Cathy Fitch - Emily Lipinsky - Bev Kalas Pictured above is the culmination of a Super Effort by the WOTM. The presentation of an $800.00 check for “Breast Cancer Awareness” to Emily Lipinski, the representative of the American Cancer Societ The co-chairman Bev Kalas, Kathy Fitch and Lynn Acker with the help of Volunteers held the “Halloween Bingo Event” and raised the $800.00 along with $500.00 for “Mooseheart Charities.” Thank you WOTM Ladies. Pictured are the Children of the Illinois House and their House Parents receiving a $500.00 check from our Lodge. Administrator Ed Fitch, and Junior Governor Gary Kalas, traveled to a Legion 57 meeting at Mt. Morris and met with the children and House Parents of the Illinois House to present them with a $500.00 check for Christmas Decorations for their house. An announcement about the need to raise money for the Illinois House Christmas decorations was made at a Thurday night Bingo Game. Lodge Honors “Fellows” with Free Dinners !! Guide Elizabeth Johnson Assistant Guide Linda Mullins Sentinel (Vacant) Newsletter Editor Bob Hammortree That night the WOTM volunteers working in the kitchen decided to donate their tip money to a fund. With that Ed Fitch made an announcement of what the ladies had done and then asked for donations from the Bingo players. A substantial amount was then collected and the Lodge decided to also donate, so the result was an award of $500.00 to the children of the Illinois House so they would be able to decorate the House for Christmas. Lodge member’s who have served the lodge and Fraternity and were recognized by being advanced to the Degree of Fellows enjoyed a Free Turkey Dinner on Wednesday night November 18th. The Lodge will be open for Lunches on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. We hope that you will support this and realize we are doing everything we can to please our members. The menu will include Burgers, Hot Dogs, Brats, Chicken Strips and Tenderloins. Also Chips and Fries. Full Service Bar will be open !!! WOTM News Briefs -WOTM needs help!!!! The Women have taken over the Kitchen on Thursday nights to support the Bingo event. This also provides income for the WOTM. In an effort to provide some wholesome food and snacks for the Bingo crowd, we need Women volunteers. You do not have to volunteer for every Thursday night. But if you can help occasionally or more, please contact any of the Women currently helping out, and they can fill you in on the details. Don’t just be a member, be an active member and help your Chapter grow. Stop in on Friday Nights for a Great Fish Fry Dinner and the Queen of Hearts Drawing!!! Queen Winner Now Worth $7,250.00 Dec. 5th - Our Lodge will be delivering Turkeys to Mooseheart for the Children. Dec. 20th - Lodge Children’s Christmas Party, 1 pm, Food 1:30 pm, Santa to follow. Please note that you must signup your children and grandchildren 12 and under. If you want them to be included in the Christmas Party. The signup sheet is on the Counter at the entrance of the Social Quarters. Dec. 31st - Lodge New Years Eve party. ( Watch for new Details to come.} Please note that these are only to alert you to what is coming up. Check the calendar and ask questions of the Officers if you need more details. Activities around the Lodge !!! WOTM Donate For Children’s Christmas Party! Tuesday night Euchre still popular and room for more players. Play starts at 6:00 pm. New players welcome. Tuesday night Ladies Traveling Pool League. Ladies in the picture representing our Lodge are left to right, Ashley, Renee, Toshia, Jenn, Kim and Ashley Sipe. The Women of the Moose stepped up big time in support for the Moose Lodge Children’s Christmas Party. Monday night November 9th, prior to the Men’s and Women’s regular meeting, Dianne Hart, Senior regent presented our Governor Rick Arwood with a $1,000.00 donation to help fund the Children’s Annual Christmas Party. This is a huge help insuring a great Children’s Christmas Party for the Children and Grandchildren of our Lodge. This just adds to the many things, the Women of the Moose in this Lodge do to support our Lodge and Fraternity. Play in the League ends March 1st. Stop in and cheer the Ladies to victory. They won their match this night. Thursday Night Stars !!! Volunteers need help Thursday at Bingo ! Angela Sandeen and Cindy Grosvenor are regulars in the kitchen at Thursday night Bingo. This is a WOTM event and fundraiser. It goes without saying that they need more help from women members. Let them know you can help. Catherine Urban Kristine Arwood One successful Paint Party led to two more in November. The 11th &12th of November, we had two filled classes of painters. The instructor Catherine Urban did a wonderful job and everyone went home with a Christmas portrait to hang on the wall. Kristine Arwood did a good job hosting the event. “ Driving Miss Daisy ” The Women of the Moose would like to find some volunteers, who would like to pick up other’s and bring them to the Moose for Meetings and Functions. We have some members who cannot drive, but would love to join us. This could also be done for any men who also can’t drive, but would like to attend meetings and functions.
