WELCOME!
Camp brings back many memories and images to campers both young and old. It is a powerful experience that can strengthen
the values that you as parents are teaching daily. Whether it’s through arts & crafts or swimming, through field trips or sports,
or through various outdoor / indoor adventure activities, Y summer camp counselors have always allowed kids to be kids while
staying safe during the heat of the summer. At the YMCA of Greater Williamson County, we offer a wide array of summer camp
options to meet every camper’s needs. All of our summer camps are designed to make summer fun, exciting, convenient
and safe, while focusing on the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.

CAMP ASSISTANCE & OUTREACH
We believe every child and family should have the chance to
participate in any Y program and enjoy the benefits of Y
membership. Those not able to pay the full fee may be
awarded partial Financial Assistance based on their
demonstrated ability to pay and the Y’s ability to fund
the subsidy. Since demand is great, Financial Assistance is
awarded subject to available resources. Applications are
available at the Member Services Desk of your local Y.

YMCA Camp Twin Lakes offers summer days filled with exciting outdoor
adventures that help children discover confidence and character, build
friendships and learn independence as well as problem-solving skills.
Centrally located in Cedar Park near US 183 and IH-45, we are convenient
for daily drop-off and pickup on a 55-acre site filled with oak trees, two lakes,
fields and outdoor/indoor adventure activity areas that make campers feel
like they are 100 miles away from real life. Parents can trust that the
adventures at YMCA Camp Twin Lakes are led by a well-trained camp staff
whose primary focuses are their campers and safety.

Units
Campers at YMCA Camp Twin Lakes
are placed in Units by grade level
and then into Trail Groups with an
individual counselor in a ratio
between 1:6 and 1:15 (depending on
age) for maximum fun. Our staff has
customized the daily activities and
age requirements with safety and
progression of skill building in mind
to better meet camper needs with
age-appropriate activities. UNITS
are also given a COLOR to foster
team-unity.

Use high-tech computer gear,
live-feed cameras, remote-control
drones and airsoft markers to
plan missions and work together
to accomplish goals.
Robotics

Learn basic robotics and
engineering concepts while
working as a team to design, build

Daily Schedule
Each week at our Excursion Camps,
participants will not only spend three
days on-site, but will also have two
days of off-site activities.
During their on-site days, campers
will engage in enrichment activities
and special events. While off-site,
campers will head out on a field trip
or another unique excursion. Of note,
at least one of the off-site activities
each week will include swimming.

Our CIT program is a four-week program for teens
entering 9th or 10th grade during the upcoming fall
semester. The program will teach leadership skills, problem
solving, communication skills and work ethics. The first
week of the program will consist of teambuilding activities,
CPR / First Aid training, professionalism seminars, job
training and other sessions about working with children in
a camp environment. Weeks 2-4 will be spent at a local Y
summer camp location where each CIT participant will be
paired with a seasoned counselor to gain hands-on
experience using the training that they received.
At each of our Y camps, our counselors are chosen for their
maturity, skills, patience, enthusiasm and desire to be good
role models for children. Staff undergo extensive training in
the areas of:
The health and safety of each camper is our primary
concern. With that in mind, our counselors are backgroundchecked, trained in the above mentioned areas plus Child
Safe training and accident prevention. Additionally, staff
certified in water safety are present during all water
activities.
All of our equipment and facilities are inspected daily,
including the lakes at YMCA Camp Twin Lakes which
undergoes water quality tests monthly and as needed. Each
of our camps are licensed by either the Texas Department of
State Health Services or the Texas Department of Family &
Protective Services.

All candidates for this program must complete an application
as well as three reference forms and attend an interview to
be accepted into the program. Once accepted, participants
must register for the program and complete all four weeks in
order to receive a certificate of completion.
