CHOCHA – COMMUNITY SCHOOL, CHITUNGULU Borehole October/November 2015 – The Chitungulu Foundation and Makolekole. Setting off from our base in Mfuwe, 6 hours later – we’re happy to reach Chocha and receive a very warm welcome. Drilling quickly gets underway – always with an interested audience. Adrian and David check progress – whilst Esther and Gid look on. Makolekekole camp set up next to the school MAKOLEKOLE!! The Brilliant Ashwell, my constant and cheerful companion Chief Chitungulu’s Kapaso pays a visit Some young water carriers we met at Chief Chitungulu’s Community help with the bricks for the well surround Collecting sand from the Lumimba for the gravel pack Collecting water from a neighbour’s well for drilling Villagers collecting water from the Lumimba River bed Ashwell and friends catch a ride Adrian makes the rains come early – welcome cooling from43°! Quiz time for grades 1,2,3 and 4 – in the new classroom The lovely Esther – ever busy, ever smiling! Everyone helped! All hands on deck to take the casing pipes to the borehole Girl Power. The final casings go in - it takes a lot of strength and good balance – Amon Banda is the expert.
