LINOCUT PRINTING
A45
Linoleum printing is a form of relief printing,
one of the easiest and most direct of all the
printmaking methods. Linocuts can be simplistic
and graphic, or as intricately detailed as you
want. It’s a subtractive process, meaning you cut
away, or subtract, the areas you do not want to
print. They can be printed onto almost any type
of paper or fabric and you will learn to print your
image with or without a press.

LITERARY
FRAGMENTS OF MEMORY:
WRITING FROM OUR LIVES
A64
We all have memories – some real, some heard
so often they seem real, some exaggerated,
some made up. We’ll write from a series of in
class prompts in the form of vignettes, letters,
stories and other forms of writing. Perhaps these
memories will evolve into children’s or adult
stories or memoirs. Perhaps they will be passed
down through the generations. But unless they’re
written, they may be lost and forgotten forever.
No homework, just a willingness to have fun with
words. (5 weeks)
