Alberta Open Farm Days is about farmers and ranchers ALBERTA OPEN FARM DAYS IS A PROVINCEWIDE OPEN HOUSE inviting their urban and rural neighbours to stop in for a visit to share stories, see demonstrations, and learn more about the farmers who grow their food. On August 23, some of Alberta’s most talented chefs and rural communities will be hosting a memorable series of farm to table culinary events that will be held around the province, using Alberta farm products. More than 60 farms will open their gates on August 24 for farm tours. Admission is free. Join us and explore Alberta this summer. You’ll come away knowing your neighbours a little bit better and will gain a new appreciation for how farms contribute to our daily lives. Alberta farmers have unique stories to tell and great products to share. Ready to join in the fun? Visit as many farms as you like, and consider staying overnight to experience a full day in rural Alberta. Farms are open to the public on August 24 only. Plan on scheduling at least one hour per stop. Each farm will be offering free admission on August 24, although some farms may charge a fee for certain activities, such as a corn maze, wine tasting and horseback rides. Choose the region you would like to visit and print off the information about the host farms in the area.
