Newsletter 21st March 2016 - Dereham Church of England Junior
afe On Thursday 10th March the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham James, officially blessed our academy. This marked the final stage of us joining the DNEAT (Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust) family and the beginning of an exciting journey ahead. Thank you to all the children and visitors that helped make it a lovely afternoon. We continue to have a few issues with cars at pick-up and drop off times in school. Please be patient when driving in the school grounds; wait for children to move away from their cars before driving off and drive at an appropriate speed. Also, please consider our neighbours when parking outside of school. Please remember school starts at 8.50. Any time after this is marked as a late. More than 30 minutes late is marked as an unauthorised absence. It also means that children are not ready to start the school day at the same time as everyone else. Ensure your child is in school on time! If you would be interested in a role as a Midday Supervisor Assistant, then please visit the office for details and an application form. PE Kit PE is an incredibly important part of the curriculum. Keeping physically fit and learning to co-operate with one another and compete against each other is something all the children need to experience. Please ensure your child has the kit they need for the week: white t-shirt, black shorts and appropriate footwear. A tracksuit is also a good idea at this time of year. Water We have always encouraged the children to drink water in school; it is healthy and really helps maintain focus. Please make sure your child has a water bottle in school. Homework We realise that homework can occasionally be a struggle for some children. We ask that the children try their hardest and do the best they can. For those that require a little bit of help, we would like to remind you that we have a homework club during a Monday lunchtime where Mrs Bunkle is available to help.
