Spanish Vocabulary – Outside Words
PRINTABLES
As you explore this lesson pack with your child, I encourage you to take a learning through
play approach. By watching the video along with a Find-It Worksheet, your child will become
familiar with the Spanish words by simply watching a cartoon and coloring their page. Playing
the games, coloring the book and looking for outdoor items on a nature walk can be a fun way
to absorb these new words without the stress of worksheets and tests.
Here are some ideas for using the printables in this pack:
Find-It Worksheets
• Choose the worksheet that is best for your child to watch the video with. Have them
follow along with the video and point out each item as it is found.
• Your child can color their worksheet after the video, becoming familiar with all the items
in the picture.
• Older kids can trace the words or fill in the blanks.
• Attach to a clipboard and go for a walk. Have your child mark off each item they find
outside and name correctly. Try a bingo type dauber for more fun.
Mini Coloring Book
• Print both pages. Cut along dotted lines, stack, then staple the margins. As your child
colors the pictures, he or she will naturally become familiar with the Spanish words.
• You can make an extra copy and cut out the pictures and Spanish names. Have your child
glue them onto a large piece of construction paper to make their own outdoor scene.
Flash Cards / Game Pieces
• If you like, print on cardstock. You or your child write the Spanish words on the back of
each card and use a flash cards
• Print 2 copies and play memory
• Place cards in an empty kleenex box and take turns drawing a card and saying the Spanish
name.
• Print out the page but do not cut the cards. have your child watch the video again and use
a dauber and mark each item as it’s found in the video.
