Tyson LeBlanc Head Football Coach Oswego East High School Pop Warner was founded in1929 and continues to grow and serves as the only youth football, cheerleading & dance organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to participate. Pop Warner's commitment to academics is what separates the program from other youth sports around the world. Since 1929, the Pop Warner Philosophy has been that athletics and scholastics go hand in hand. At every level, Pop Warner programs seek to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and dance but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time. Kids compete with kids of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict AGE & WEIGHT MATRIX that reduces the risk and reality of injuries. USA Football Certified Coaches using standardized techniques. The Oswego Bears has been a feeder program to OEHS since its inception in Oswego 7 years ago. Pop warner is a Head’s Up Football program – see attachment. Pop Warner does not track personal tallies of touchdowns or yards rushing per game. We don't count sacks or blocked kicks. We applaud the athletic efforts of the team to reinforce the importance of teamwork, with each member. Oswego Bears coaching has and will continue to implement plays and terminology from the high school coaches so incoming freshman will Have a better understanding during this transition. Oswego Bears staff will be able to attend coaching clinics put on by the high school staffs. Oswego Bears to participate in the Community Bash at OEHS. Summer camps available for kids entering 1st-8th grade in the fall. Home games at Oswego East High School. For Questions regarding Pop warner, please contact Jeremy Swanson (President) at [email protected] or Jim Provow (Head Coach Midget Division) 7-8th grade at [email protected] Any questions regarding the Combines or Skill Days please contact me at [email protected] Chicagolandpopwarner.org Oswegobears.com February 16, 2015 Dear Bednarcik Parents, In an effort to streamline operations and continue to grow our technology capabilities in District 308, Bednarcik Junior High is piloting an ID card swipe system in our cafeteria for all student purchases. This also allows students to easily check out books in the LRC and to print work in our classes. Instead of typing in their student ID number on a keypad, students will be able to swipe their ID card through a barcode reader. We have already begun the testing phase at one of our three cafeteria lines with positive results. Swiping an ID is much faster than entering a PIN number and it provides an added level of security. Right now students have the option to swipe their ID or enter a PIN as they always have. However, we are planning to phase out PIN # keypads at the start of the fourth quarter, March 16, 2015. We need your help in reinforcing this message to students and stressing the importance of bringing their ID to school every day, keeping it on them at all times and being careful not to misplace it. Students that lose their ID are required to purchase a new one for $5.00. We look forward to rolling out this pilot and providing students with added convenience and more time to enjoy their meals. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Niewinski. Thank you, Marc Arakelian Aramark General Manager
