The state economic development commission chose to hold one of its
2014 meetings in Malvern and the Malvern/HSC Chamber of Commerce
hosted. While the commission members were in town, the chamber organized meetings with local elected officials in addition to hosting their meeting at the chamber’s community room.

Cuttin’ up: Chamber hosts many ribbon cuttings in 2014
Ribbon cuttings mean new businesses or new locations
and the Malvern/HSC Chamber of Commerce is happy to
celebrate both. Merchants on this page represent just a few
of the ribbon cuttings held by the chamber in 2014.
Anytime Fitness held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Nov. 18 to officially open its new
gym at 608 Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Family Market moved from its old location on the corner of McNeal and Hall streets
to the former USA Drugs building at 437 East Page. In addition to grocery items, the
store also sells gasoline 24/7.

Launius said Sykes has
donated a 50-inch flat screen
TV which will be raffled.
Mike Taylor will provide
music for the evening. The
banquet will begin promptly
at 7 p.m., she added.
The purpose for the
banquet is to swear in
chamber officers for the
new year and to recognize
12 outstanding individuals
or businesses with awards
such as Law Enforcement
Officer of the Year, Business
of the Year and Community
Service Award. Recipients
will be announced at the
banquet.

Meteorologist, weather blogger
to be featured banquet speaker
KATV meteorologist Todd Yakoubian will
be the guest speaker at this year’s Malvern/
Hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce
banquet scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22.
Yakoubian, a Little Rock native, earned a
degree in broadcast journalism from the
University of Oklahoma in 1996. After that,
he continued his education at Mississippi
State University, where he was certified as
a broadcast meteorologist. He worked in
Missoula, Mont. and Chattanooga, Tenn.,

Cuttin’ up: Chamber hosts many ribbon cuttings in 2014
Ribbon cuttings mean new businesses or new locations
and the Malvern/HSC Chamber of Commerce is happy to
celebrate both. Merchants on this page represent just a few
of the ribbon cuttings held by the chamber in 2014.
Anytime Fitness held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Nov. 18 to officially open its new
gym at 608 Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Family Market moved from its old location on the corner of McNeal and Hall streets
to the former USA Drugs building at 437 East Page. In addition to grocery items, the
store also sells gasoline 24/7.

banquet is to swear in
chamber officers for the
new year and to recognize
12 outstanding individuals
or businesses with awards
such as Law Enforcement
Officer of the Year, Business
of the Year and Community
Service Award. Recipients
will be announced at the
banquet.

Meteorologist, weather blogger
to be featured banquet speaker
KATV meteorologist Todd Yakoubian will
be the guest speaker at this year’s Malvern/
Hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce
banquet scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22.
Yakoubian, a Little Rock native, earned a
degree in broadcast journalism from the
University of Oklahoma in 1996. After that,
he continued his education at Mississippi
State University, where he was certified as
a broadcast meteorologist. He worked in
Missoula, Mont. and Chattanooga, Tenn.,

of the Chamber
The community based mission program
for the Malvern/Hot Spring County
Chamber of Commerce is to be a catalyst
to define, develop and sustain community
excellence by identifying significant
issues and recommending strategies and
initiatives necessary to enhance the quality
of life and to expand economic vitality
through mutual collaboration among citizens,
business, industry and education.
The state economic development commission chose to hold one of its
2014 meetings in Malvern and the Malvern/HSC Chamber of Commerce
hosted. While the commission members were in town, the chamber organized meetings with local elected officials in addition to hosting their meeting at the chamber’s community room.
