NATURAL GAS INFRASTRUCTURE
ATCO builds, owns, operates and maintains
a safe, reliable network of natural gas
transmission and distribution facilities in
Alberta, Canada and Western Australia. In
Alberta, we transport clean, efficient highpressure natural gas from producers and
other pipelines to utilities, power generators
and major industries. With peak delivery
of 3.8 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural
gas per day and approximately 8,500 km
of high-pressure pipeline, ATCO serves
customers through nearly 4,000 receipt
and deliver points.
As Alberta’s largest natural gas distribution
company, ATCO has delivered safe, reliable,
cost-effective natural gas for more than
100 years. We serve nearly two million
customers through 53,500 km of lowpressure natural gas pipelines in Alberta
and Western Australia.
ATCO owns and operates midstream
infrastructure and has ownership interest
in natural gas gathering and processing,
deep cut extraction and storage facilities
in Western Canada. We provide flexible,
integrated solutions for our customers and
our experience in developing and operating
infrastructure means we can deliver these
services safely, reliably and in the most costeffective manner possible.
ATCO has been awarded a contract by the
Comisión Federal De Electricidad to design,
build and operate a natural gas pipeline
near the town of Tula in the state of Hidalgo,
Mexico. We will be responsible for the 16 km
pipeline that will transport natural gas to fuel
the existing Francisco Pérez Rios power
plant near Tula.
POWER GENERATION
ATCO is an experienced builder, owner and
operator of independent power generation
plants with a solid reputation for providing
industry leading, reliable, responsible and
cost-effective solutions for our customers
and partners around the world. We have
an ownership position in 16 power
generation plants in Canada and Australia
with a combined capacity of more than
3,890 megawatts.
ATCO and partner Grupo Hermes S.A. de
C.V. have been selected by Pemex affiliate
PMX Cogeneracion S.A.P.I de C.V. to begin
the project development and approval
process for a natural gas cogeneration plant
at the Miguel Hidalgo refinery near Tula in
the state of Hidalgo, Mexico.
ELECTRICITY INFRASTRUCTURE
ATCO builds, owns, operates and maintains
safe, reliable networks of electricity
transmission and distribution lines in
Alberta, the Yukon and the Northwest
Territories. With 70,000 km of distribution
and 11,000 km of transmission lines,
we deliver electricity to nearly 248,000
customers which include towns, cities,
farms, major industrial developments, and
Indigenous communities.
STRUCTURES & LOGISTICS
We offer complete infrastructure solutions
to customers worldwide, including workforce
housing, innovative modular facilities,
construction, site support services, logistics,
operations management, catering, acoustical
consulting, industrial noise reduction and gas
turbine systems. ATCO has manufacturing
facilities in North America and Australia, and
operations on five continents.
