More than 60 Years of Future.
The start of a never-ending success story.
With the breakthrough of the ‘Pickup’ in 1949, Rudolf Wanzl Sr.
changed shopping the world over. The ‘Concentra’ shopping trolley
followed in 1955, the form of which has carried through to the
­present day, just like the success story of the former “Workshop
for trolley manufacturing”. Since being founded in 1947, the family
­company has grown continuously.
The historical basis for this success story is above all the
r­ ecurring prosperity following the Second World War. With the
boom in self-service shops in the 1950s, Wanzl received its
first major orders.

Today, more than 3,500 people work for Wanzl at seven
­ roduction sites around the world. In their work, they focus on
p
new business areas and products, as well as extraordinary
product design, consistently high levels of quality and extensive
manufacturing depth. The result is a product that will make Wanzl
successful into the future: completely satisfied customers.

The Nature of Things.
Wanzl is also on the ball when it comes
to environmental protection.
We are aware that our activities affect the environment. As a
result of this awareness, along with our deep-held belief, it is our
natural duty to reduce the consequences for the environment to
as reasonable and small an amount as possible.

As our oldest location, Leipheim is of particular importance
for Wanzl, both strategically and with regard to social and
­environmental responsibility policy. Especially here, on the green
Swabian banks of the Danube, with its unique meadowy

­protected. Just as with all the other Wanzl locations around

A further innovation from Wanzl: the SoftDrive castor with
­ lastomer damping. The patented system enables maximum

­smoothness of running with minimal noise generation on all
