Volunteering Opportunities
Hospitality Homes
This program provides short-term, no-cost housing for families and friends of patients
traveling to Boston for medical treatment. Our wonderful volunteer host families provide
accommodations in their own homes and in doing so, enable patients to have their loved
ones by their sides while they receive treatment at area hospitals. Due to a substantial
increase in demand for our service, we have an urgent need for more host families in
Boston and surrounding areas, particularly Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, Newton and
Needham. If you have a spare room available, please contact us for information on how
you can make a meaningful impact from the comfort of your own home. You decide how
often to host and what types of guests you’re able to accommodate, and guests provide
their own meals and transportation. For details on hosting and other volunteer opportunities:
617.482.4338 or www.hosp.org.
Teacher Bound: The Upward Bound Program at Wheelock College

available throughout the mentee’s high school career beginning in March 2009. Mentors
may support the mentee academically or meet to hang out and talk.

developing a significant relationship. Your relationship with this student will have a
