Library Book Renewals/Fines:
o Students may renew their books one time on their own on their LRC account. Students my login to their LRC
account by clicking on Learning Resource Center, then Bednarcik Card Catalog, then the blue words,
Bednarcik. You login with your ID number and six digit birthday. Once in your account, click My Info and renew.
However, just because you click renew on your account does not mean it renewed for you. You MUST READ
the pop-up. It may not renew for you if the book is on hold for someone else, you’ve already renewed it once
yourself or if you have a fine. If you need the book longer, stop by the circulation desk ASAP. If they book is on
hold for someone else, we can renew it for one more week. If you have a fine, we can renew the book as long as
your fine is fewer than .50 cents. Check your “View history” button to see how many times you have already
renewed your book.
o Lost Books: If you have lost the book, we will renew it for you for two more weeks so you have time to look for
it. If you cannot find the book after renewing it, please pay for the book so we can purchase a library bound copy
for all to enjoy again. Please do not purchase the book yourselves since we use a specific vender and require
library bound copies to be used at school. Check your “View history” button to see how many times your book has
been renewed. If you find the book after paying for it, we do refund your money minus any overdue fines you may
have accumulated from the time you lost the book to the time you paid for the book.
o Book Fair Rules: If you have an outstanding book fine you will not be allowed into the fair until that fine is paid
off. We strongly believe that if you have money for the fair, you have money to take care of your responsibilities.
o Printing: Students are required to have their ID card when printing in the LRC.
Pick-up/Drop-off:
o Parents—PLEASE PULL FORWARD TO DOOR 1 when picking up or dropping off your students. To avoid
traffic concerns and back-ups, possible accidents, and to focus on student, staff, and family safety, we
would greatly appreciate your cooperation with this.
Absence Line:
o Parents: when you are calling in to report a student absence, please provide symptoms or reasons for the
absence.
Student ID’s:
o In an effort to streamline operations and continue to grow our technology capabilities in District 308, Bednarcik
Junior High is piloting an ID card swipe system in our cafeteria for all student purchases. This also allows
students to easily check out books in the LRC and to print work in our classes.

Are You Looking for a Way to Position Your Student for Success in
High School and College?
Did you know…..?
*80% of college-bound students have yet to choose a major?
*Once they do, 34% of students choose a major based on other peoples’
opinions, or just chance?
*As many as 50% of college students change majors — with many doing so two
and three times?
Luckily, there is now an innovative, fun process for making better decisions
based on discovering PASSION that leads to PURPOSE.
Would your family’s life be different if your student could…
 Be actively engaged in choosing activities and classes for HS that support their
purpose and passion?
 Choose the college major or job path perfectly suited for him/her?
 Identify and remove limiting beliefs and thoughts about their potential?
 Feel more confident and self-empowered with renewed sense of purpose?
Your family CAN have this, and it’s EASY and AFFORDABLE.
If you have an 8th grade student preparing for High School, or a High School
student preparing for college, this is your opportunity to help bring clarity and
focus to their life.
Contact me for a free phone consultation to find out if this service is right for
your family. I’m local- I am a parent in District 308!

Pop Warner was founded in1929 and continues to grow and serves as the only youth football,
cheerleading & dance organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in
order to participate.
Pop Warner's commitment to academics is what separates the program from other youth sports
around the world.
Since 1929, the Pop Warner Philosophy has been that athletics and scholastics go hand in hand.
At every level, Pop Warner programs seek to develop well-rounded young men and women who
learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and dance but also the importance of
education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.
Kids compete with kids of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program
(local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict AGE & WEIGHT MATRIX that reduces
the risk and reality of injuries.
USA Football Certified Coaches using standardized techniques.
The Oswego Bears has been a feeder program to OEHS since its inception in Oswego 7 years ago.
Pop warner is a Head’s Up Football program – see attachment.
Pop Warner does not track personal tallies of touchdowns or yards rushing per game. We don't
count sacks or blocked kicks. We applaud the athletic efforts of the team to reinforce the
importance of teamwork, with each member.
Oswego Bears coaching has and will continue to implement plays and terminology from the high
school coaches so incoming freshman will
Have a better understanding during this transition.
Oswego Bears staff will be able to attend coaching clinics put on by the high school staffs.
Oswego Bears to participate in the Community Bash at OEHS.
Summer camps available for kids entering 1st-8th grade in the fall.

Dear Bednarcik Parents,
In an effort to streamline operations and continue to grow our technology capabilities in District 308,
Bednarcik Junior High is piloting an ID card swipe system in our cafeteria for all student purchases. This
also allows students to easily check out books in the LRC and to print work in our classes.
Instead of typing in their student ID number on a keypad, students will be able to swipe their ID card
through a barcode reader. We have already begun the testing phase at one of our three cafeteria lines
with positive results. Swiping an ID is much faster than entering a PIN number and it provides an added
level of security.
Right now students have the option to swipe their ID or enter a PIN as they always have. However, we
are planning to phase out PIN # keypads at the start of the fourth quarter, March 16, 2015.
We need your help in reinforcing this message to students and stressing the importance of bringing
their ID to school every day, keeping it on them at all times and being careful not to misplace it.
Students that lose their ID are required to purchase a new one for $5.00.
We look forward to rolling out this pilot and providing students with added convenience and more time
to enjoy their meals. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact Mr.
Niewinski.
Thank you,
Marc Arakelian
