Welcome Letter from
Executive Director
Lynn Tang
Dear EACG attendees,
Welcome to the 2015 Epic Animation Comic and Game (EACG) Fest in
the beautiful East Bay of San Francisco in California. All EACG activities
will be held in the Albany Community Center in the city of Albany. This
will be our very 2nd edition of showcasing animations, comics, and
games. We will be bringing artists from around the world to screen,
exhibit and compete their work for the local audience.
We will be screening over 50 animated films that have been selected
from submissions from all over the world. There will be special guest
appearances from both domestic and international.
This year's gaming tournament features two games, Mahjong, a
traditional game originated in China, and cube puzzle, a classic but very
challenging game. In addition to the fun, we will also be hosting panels
regarding industry updates and a red carpet award ceremony with
recognitions to some of the best competitors.

Mahjong
close up of mahjong tiles
, also spelled majiang (麻将), mah jongg, and numerous other variants, is a game
that originated in China. It is commonly played by four players
(with some three-player
variations found in South Korea and Japan). The game and its regional variants are widely played
throughout Eastern and South Eastern Asia and have a small following in Western countries.
The game is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols
,
although some regional variations use a different number of tiles. In most variations, each player begins
by receiving 13 tiles. In turn players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand using
the 14th drawn tile to form four groups (melds) and a pair (head).
The 2015 EACG will feature a mahjong tournament for the first time. The tournament is open to any
mahjong player with a fest pass, and adopted the rule of World Series of Mahjong. No cash prizes. Prizes
will be given to the Top 8 places in the tournament for each day, and the winners will also receive
