The World of Water
The thermal water:
true well-being since long ago
Thermal water is born from the Dolomites from where it descends up to 3000 meters underground and slowly flows for
about 25-30 years while getting enriched in beneficial mineral
substances (i.e. potassium, sodium, iodine and silicon). The water then rises up into the Euganean thermal basin at a temperature of 87° C. This water is hot, full of minerals and therapeutic: a very precious source of well-being known since the time of
the ancient Romans who, under the rule of Emperor Augustus (27 B.C. – 14 A.D.) built their Spa exactly in this area.
It is sufficient to dive into our water for realizing that a “simple bath” will help you to dissolve stress and get your
mind and body fitted surrounded by a relaxing and warm atmosphere.
Moreover, the large park surrounded by greenery, hot water falls, hydromassage jets and Japanese paths will make
your physical and mental balance simply perfect.
Take note that our three swimming-pools are fed with thermal water and
are open all year round:

“Salus per Aquam” which means “health through water,” i.e. hydrothermal treatments, has
always been a complementary method to treat rheumatic diseases, respiratory diseases, skin
diseases and other pathologies.
The most important thermal treatment is the MUD THERAPY: a well-being source, without the side effects of
traditional drugs, whose therapeutic effect has been taken advantage of and known since the ancient times.
The combination of thermal water, classified as hyperthermal salt-bromine-iodine, and clay coming from the lakes
of Arquà and Lispida, creates the thermal mud that is used in the mud therapy only after being long matured in
special tanks.
During the two-three months of maturation, thermal water constantly flows on the mud and causes the modification of its chemical-physical characteristics and the development of an organic part (micro-flora and humus) as
well as the enrichment of minerals and ions which increase the plasticity of mud as well as its heat retention index.
The application of thermal mud favors intense skin and muscular vasodilation, an increase in the districtual articular flow with a washout of algetic substances and efficient muscle relaxation. At the general level, the thermal
stress caused by the thermal mud application sets free hormones, which have an anti-inflammatory and pain-killing
effect (i.e. cortisol and endorphins). Mud favors the elimination of toxins and increases diuresis, while also stimulating the production of hormones and causing an efficient anti-stress and anti-ageing effect.
The Hotel Tritone Terme owns two wells for the extraction of thermal water; the mud therapy department has
been completely restored to offer its guests more and more innovative and efficient treatments while being surrounded by the atmosphere of ancient Roman spas. The maturation process as well as the quality of thermal mud
is constantly monitored (O.T.P.) and that is another guarantee of the quality and efficiency of our thermal mud.
Thermal water is rich in salt, bromine and iodine and is very useful to prevent and treat respiratory tract diseases.
Thermal inhalation therapies, inhalations and aerosols are all carried out by compressed air equipment, which
nebulizes thermal water into very small particles and introduces it into the
respiratory airways.
Inhalations nebulize thermal water at the same temperature of source water. These treatments are suitable to treat and prevent diseases in the
upper respiratory tract such as rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis and
tracheitis.
The thermal aerosol breaks the water particles into molecules with a diameter smaller than three microns to allow steam to penetrate deeper into all
branches of the respiratory tract. Suitable for treating bronchitis, bronchial asthma and catarrh cough.

Mud application, Shower and Thermal
Bath with Ozone
Thermal mud is applied onto the areas of the body
recommended by the doctor for about 15/20 minutes, followed by a thermal shower and a warm
thermal bath with ozone in order to stimulate and
activate the blood circulation. The session is carried out in a special single room. A general massage
to restore the muscular and nerve tone is highly recommended after the mud application.
Mud therapy is a specific treatment to treat arthrosis, arthritis, rheumatic pain, and osteoarthropathies and it helps the recovery from traumas or
fractures.

Thermal Bath with Ozone
Thermal water bath enriched with ozone to relieve the straining status caused by the vasodilation
and sweating caused by the mud application. The
ozone bubbles softly massage the body and stimulate and activate the blood circulation and cellular
metabolism: it’s an excellent remedy for those who
suffer from anxiety, circulatory and joint problems,
while it prevents hypertension, arteriosclerosis and
depression.

The treatment involves a relaxing bath in thermal

stimulation occurs by a massage made using only the
thumbs: the lost balance is restored by pressing the
reflex points, general disturbances are melted away

A medical therapy carried out by operators specialized in manual techniques that help solve muscular
and skeletal disturbances.
The most used techniques include vertebra and
joint mobilization and manipulation. The physiotherapist, together with the health director, will
perform a customized rehabilitation program, depending on the patient’s pathology, and will also
use modern equipment (such as laser, ultrasound,
magneto-therapy and electrotherapy).
The ability of our physiotherapists and the number of manual techniques guarantee the results of
each treatment aimed at relieving muscle and joint

ancient cosmologic idea, the universe is comprised of
small particles containing the four elements (air, fire,
water and earth) generating the three humors that determine the person’s state of health: Wind, Bile and
Phlegm. The massage is carried out by using fingers, the
palm of the hand and sometimes elbows or forearms.

In our sauna center, we faithfully reproduced the ancient Roman baths and we designed the spaces
according to the use of the heat produced by the famous Roman ovens fed by wood coal.

The intense spontaneous sweating causes a natural detoxification of the body by eliminating
toxins. Thanks to the transmission of natural
heat, this treatment helps prevent and eliminate a number of physical disturbances above
all those in the digestive system, intestine,
pancreas and stomach; it attenuates gout, migraines and rheumatic and menstrual pains. The
bath is suitable for any person, regardless of
age.
“CALIDARIUM”
Hot steam bath at 45/48°C
The presence of warm steam helps the regulation
of the skin’s pH balance as well as the moisturizing
and cleansing of the skin. It is also recommended
for improving respiratory activity. The addition
of natural essences inhaled through the steam

The word “sauna” comes from Finnish and was
born and spread in Northern cold countries.
Typically the sauna was located in lodges or
huts built close to lakes or water streams and
they were made from fir trunks or birch wood
which was evaporated and left rough so that
wood could keep its capacity to absorb and
transude the steam. In order to fight extreme temperatures the body triggered a thermal

RELAXATION AREA The last stop is in the relaxation area, which is made of natural materials such as trachyte, the
