The PXA-H800 provides all the audio processing functions necessary to enable the system to reach the highest levels of sound quality.
Audiophile-grade components
A few years ago, Alpine released the AlpineF#1Status
series of ultra-high performance audio components.
Many of the lessons learned from developing those
models, about high-grade parts and how to apply them, are
now being put to good use in products like the PXA-H800.
One example is the use of four Wolfson 24-Bit D/A converters,
which are generally found only in professional recording systems and help to ensure
superb detail and soundscape. Another is the use of two 32-Bit floating-point SHARC
DSPs, which precisely reproduce the sound source with no degradation. Other top
quality parts are a 6-layer PCB and a 24-Bit A/D converter for high quality RCA input
and 114dB dynamic range at the device level.
ImprintEQ with post-tuning adjustment
ImprintEQ is a hardware/software combination that can
completely overcome the acoustical problems present
in every vehicle interior. It optimises the sound stage,
tonal balance and definition automatically, in just a few
minutes. After the tuning is complete, you can manually
tweak the settings if you desire.
Time Correction and Digital Crossover
Digital Time Correction lets you achieve optimum
sound staging by ensuring that the sounds from all
speakers reach your ears at the same time. Up to 8
channels can be corrected automatically or manually,
from 0 to 20ms in 0.05ms steps. Digital high pass and
low pass filters allow you to set slopes from 0 to –36,
with gain from –24 to 0dB. You can customise your
system with the exact frequency crossovers you want.
Extensive EQ capabilities
The PXA-H800 provides both graphic
and parametric equalisation. The
graphic EQ provides 31 bands for each
of the five channels, plus 10 bands for
the subwoofer, with gain from –12 to
+12dB. The parametric EQ lets you
select a band and then adjust the output level and width for precise tuning. You get
10 bands for each of the five channels, plus 5 for the subwoofer, with detailed Q
settings and gain from –12 to +12dB.
Factory System Upgrading
For those who want to retain their factory head unit, the PXA-H800 is a great way to upgrade the system with more sources and better sound quality.
Six Speaker-Level inputs
With six speaker-level inputs, you can connect six channels of sound from a
head unit and other components that do not have preamp outputs. There’s
no need for separate line output converters.
Add more media sources
With two Ai-NET connections, two optical digital inputs and six-channel RCA
inputs, you’ll have no problem adding components for front and rear seat
entertainment. And of course, with the PXA-H800 in your system, you’re
assured of much higher sound quality than any factory system can provide.

MediaXpander+
This exclusive Alpine technology restores
sound quality that is lost in the recording
or transmission processes. No adjustments are necessary, you just push a
button. MediaXpander+ is especially good for making compressed digital audio
on iPod or other players sound better, but it is also effective for old recordings
on CD, and improves the bass from factory-installed speakers.
Euphony
Euphony makes it possible to enjoy 5.1channel sound from 2-channel sources.
It creates natural surround sound from
CD or iPod with wider soundscapes and
harmonics. It especially enhances vocal
and instrumental quality, for a superior
sound field and no listener fatigue.
RoadEQ
Even superior sound can be degraded by problems like
road noise, wind noise and air conditioner noise. RoadEQ
uses a microphone to record the music plus noise inside
the vehicle. It compares the original and recorded signals,
then creates frequency-specific level adjustments to cancel
the noise components. A powerful processor performs these
operations at 48,000 times per second.

Non-stop sound output
If the amp gets too hot, the Thermal
Protection circuit decreases power until

battery voltage gets too low. When two or
more amps are stacked, heat transfer plates
between them ensure efficient cooling.

Symmetry rubber surround
DDLinear speakers are equipped with a uniquely
designed and precisely engineered corrugated
rubber surround. This supports cone symmetry

Multi-Layer Woofer Cone
The natural mica cone is blended with a special
fiber to create a hybrid diaphragm surface to
optimise cone velocity. The result is virtually
zero distortion and unparalleled accuracy.
Furthermore, a “natural varnish” is applied to
the cone surface to achieve an authentic sound
characteristic.
DX Ring FIX Point Tweeter
The fix point tweeter is unified and forms as an
extension of the woofer cone. As the woofer
and tweeter share the same axis frequency
cancellation is minimised, providing a seamless
blend of high and low frequencies. Also, the
open notch provides optimal dispersion to the
listener and cabin space.
Ring Diaphragm Tweeter
This tweeter is not influenced by the installation. It
uses a structured rear cavity to control atmospheric
pressure and diaphragm movement. This prevents
standing waves and stabilises diaphragm movement
resulting a smoother extension to reproduce natural
sound right up to the high dynamic range of 90kHz.
Compact high grade Crossover
DDLinear speakers feature an ultra-compact and
high quality crossover network. The premium audio
grade Bennic condensers deliver smooth frequency
transition, plus the 5 level tweeter attenuation
provides adjustment to user taste.

6-1/2” (16.5cm) COMPONENT 2-WAY SPEAKER
Alpine’s top-of-the-line, highly accurate Type-X Series speakers and
subwoofers make sure you hear every detail and nuance in your music,
so you get the absolute best out of your system.
This series gives you Type-X quality in a more affordable system, with a
reference woofer, ring dome tweeter and a reference-grade network for
making detailed system settings.
Cross-Cut Woofer Cone
The PRO models feature a cross-cut cone design with fibreglass ribs that allow cone parts
to move independently, preventing the formation of resonant
modes. The Non-Resonant Suspension Coupling eliminates
unwanted resonance from the voice coil connection, for an
unrestricted depth of sound. The woofer uses a heat transfer
aluminium phase plug to maximise cooling efficiency.
Powerful Woofer
The REF woofer uses a cross-rib aluminium cone that is light and stiff for high
efficiency with low distortion. The high grade neodymium
magnet fits inside the voice coil so the speaker is more
compact. The cast aluminium frame is rigid and tough and
the heat transfer motor/frame coupling increases power
handling under extreme conditions.
Ring Radiator Tweeter
Rather than vibrating a diaphragm the way conventional dome tweeters do,
the 1.25” Ring Radiator tweeter has a linear movement. This contributes to
low distortion and exceptionally smooth response with no
harshness or brightness. A non-reflective cast aluminium
tuned air chamber on the back of the tweeter increases SPL
and dynamic response.
Ring Dome Tweeter
This tweeter combines the compact size of a dome tweeter with the high sound quality of
a ring radiator tweeter. The 1” ring dome diaphragm has excellent
dispersion characteristics. Its triple stack neodymium motor structure
focuses magnetic flux in the voice coil gap. A cast aluminium tuned
chamber with heat sink ensures cooling and extends frequency
response. By using the Tweeter Bridge, the component speakers can
be configured as coaxials (cannot use original grille).
Audiophile-Grade Network
This compact, ultra-high quality network allows hundreds of possible tuning settings
for optimum sound in any type of installation and
vehicle. It optimises the performance of the speakers
in any type of installation by minimising colouration and
off-axis balance and correcting phase problems. It also
allows bi-amping and fine tweeter level adjustment.
Reference-Grade Network
Like the Audiophile-Grade version, this network also lets the user make tuning
settings to achieve the optimum sound in any vehicle.
In fact, it is very similar to the higher grade network,
with just a few parts such as resistors being different.
It is also bi-amping capable, allowing the use of two
different amplifiers for the woofer and tweeter.

Aerospace Material Cone
The Kevlar-Rohacell cone is made of lighter and stronger material than
previous models, for less moving mass and greater efficiency. The underside
uses a vented force transfer assembly for
added strength, contributing to high SPL and
fast, accurate response. This combination of
light weight and strength maximises bass
output while ensuring durability.
Large Strontium Magnet
A specially designed, advanced motor structure
and extra-large, triple-stacked strontium
magnets ensure that these subwoofers are
very efficient. In fact, strontium magnets are
used in smaller speakers for their efficiency;
using large strontium magnets in subwoofers
results in extremely high performance.
High-Amplitude Multi Roll Surround
In order to handle extra-high SPL, the suspension has
to travel far and still maintain control. Most designs
sacrifice cone area for a wide surround, or sound
quality for a tall surround. The High-Amplitude Multi
Roll Surround is formed from injection-moulded multiroll Santoprene™, enabling both a larger cone area
for higher SPL and greater cone excursion for better
sound quality.
Easy-Access Terminals
Simple jumpers with solid-insert, gold-plated
terminals make it very easy to configure
these subwoofers for series or parallel
applications. Dual-woven tinsel leads with
terminals on the same side can handle heavy
gauge speaker wire.
Simple, powerful subwoofer system
Connect two Type-X subwoofers to a PDX amp. The PDX-M12 mono amp is
powerful enough to drive two subwoofers for gigantic bass output.

Impressively powerful bass
Using some of the same technologies as the
Type-R subwoofers, such as HAMR Surround
for extremely long cone excursion while
maintaining maximum control, these speakers

Wave guide focuses the sound
Alpine has developed a Wave Guide for
the cone to further improve sound quality.
Mounted over the centre cap, it prevents
phase distortion of the sound waves from
the diaphragm, and focuses the sound for
optimum clarity. (SPR-60C/-50C only)
New Technologies Improve Bass Sound
A new FEA Optimized Motor Structure with exclusive High Amplitude Multi Roll
(HAMR) suspension results in extreme X-max and SPL output. The Compound
Radius Curve pole geometry provides an ultra symmetrical magnetic field, while
optimising flux density for lower distortion with higher power handling. The
Radial Vented VC Heatsink and Airflow Management System minimises power
compression for extended play time. Construction is greatly improved with their
yellow Conex Spider and reinforced cone structure.

parts and advanced designs, including a
multilayer cone that is both light and strong,
and a Linear Drive Magnet and Dual Gap
Voice Coil structure that ensures maximum

Swivel Tweeter

feature a Ring tweeter that swivels to
improve off-axis response in less-thanideal locations. You can aim it by hand for
best imaging and staging at your listening
