Sport: La Maurienne, the largest cycling domain in the world,
has signed a partnership agreement with the French Cycling
Federation and hosts all of the training camps undertaken by

des Sybelles is the leading ski area in the Maurienne and
the fourth biggest in France (6 stations, 310km of runs),
cycle tourism in the summer, agriculture and livestock (cattle, sheep), beaufort cheese production area with lots of
mountain pasture
Culture: Parish Church of Notre-Dame of the Assumption
(Savoyard Baroque style which blossomed in Savoy in the
17th century), The Three Crosses (remains of a calvary of 14
crosses erected in the 15th century by locals who survived
the plague), Cromlech (remains from the Neolithic period,
this monument faces the rising sun and might have acted
as a sundial or calendar)
Sport: La Toussuire is a partner of the AG2R La Mondiale professional cycling team and the French Handball Federation,
and sponsors the jersey of the best climber at the Tour de
l’Avenir and Team Sybelles, an amateur cycling team
Specialities: beaufort, fondue, raclette, tartiflette, matafan
(thick savoury pancake), matouille (potato pancake and
cheese). Manufacture of traditional costumes (embroidered
shawls, aprons, caps, Savoy crosses)
