The City of Tomah Parks and Recreation Department, under the direction of the Parks
and Recreation Commission, continues to plan, develop, and supervise the Park System,
Recreation Park, Aquatic Center, and provide fun-filled recreational and leisure
activities for the citizens of Tomah.

Proof of City Residency is required to acquire season passes or punch pass at the

FAMILY DEFINED — Family is defined as all persons who are immediately
related by blood or legal marriage, including adopted/foster children who
permanently reside at the address. “Extended” family members will not be
honored with a family pass. All season pass registrations are subject to review and
approval.

The Torpedoes Swim Team program is an introductory instructional swim team.
The goal for each participant is to become a better swimmer, develop
sportsmanship & teamwork, improve physical fitness & self-esteem
& have FUN in a low competitive environment!
Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30-6:00 p.m. and Fridays 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Open to all swimmers ages 7 to 18 Swimmers must pass a 25 Meter swim test to join the team

Father’s Day-Sunday, June 21, Fathers accompanied by
their family receive free admission.
Military Appreciation Day-Sunday, July 5, Any military
personnel (active or retired) and their family receive free
admission.
AQUATIC CENTER RULES & POLICIES
If you plan to leave the pool and come back (same day), you will need to get your hand
stamped by the pool attendant prior to leaving the facility
Children ages 6 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times, and will not be
allowed in the facility unless accompanied by an adult.
The pool will close if there is heavy rainfall, danger of an electrical storm, is unusually cold
outside, or due to lack of participants. Decisions for lessons will be made every half hour. Contact the pool at (608)374-7446 for further information. Cancellation Hotline: 608-374-7449
Rain checks will be issued if the pool closes within the first hour of open swimming for
any reason, otherwise there are NO daily admission refunds.
Slides will close due to lack of staff or unruly behavior by participants.
If a child has more than one time-out in a day, they will be removed from the pool with a
phone call to the parents.

TOMAH PUBLIC LIBRARY’S SUMMER 2015 PROGRAM
Start your summer right by avoiding the summer slide and having some fun with the Tomah Public Library. Registration at the Tomah Public Library will begin June 10th and continue all summer.

2) Complete your reading log
3) Return reading log to the library…and pick out a brand new book and other prizes
Join us at the kick-off party on June 19th 2:00pm at the front of the library.
Mondays and Tuesdays- 10 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. Storytime. Children listen to a variety of engaging stories followed
by craft time.
Tuesdays-12:30a.m. LUNCHBUNCH for grades 2 and up. Children listen to a chapter from a story while they eat
their lunch; craft time follows.
Monday nights - 6:30p.m. Storytime. Children listen to a variety of engaging stories followed by craft time.
Thursday nights-6:00p.m. Dinner and A Movie. For grades 6-12. Come watch a movie on the big screen at the
library. We will provide popcorn, pizza, and water. Call ahead to find out which movie is playing. 374-7470.
Complete the summer reading program and attend the big “end-of-the-summer-readingparty” on August 21st 10:30 AM at Fireman Park. Every year we try to make the end-of-the
summer party better than the year before, come and see what we have planned for this
year’s party.
Winnebago Wednesday!
The Parenting Place has your ticket to your summer fun! Winnebago Wednesday starts June 17 th- August 5th from
10:00am- 11am at Winnebago Park (Ellen Drive and Brandon Street). Winnebago Wednesday is open to anyone in
Monroe County. Every Week there is a different theme; some of the themes include Nature Day, Transportation Day,
Petting Zoo and many more. There is a variety of different games, art, pretend play, learning and fun with a focus on
infants through school-age children. A guardian/parent/ child care provider must be with a child/ren at all times.
There is no charge for attending. Please note that we do not meet if it is raining. Check our Facebook page for other
weather related cancellations. Mark it on your calendar. We hope to see everyone there! Stay tuned for a calendar of

nation. It is a paddle sport created for all ages and
skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is
easy for beginners to learn.
