VAV electronic diffuser
VAV Electronic Diffuser Typical system application with electronic bypass (EB) damper and optional SPC-800 static pressure control HOW IT WORKS: The automatic changeover duct sensor located on the diffuser senses whether there is warm air or cool air in the branch supply duct. If the thermostat calls for cooling and the duct sensor determines there is cool air in the duct, the diffuser will open; otherwise it will remain closed. If the thermostat is calling for heat and the duct sensor determines there is warm air in the duct, the diffuser will open; otherwise it will remain closed. As individual zone dampers open and close, the system static pressure will rise and fall. In order to maintain proper airflow and static pressure through the HVAC system, a bypass system incorporating a floating type motorized damper and a static pressure control should be used. The static pressure control is equipped with solid-state switching and timing circuit to enhance operation and improve reliability. FEATURES: • VAV diffuser neck sizes 6, 8,10, 12, 14 • LED status indication • Auto changeover • Controls are pre-wired from factory • Minimum position adjustment • No control panel required SYSTEMS 5418 Elmwood Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46203 • 888.652.9663 • FAX 317.227.1034 www.jacksonsystems.com VAV Electronic Diffuser Available in 6” to 14” neck sizes for nominal 24“x24” face sizes Available in 6” and 8” neck sizes for nominal 12”x12” face sizes OPERATION: Diffusers incorporate an internal modulating disk that continually regulates the volume of supply air in response to a wall-mounted thermostat. The VAV diffuser is designed to maintain coanda effect (draft free) of discharge air along the ceiling, providing a sustained velocity throughout the volume range. Operating the diffuser from an individual wall-mounted thermostat enables users to choose their own desired comfort control from desk top level, rather than a stratified ceiling level. FEATURES: Wall-mounted thermostatic control Temperature is controlled within an individual zone from a wall mounted thermostat. Powerful, low voltage actuator Floating-point actuators are standard. True variable air volume in heating and cooling modes The diffuser effectively regulates the amount of supply air into the space and uses a wall mounted thermostat to achieve true VAV control in heating mode, as well as cooling mode. Automatic change over from heating to cooling is standard. If a single zone system or multiple zone systems are used to zone more than 30% of the total CFM served by the HVAC system, a bypass damper may be required to maintain constant system static pressure. Maximum air volume range is from 118 to 710 CFM Adjust minimum and maximum air flows. 1-40 VA transformer will power a single Smart zone system=1 Master 1 Thermostat and up to 19 slave/drone actuator/diffusers. 1-75 VA transformer will power a single Smart zone system=1 Master 1 Thermostat and up to 36 slave/done actuator/diffusers. 18-8 GA wire shall be supplied by others approx. $95.00 a roll which= 250ft of wire SYSTEMS 5418 Elmwood Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46203 • 888.652.9663 • FAX 317.227.1034 www.jacksonsystems.com Specification Sheet VAV Electronic Diffuser 24” 24” “A” 6.625” 2.5” 2.75” SIDE VIEW TOP VIEW SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION: The electronically controlled variable air volume diffuser shall be the Jackson Systems VAV Electronic Diffuser. The removable face plate (minimum of 18 gauge steel) attached to a unitary stamped seamless backbone. The diffusers shall include an integral modulating disk that continually regulates the volume of supply air in response to the wall-mounted thermostat. Diffusers dependent on integral air induction ceiling-located sensors or set point adjustment methods other than from wall-mounted thermostats shall not be acceptable. To ensure finite control of temperature by modulation, the electric 24Vac actuators shall be a drive-open, drive-closed motor on the electrically driven units. Actuators that incorporate an expanding material which only drives the unit open when subjected to heat-causing electrical current, requiring a spring return mechanism to force the diffuser to a closed position shall not be acceptable. Electronic modulating wall-mounted thermostatic control shall be either a 2 to 10Vdc or floating-point. All field wiring, materials and labor shall be supplied and installed by others. DIMENSIONS: SE-HC are available in 12” x 12” and 24” x 24” face sizes with “A” neck sizes in 6”, 8”, 10”, 12” and 14” diameters. APPLICATION: Used to vary the supply air volume from a wall-mounted thermostat. Diffuser is designed to maintain coanda effect (draft free) of discharge air along the ceiling, providing a sustained discharge velocity throughout the volume range of 118 to 710 CFM. OPERATION: Incorporates an integral modulating disk that continually regulates the volume of supply air in response to the wall-mounted thermostat.
