How to plan your trip
Rider’s guide and route map inside!
Want to get off campus? There’s an easy way to escape using OCTA and our online trip planner.
Just go to www.octa.net/justclick to find the best route from campus to the destination of
your choice. While this brochure highlights key places to play within easy reach using OCTA and
Anteater Express bus routes, OCTA’s Just Click trip planner can help you figure out how to get
anywhere you want to go with the simple click of a mouse. So plan your trip, hop on board, swipe
your U-Pass and hit the road!
Here’s how to use
Just Click:
When will the next bus
arrive? Use Text4Next!
1. Enter your starting point,
destination and when you
want to go.
2. Choose fastest trip, fewest
transfers or shortest walk to
your destination.
3. You’ll get a complete trip plan
with where to catch the bus
and when.
Text 4 Next is OCTA’s new text
messaging program that lets you
use your cell phone to get the next
3 scheduled times the bus will
arrive at your stop. Simply:
1. Text 628246 (OCTAGO)
2. Type the key word (bus), your
stop number and your route
number. Example: bus 3563 71
3. You’ll get the next 3 scheduled
bus arrival times for that stop,
based on the time the text
message was sent.
Example:
959a route 071
1034a route 071
1109a route 071
You can also check arrival times for
future trips - just add in the time
and/or date.
OCTA works closely with the City of Irvine, UCI Transportation Office
and the Transit Advocates on routes, planning and the U-Pass program.

Anteater Express Bus Stops
The perfect route to catch an Angels game, an event at Honda Center, shop at
South Coast Plaza or see a show at SCR. Take Route 79 from Campus and transfer to
Route 57 at the Jamboree/University stop.
Grab your U-Pass and jump on Route 59 if you want to visit The District in Tustin. Of
course you can keep riding and visit Old Towne Orange or the Santa Ana Arts District.
OCTA’s Route 79 is the most direct way for you to travel to Fashion Island in
Newport Beach. It’s just a short 15-minute ride from University Center to all those
shops and restaurants.
Head north on Route 175 and travel to the Woodbridge Movies Five, a discount theater
where you can catch a movie for as little as $1. There’s also a Ruby’s and a nice lake for
you to explore.
175 In under 30 minutes Route 178 can take you to the Orange County Fairgrounds. Catch the
79
OC Fair during the summer or many other year-round events and concerts. A full schedule
