When required, good artificial lighting is essential in classrooms and other
teaching environments. A well-designed classroom lighting solution helps
to improve learning conditions and keep pupils alert and productive. This
Dorset school demonstrates why Arktik is the perfect luminaire for lighting in
classrooms. The sleek, dual-bodied luminaire, with its seamless transparent
housing, gives the impression of a light fitting hovering below the ceiling.
To maximise efficiency this teaching space uses daylight (skylight at rear of
room) as an important light source with the 2 x 24w Arktik luminaires dimmed
accordingly, depending on time of day and time of year. This harmonious
combination works to an energy efficient and pleasing learning environment.

ARKTIK-ME
The inspiration for the Arktik range is the Arctic environment – where
the light is clean, sharp and fresh. The care taken over light output
is matched by the exceptional construction. Produced in precision
forms with the best quality materials, Arktik will enhance any interior
environment. All versions (T5 or LED) are energy efficient, designed
to meet all current regulations, and available in cool or warm colour
lamp temperatures.
Arktik’s slender, satinised clear acrylic luminaire body houses a
T5 lamp, while the electronic gear is held within a separate upper
aluminium canopy that has a cross-section smaller than the luminaire
below. And at just 60mm depth, it can be recessed into shallow
ceiling voids and other areas where traditional size fittings are
not suitable
Shadow-free illumination is guaranteed with the innovative diffuser
design. The drop-down ice frosted wings give soft and subtle ambient
light on the ceiling which creates a mild glow around the luminaire.
