Scoliosis Screening ‐ Volunteers Needed this Week!
Volunteers are needed this week on Wednesday, March 4th and Thursday, March 5th to
escort students to the scoliosis screening and back to their classrooms.

Lettuce Entertain You! ‐ Salad Bar Special!
On Wednesday, March 11th the Hospitality Committee is
planning a salad bar luncheon for our Las Colinas teachers
and staff. Parents may sign up to bring a large speciality
salad or contribute $5 for the purchase of food (cash or
checks made payable to Las Colinas PTSA delivered to the
front office and marked for 'Hospitality'). Sign Up Here
Science Night
Science Night is Coming Soon! There is something for everyone at this year's Science Night with 95 minutes of pure interactive science fun. Your Mustang has the
opportunity to work hands‐on with all types of scientists: chemists,
biologists, zoologists, rocket scientists, medical professionals,
engineers, and so much more! Science Night is March 18th, 6:30‐8:05 pm. Registration opens March 4th and is first come,
first serve! Mark your calendars!
Science Night Volunteers Needed ‐ Parents and Students!
We need adults to check in students and presenters and we need student ambassadors ‐
current Las Colinas students or alumni! Shifts are 1‐2 hours. Sign Up to Help with Science Night this year!

Pizza Rev Fundraiser!
Have you tried the newest "revolution" in pizza making?
At Pizza Rev (in the Camarillo Premium Outlet Mall), you can
craft your own pizza with any number of toppings, and it will
be ready in 3 minutes!
Support Las Colinas by eating at Pizza Rev on Thursday, March 5th, between 11:00 am and 10:00 pm.

Ventura County Spelling Bee!
Good luck to Las Colinas Spelling Bee Champ Haley Jeffers
at the Ventura County Spelling Bee on March 7th!
Congratulations Las Colinas SAT Teams!
The teams from Las Colinas Middle School took 1st & 2nd place in the second annual SAT
competition at the Camarillo Public Library on February 14. Students were asked 50 SAT questions
and also wrote an essay. Great job Mustangs!
BIG NEWS!
Huge congratulations to Principal Pam Gonzalez on her upcoming retirement ... AND to Vice Principal Erik Goldman, our new Principal beginning the 2015‐16 school year! Intent to Return Form ‐ 2015‐2016
6th & 7th Grade Parents ‐ Your student should have brought home a green "Intent to
Return" form. Please make sure to fill it out and have your student return it to his/her
homeroom teacher as soon as possible. This form lets Las Colinas know that you intend to
return next year. Thank you!
Intra‐District (School Choice) Window
If your student is on a "this year only" choice, you will need to fill out a School Choice form
for their remaining years in attendance at Las Colinas. Priority is given to students who apply
during the 1st school choice window. If you do not reapply, your student will automatically
roll over into their neighborhood school next year.

Tdap Vaccine Required for 7th grade Students
Attention parents of 6th grade students ‐ All students must show proof of a whooping cough
booster (Tdap) shot before they can enter 7th grade. Please see this flyer for more details.

Mark Your Calendars ‐ PVSD & PV Lions Club Wellness Run!
The Camarillo‐Somis Pleasant Valley Lions Club in partnership with the
Pleasant Valley School District is proud to present our 16th Annual 5K &
1‐mile run on Sunday, April 12th, 2015. There will be a 5K Peel Out and
a 1‐mile Bananarama Run. The event will be held at the beautiful

PVSD Chorus 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students are invited to sing with the
PVSD Chorus. Rehearsals are at Los Primeros School on Tuesdays
from 3:30 ‐ 4:30 pm, beginning March 3rd and ending with a

range of support groups for all ages including parents that have lost a child, young children

Camarillo Library Cards give Students Access to On‐Line Resources at Home!
Las Colinas students can use their new on‐line library card from home to access online
homework resources in a wide variety of subjects ‐ from maps to biographies, history to
science, art, culture and more! Students can also access the Camarillo Library's online eBook
collection of more than 1500 titles!
