On March 19, 2012 Governor John Kasich signed an executive order making Ohio an Employment First state. Ohio joined the nationwide movement of moving individuals with developmental disabilities from segregated to integrated employment. The employment initiative supports individuals with development disabilities to obtain work opportunities in their community, earning a competitive wage and working alongside non-disabled peers. ARC Industries supports this initiative by providing employment support services and helps link individuals with community employers. Currently we have 500 individuals in integrated employment and the number continues to rise. Together with numerous community partners we can add gainful employment and add value to companies that employ them.
