THREE BELLS MULES
SADDLES BUILT FOR TODAYS MULES AND HORSES
Welcome to our line of Three Bells Mules saddles. All of our “TBM” saddles are
made with custom fitted trees, and can be custom ordered, or bought from
models we keep in stock. Custom tree fitting service is available to ensure a
correct fit for your mule, or their horse cousins.
Let me take this opportunity to thank you for inquiring about our TBM saddles.
TBM saddles are American made to our specifications, by the R. W. Bowman
Saddle Co. in Tennessee. All saddles are built on Steele saddle trees, a
company that has been making saddle trees since 1848, under the ownership of
one family.
The TBM saddles incorporate design features that have proven to make your
mule/horse a happier riding partner. Our mule saddles (optional for horses) all
feature a full open gullet channel to help prevent painful spinal pressure that
can result in debilitating injuries to your mule or horse, especially at the
junction of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae at
the loin area of the back. A crupper ring is
standard on all mule saddles.
All TBM saddles come standard with round skirts
with a drop rigging set in the 7/8 position.
Standard lining is a Faux Fur lining that is 90% wool
and 10% polyester. A full sheep shearling lining is
available. Pressure relief is provided in the stirrup
area of the tree to help prevent pressure from stirrup leathers causing swelling
and white marks behind the mule/horse’s withers.
Flank billets and a 3 inch wide flank cinch is included in the price of all TBM
saddles, as are full rawhide covered bell stirrups with 3 ½ inch wide treads.
All TBM saddles are made with a full hand formed ground seat, and can be
ordered with an overlay padded seat, inlaid padded seat, bicycle padded seat,
or a hard seat. All TBM saddles come in several colors and finishes. TBM
saddles come with a one year warranty on materials and workmanship and a
ten year guarantee on the trees.
THREE BELLS MULES CUSTOM TREE FITTING
All TBM saddles are made on Steele saddle trees. Located in
Tennessee, the Steele Saddle Tree Company has been making saddle
trees since 1848 and makes a wide variety of trees to fit mules and
horses. All trees are fiberglass covered and are guaranteed for ten
years.
There is probably nothing more disappointing than buying a new
saddle, taking it home only to discover it doesn’t fit your mule or
horse.
To make sure your purchase of a TBM saddle will work, we offer the
Fit To Be Seen saddle fit system to our customers. The FTBS saddle fit
system is a set of fiberglass forms that duplicate the various bars on
trees used in the TBM saddles.
These forms take the guess work out of
saddle fitting. There are currently eleven
different tree choices for your mules or
horses. When fitting a saddle to your
animal, you need to throw out the term
mule bars, quarter horse bars etc. Instead
think about what actually fits your mule or
horse. A well-fitting saddle is one of the
best things you can do for the health, wellbeing and performance of your equine partner.
The saddle fit forms are available to our customer’s one at a time or
all eleven at the same time. A handy and easy to understand set of
instructions accompanies the forms, and we are just a phone call
away from you to answer any question you may have. Many of our
customers find the fitting of a
tree to their animals a fun and
educational benefit of buying
from Three Bells Mules. Unlike
trying to fit a finished saddle,
the tree forms let you see every
aspect of the fit to your mule or
horse’s back.
Each form has a fit designation
which corresponds to a
description of the bars you are
attempting to fit. We try to
stock saddles in the trees that
have shown to fit the widest
range of mules. However,
because of the differences in
the backs of mules and horses, it may require you to custom order a
saddle to guarantee a fit for you particular animals unique fitting
issues. Below are some of the current models of TBM saddles. We
will be adding more so be sure to keep in touch. All of the below
models are available in both mule and horse versions.
