Thank you for joining in tonight’s celebration as we salute seven remarkable honorees and their commitment to give back through education and mentoring in the field of marketing. Sir Isaac Newton famously said that we see further standing on the shoulders of giants. This adage captures how we seek to help others. With our 50th anniversary on the horizon, Marketing EDGE has nearly a half century of helping to develop the next generation of marketing talent. While we embarked on a momentous rebrand last year – unveiling our new name change one year ago at the Rising Stars Dinner – we remain committed to our original mission: to Educate, Develop, Grow, and Employ college students in the field of marketing. We are buzzing – more and more students are learning about Marketing EDGE and participating in what our organization has to offer. It’s only fi tting that tonight we pay tribute to those who also represent Sir Newton’s saying. They are the giants of today (and tomorrow). They each demonstrate extraordinary achievements in their professional lives as well as giving back to support future generations of leaders. It is my pleasure to introduce to you the 2014 Rising Stars Award winners: Yvette Lui, Facebook; Dimitri Maex, OgilvyOne; Guillermo Novillo, Microsoft; Carrie Parker, American Express; Emily Riley, Ghostery and Alex Wasserman, TapFwd. You’ll hear more about these distinguished award winners this evening. Joining a host of companies that passionately embrace the core values of educational and leadership development is Paradysz + PM Digital. Marketing EDGE and the students and young professionals with whom we work have benefi ted and grown from its generous support and partnership over the years. It should come as no surprise that the Awards Selection Committee chose this company as the 2014 Corporate Commitment Award winner. Please join me in saluting Paradysz + PM Digital’s commitment to generating marketing innovation through education. 1,675 Collegiate ECHO participants 2008–2012 850 Resumes posted on Job Board May 2013 Our New Name As the only nonprofi t of its kind, Marketing EDGE provides resources directly and through our key constituents resulting in hundreds of hours each month to educate students about the everevolving field of marketing. Marketing EDGE continues to be funded solely through donations from corporations and individuals, including your support of tonight’s benefi t dinner. Please see page 12 for the list of individuals and companies who have supported this year’s festivities. On behalf of our Board and staff, our academic colleagues and the students who aspire to be the next generation of Rising Stars, we thank you!
