Unique history and culture
For years, Zanzibar was at the very centre of an ancient
trading empire with vessels coming from as far afield as
Persia, India and China. Trips to sites of architectural and
cultural interest such as Stone Town, Nungwi village and
the spice plantations can be arranged by the hotel. Stone
Town, Zanzibar’s de facto capital, is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, famous for its narrow streets and alleys,
cultural fusion and slave trade past.
At the centre of the island, Jozani Forest Reserve is home to

nature trails. Sykes monkeys, small buck and bushpigs are
