Aga Cookers --- Gas-fired models 1968 - Present Very early GC with elevated flue diverter Models GC GE GCB GEB (Conventional Flue) Introduced in March 1968, in the De-Luxe styling. Two (C) or Four (E) ovens with domestic hot-water boiler option (B) * Versions were available for use with Towns gas, Natural gas or LPG either Propane or Butane * Flue connection was to a conventional, open-flue system or chimney. Early models had the draught diverter elevated in the flue pipe at high level but this was later brought down on to the top of the Aga. * 1976 Four oven models were supplied with separate top-plates for the left and right-hand sides. * 1978 Town gas version deleted. * 1988 Burner design modified to incorporate Junkers controls. Butane gas option deleted. * 1993 Burner redesigned incorporating SIT controls * 1996 Combustion discharge device (flue spillage stat) added, resulting in full CE product approval * 2008 Option of models GC & GE fitted with Aga Intelligent Management System (AIMS) allowing the cooker to be programmed between fully ON Normal and a reduced standby temperature. From 2011 No heat indicator has beeen fitted on these models Early GC with standard flue diverter Current GE model with SIT burner controls Early GC Balanced Flue model with natural draught oven venting. Agamatic boiler fitted to r/h side Later GC Balanced Flue model with fan-assisted oven venting. Typical Balanced Flue terminal. Models GC GE GCB GEB (Balanced Flue) Introduced in March 1968, in the De-Luxe styling. Two (C) or Four (E) ovens with domestic hot-water boiler option (B) * Versions were available for use with Towns gas, Natural gas or LPG either Propane or Butane * Flue connection was at the rear immediately through the wall. Early models had rectangular flue boxes, later 1974, changed to concentric round tubes. Up to 36” length tubes were available, Styling and changes generally followed the OF models Oven venting was natural draught via a small copper pipe to outside. * 1988 Burner design modified to incorporate Junkers controls. Butane gas option deleted. * 1990 Fan-assisted oven vent option offered, becoming standard from 1991 onwards. Recognisable by the raised shroud at centre rear of top-plate * 1992 Flue tube length standardised at 24” maximum * 1993 Burner redesigned incorporating SIT controls * 1996 Full CE product approval * 2014 Still current production Models GC, GCB, GE Power Flue models Introduced in 1996. Current production Two (C) or Four (E) ovens with domestic hot-water boiler option (B). No boiler option available for 4 oven cooker * Suitable for use with either Natural gas or LPG Propane * Small diameter, purpose made, stainless steel flue pipe could extend up to 6 metres with 6 bends to reach outside, offering flexibility of cooker siting. * Integral flue and oven vent fan within the Aga * 2004 3 oven model introduced GC Power flue with ‘Special Edition’ trim Models GC3 Three Oven Open-flue model Introduced in 2003. Current production * Incorporating Roasting, Baking and Simmering ovens within a 2 oven outline * Suitable for either Natural gas or Propane using a Maxitrol gas valve burner * Initially Open (conventional) flue only * 2004 Power flue option became available. Recognisable by the raised shrouds across the rear of the top-plate * Hotcupboard could be attached giving a total of 5 ovens (GC5) * No boiler option GC3 Power flue DC5 Aga Dual-Control models DC3 DC5 Introduced in 2014 * Single gas burner providing heat to the three ovens. * Boiling plate and Simmering plate individually heated by electric elements. * Incorporating Roasting, Baking and Simmering ovens within a 2 oven outline. (DC3) * Optional hotcupboard available for providing a total of 5 ovens (DC5) Hotcupboard heated by its own separate electrical element. * Natural gas only * Power flue only, restricted to a maximum length of 4 metres. * Oven venting via power flue system * Integral plinth raises top-plate working height to 910mm * Remote thermodial replaces traditional heat indicator Gas Burner & Control Types 1968-1988 Mk1 1993-Current Mk3 SIT control 2008-Current 2& 4 oven models with AIMS 1988-1993 Mk2 Junkers control 2004-Current 3 oven Power flue model 2008-Current 2& 4 oven PF models with AIMS
