Q
Quetta, The Fruit Garden of Pakistan
Welcome you
Quetta is the provincial capital of Baluchistan and 9th largest
city of Pakistan. Quetta is at an average elevation of 1,680
meters (5,510 feet) above sea level, making it Pakistan's only
high-altitude major city. The population of the city is estimated
to be approximately three million. The city is known as the fruit
garden of Pakistan, due to the numerous fruit orchards in and
around it, and the large variety of fruits and dry fruits produced
there. The immediate area has long been one of pastures and
mountains, with varied plants and animals relative to the dry
plains to the west.
It is located in northern Baluchistan near the PakistanAfghanistan border, it is a trade and communication center
between the two countries. The city lies on the Bolan Pass
route which was once the only gateway from Central Asia to
South Asia.
The Pashtun traditional dishes such as Kadi kebab and Lamb
Roast and Balochi Saji and other traditional dishes are
available around the city especially at Prince Road, Jinnah
Road and Serena Hotel. The Pashtun tribal cuisine “Roast”,
which non-locals call “Namkin”, is served in city restaurants as
well as in the outlying areas. The Pashtun tribal dish, “Landhi”,
is made of a whole lamb which is dried and kept fresh during
the cold winter.
The Khojak Tunnel (Sheilla Bagh Tunnel) is a 3.91 kilometers
long railway tunnel located in Killa Abdullah district of
Balochistan (Province of Pakistan), near Pak-Afghan border at
Chaman. It is located 1,945 meters above sea level. The
tunnel was constructed in 1891 under the Khojak Pass and
remains one of the longest tunnels in South Asia, and the
longest in Pakistan. It is expected to be surpassed by the 8.6
km Lowari Tunnel, currently under construction, in
2009.Hanna Lake, Hazarganji Chiltan National Park, Pir
Ghaib, Chiltan Hill Viewpoint, The Quetta Geological Museum
are the main attraction while The Balochistan Arts Council
Library houses arts and crafts from the province.
Ziarat is the main attration located at altitude of 2543
meters and is a famous holidays resort of Balochistan. It was
the summer residence of the Chief Commissioners of
Balochistan and Sanatorium for the European troops. It is
about 125km from Quetta. It is famous for Quaid-e-Azam
Residency Juniper Trees and Tourists attraction in summer.

Society have decided to hold its 21st International
Psychiatric Conference at Quetta, Balochistan Pakistan. In
pursuance of society decision the chairman organizing
committee and all members of Balochistan chapter have
decided the dates and venue for conference from 27th to
30th October 2016 at Quetta Serena Hotel Quetta.

discuss all aspects of psychiatrist disorders and issues.
• The participants will outline the recent scientific advances
in field of mental health and psychiatry and the clinical
database will use to assist risk factors for diseases.
• It will provide platform to exchange knowledge and
impart training among psychiatrists, general physicians,
clinicians, researchers, students and community health
workers.
• The participants will increase public awareness and
de-stigmatize mental health issues.
• Make liaison with other medical and behavioral sciences.
• Develop and implement programs during the conference.
• Impart the way which researchers conduct researches.
• Provide platform for national and international
pharmaceuticals for drugs exhibitions to introduce new
and old drugs.
The researches, meeting reports and the data will
coordinate for future planning and policies.
The theme of the conference “Healing & Peace through
Mental Health” is interesting and stimulating for psychiatrists
as well as for neurologists, neurosurgeons, physicians and
allied fields of social and behavioral sciences. Therefor we
are expecting a large number of psychiatrists, neurologists,

psycho-pharmacists,
intellectuals, psychologists, social workers, NGO/INGO,
government officials, scientists and spiritual leaders around
the country & abroad.
The agenda of conference in scientific program will be paper
