Solar Quest
Recorded Program & Live Program: demonstrates how the
Sun and Earth are interconnected and that we are "Living
with a Star". The show discusses the impacts of space
weather and how the Earth’s atmosphere and magnetic field
protects all life on Earth.
The Sky in Motion
Live Program: Discover the sky on a guided tour through the
current sky to find out how the sky changes throughout the

cultures, followed by an exciting laser show that features
a mythical storytelling of seasonal constellations.
*Choice of Legends of the Night Sky: Perseus and
Andromeda or Legends of the Night Sky: Orion
Legends of the Night Sky: Perseus and
Andromeda
Laser Show-Perseus and Andromeda is a fun-filled
retelling of the tale of the beautiful but unfortunate
princess Andromeda, who in divine punishment for her
mother’s bragging, is sacrificed to a sea monster-but
rescued by the Greek hero Perseus.
Legends of the Night Sky: Orion
Laser Show-Legends takes an imaginative look at the
stories and legends about Orion, the great hunter of the

Oasis in Space
Be transported on a startling and beautiful voyage
through our universe, galaxy, and solar system in search
of liquid water, a key ingredient for life on Earth.
Center Programs
Planetarium Show -- Laser Light Show -- Exhibit -- Classroom
Maximum of 85 students & adults in planetarium
Our Place in Space
Instead of just listening to someone talk about the Earth and
the Sun, students will be asked to help solve a crossword
puzzle about the sky. Some clues are easier than others.
Starting with ideas as basic as the difference between a star
and a planet, one clue builds on another. The answers lead
to an exploration of the relationship between the Earth and
Sun, how apparent size changes with distance, the rotation
of the Earth and the effects of gravity (or lack thereof), and
the cause of day and night.
The Cowboy Astronomer
A skillfully woven tapestry of star tales and Native
American legends, combined with constellation
identification, starhopping, and astronomy tidbits — all
told from the unique viewpoint of a cowboy astronomer
who has traveled the world plying his trade and learning
the sky along the way. Narrated by nationally acclaimed
Cowboy humorist, Baxter Black.

Classroom & Outreach Programs:
Science Fair 101
What is a hypothesis? The scientific method is a vital
tool for any scientist. Learn the steps while doing a
hands-on experiment. This is especially useful for those
interested in competing in our annual Regional Science
Fair.
Color Connection
How many colors can be made out of the primary
colors? What makes a rainbow? Create colors and
make a rainbow tube out of colored polymers! What
makes black? Experiment with chromatography.
Forces & Motion
Find out how Newton’s Cradle works and explore
Newton’s Laws of Motion through a series of
demonstrations and hands-on experiments.
Astronaut
What does it take to become an astronaut? Go from
Earth into space...and beyond. Experience a rocket
launch from inside the body of an astronaut. Explore
the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, from
floating around the International Space Station to
maneuvering through microscopic regions of the human
body. Discover the perils that lurk in space as we
subject ‘Chad,’ our test astronaut to everything that
space has to throw at him.
Natural Selection
Join Darwin on his voyage with the HMS Beagle to the
Galapagos Islands where he was inspired to develop his
later theory of transmutation by natural selection. From
the comfort of Down House in Kent, Darwin himself will
explain the mechanism of natural selection to the
audience, and support it by showing many beautiful
examples in nature. The thrill of a scientific discovery,
the adventure of science and the beauty of nature are
central in this show.
*Recommended for junior high age groups and older.
Phun Physics
What happens when objects are placed in a vacuum?
Can a person lie on a bed of nails and survive? See
these demonstrations, as well as do some hands-on
activities to find out how fun physics can be!
Star Time
How did people keep time before clocks and calendars?
Learn about the way the Sun, the moon, and the stars
were used for these purposes while creating a star clock
and a solar clock. This program includes a visit to the
planetarium for a demonstration.

Enchanted Reef
One of the most precious of Earths’ oceans is
“Kaluoka’hina,” the enchanted reef, whose magic
protects it against humans finding it. Kaluoka’hina’s
colorful inhabitants have thus always lived in
peace...until the volcano erupts, and the spell is broken.
Now it’s up to the young sawfish Jake and his paranoid
pal Shorty to restore the magic of the reef. Their only
lead: the ancient legend that tells of touching the moon.
But how? This is just one of the intriguing puzzles that
Jake and Shorty have to solve on their most exciting
adventure ever: the quest to save their beloved reef.
