Throughout the years, antiques have
been one of the greatest sources of
furniture inspiration, offering character,
timelessness and enduring appeal.
The Estate Collection from Hooker Furniture is a new
approach to antiques-inspired furniture design. Estate is an
antiques re-mix that re-vitalizes vintage.
While Estate is classic and refined, it achieves an unexpected
freshness through an eclectic mixing of multiple finishes and
wood species.
The 40-piece bedroom, dining room and accent furniture
collection features a primary mahogany finish but also
complementary Black, Silver, Cherry, English Brown Oak, Teak,
Myrtle Burl and Swirl Walnut finishes. Based on 18th and 19th
Century European and American design elements, Estate is
constructed of mahogany solids and veneers, along with cherry,
myrtle burl, oak, teak and swirl walnut on selected pieces. Special
veneer treatments, turnings and contoured shapes offer a unique
look that’s refined and beautiful but approachable and warm.

Estate’s custom hardware was designed with each piece in mind and ranges from a simple knob to a teardrop pull. The brass
finish is Brown Havana Pewter and the silver finish is Modeled Antique Nickel.

Wood & Veneer Construction
Of all the aspects of wood furniture, the finish most visibly reflects its
character, quality and style. While the finish is one of the last things
we do, it’s the first thing you see. That’s why at Hooker, we utilize a
multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an
unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our
finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding,
our finishes “feel” as good as they look, with a smoothness that is
delightful to the touch.
Many of our furniture items are constructed of hardwood solids and veneers
or hand-painted finishes over durable wood products such as medium density
fiberboard (MDF) and particle board. MDF and particle board are used in
quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These
durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and
do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and
longer-lasting furniture. Due to a wide variety of wood species and decorative
designs used in our furniture styles, variations in construction are possible.

certified by the American Home Furnishings Alliance
(AHFA) with EFEC registration. EFEC- “Enhancing
Furniture’s Environmental Culture” – is a voluntary
environmental management and best practices program
created by AHFA for the furniture industry. Hooker’s
EFEC-registered facilities include the corporate office,
central distribution center, secondary distribution center
and customer support center in Martinsville, Va.; two
manufacturing plants, and the offices of Hickory, N.C.based Bradington-Young and one manufacturing plant/
office for Bedford, Va.-based Sam Moore. The AHFA also
recognized our company with an Environmental Excellence
Award for demonstrating excellence in managing corporate
environmental programs.
