called her over and whispered “Lisa, I don’t like him, he just doesn’t seem very nice!”
“Mom please!” retorted Lisa, “if he’s not a nice guy how can you explain the forty hours of community service he does a week

Modesto's Summer Bash was great as usual. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Earl, Brandon, Art, Karen, Howard
and Sydney came in their "grocery getters". Nancy and Don had the only club trucks other than Modesto’s. Good turnout,
HUGE raffle as usual! A few changes made it faster. GOOD JOB !!! MODESTO!
North South is just around the corner, so get your entries in to have a good time.

Update! 7/13/14...Bonfonte Gardens (Now Gilroy Gardens) Rod, Motorcycle, & Classic Custom Event.
Carol and I attended this year’s event, and it really is a great event. For your entry fee you get full access to the Gilroy
Gardens Amusement Park, Coffee and Donuts in the morning, appetizers prior to Lunch, a great “All-You-Can-Eat” Tri-Tip
and Chicken Lunch, with Salad, beans, Fruit, Garlic Bread, with Free Sodas and Coffee. Free Ice cream after lunch. Inside
the park from 1-4 PM, a good 50’s Rock & Roll band played in the Amphitheater, and you could watch some of the nice
people dancing.
A great variety of Cars and Trucks were displayed in either the Park Pavilion or in the Grove of Trees. Carol and I had
attended this event twice in the past, (it has not been held for at least the past 10 years). We took my Roadster in the past,
so we took it again this year.
Keeping in mind that we ran this event announcement in our Newsletter, I was surprised to see that few, if any, of our
members attended this great event. As I walked around, I found that there was ONLY 2 Ford F100 Trucks. I introduced
myself to one of the owners and asked him if he would be going to the North-South Event? He said that he was from the
Santa Cruz area, and that he knew about North-South, but he would not be attending this year. He did say that a friend of
his from the Santa Cruz area would be going, and he might try to go in the future.
If they have this event next year, or in a couple of years, I would sure like to see a good representation of our Ford F100
Trucks there, including mine!!!

The summer is going full swing with car shows almost everyday of the week. On any given week we could be going to 3
to 4 car shows. Luckily most of the shows are close to home as some of them are during the week. We try to make the most
of them but somehow it does not work out that way.
We have been lax with getting our articles into the newsletter. The end of the month just seems to creep on me lately. I
guess I am too busy. I guess that could be a good thing. But some things seem to suffer and this was one of them.
We want to generously thank everyone that came out to our show in June. We had great weather and a great time. We
also want to thank all the help we got from all of you in our time of need. We were worried up to the night of the event,
worrying if everything would come together and it did and that was because of all the help we got.
I know that Art would want to thank all of you for all your thoughts and prayers during his recovery time. He is back to
getting out and getting stronger day by day. Howard is really seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on getting the panel up
n running. He is diligently trying to get it up and going for North South. We still have to work on the inside but at least it will
look good going down the street. So keep him in your thoughts.
We made it to Summer Bash to join the other chapters in representing Modesto in their annual summer event. We must
have finally got our point across as CVC Car Club finally made it to the event. We go to their Friday Night Shows every
second and fourth Friday night. We have told them repeatedly that it is the event of the summer and they made it. And they
did not go home empty handed as they all pretty much went home with trophies. The day was one of the coolest Bash’s we
have ever had, now I do not mean the event I mean the weather. It was in the 80’s with breezes most of the day. And it did
not hurt that there was cloud cover in fact we thought it might rain at one point, as it sure smelled like it.
Modesto Chapter tried something different in their raffle dispersing and it seemed to help their cause in a big way. I know
that it probably took more people to get the raffle completed like it did but it made the raffle go more smoothly and faster.
Most of us in our group at least won something, especially Sydney. But it also seemed like the prizes were getting to just
about anybody in the crowd. So everyone seemed to be happy about that too. We want to shout out to the lucky people that
got the 50/50 pot of over 300.00 and lucky big screen t.v. All and all it was a grand day.
We will see you all at Morro Bay in a couple of weeks. I hope more of you than less of you. This is great run and a great
place for the venue. Who does not like the beach as long as you do not bring a lot of it home like my son did a couple of
weeks ago after going to Pismo Beach (there was a sand storm). All in all I cannot wait to see everyone again and chit-chat
about our lives, our trucks and years past.

Summer Southwest Salad

*Perfect for a summer picnic, serves 8-10*
2 cups Black Beans
2 cups Pinto Beans
2 cups Garbanzo Beans
2 cups Kidney Beans
2 cups Corn
3 Red, Orange or Yellow Bell Pepper diced
1 Sweet Yellow Onion diced
3 Avocados diced
Feta cheese
Cilantro
1 lime - juiced
3 Garlic Cloves - minced
1 Bottle Creamy Southwestern Dressing (or your favorite Italian dressing - homemade or store bought)
NOTE: Any of the Beans, you may not care for, can be eliminated!!
Mix beans and corn together in large salad bowl. Add diced peppers, garlic, and onion. Add salad dressing and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate.
Just prior to serving, add the lime juice, the avocado, and crumble feta cheese. Great without feta too. Serve with tortilla
chips.
Enjoy!!!

FOR SALE:1967 Galaxie 500 2 door Fastback. All original and 100% complete. This is a # matching 390, C6, with a 9" rear,
factory air, and 4bbl. It even still has the smog pump. Its had 1 respray, but it's obvious the motor has never been out of the
car. It's not missing so much as a clip or bracket. The motor will start with a prime and hits on all 8. The car needs a complete
restoration and has some rust where the factory vinyl top was and in the passenger side trunk extension/lower quarter panel.
I have a clear title and a non op registration on the car, so no extra fees upon transfer.Its a great place to start for a

FOR SALE: 1956 Ford vintage and classic F-250 4 speed with what appears to be OVERDRIVE. I acquired this truck with
the intention to fix it up but that didn't work out. I don't have a garage or adequate place to work on it. So here's your chance
to pick up a very solid truck for restoration or customizing.
Has California title registered through Jan 2015. Includes a new factory repair manual and truck cover.
The body is virtually rust free (some surface rust) with some bondo. VERY solid cab, doors, fenders, hood, frame. Looks like
the cab floor might have been replaced or sandblasted. It has the original seat and gas tank which are not pictured here.
Front bumper is missing, though readily available, and the rear bumper was customized. The bed has been lined with
aluminum panels.
It doesn't run and has a Lincoln engine which appears to be an optional engine of that era. Some heavy duty trucks have a
Y-Block which where for both Ford, Mercury and Lincoln. From what I understand these were hot rod motors of their time.
The casting number on the intake manifold shows it is a ECU series.

The transmission is a full synchro 4 speed with letters OD in the middle of the shifter knob which should mean it has
overdrive. The brakes feel like they still work. Lots of original parts still on the truck.
It has an 8 lug rear end installed which probably wasn't stock, since I'm guessing it is a 1 ton rear end and this is a 3/4 ton. I
do know where I can pick up a rear end out of a 1957 1/2 ton if need be. Also installed is an auxiliary gas tank underneath
the rear of the bed. It is a very sanitary installation.
Has most of the original dash parts and the cab is in good condition. The hood has been modified which for an original
restoration would need to be changed back but for a rodder would be perfect in that it slides and tilts forward - no head
