About the Facility
Scheels Arena is a multi-purpose event facility situated in southwest Fargo, North Dakota. Built in
2008, its primary purpose is as an ice venue as it is called home by the Fargo Force, a tier one junior
hockey team in the United States Hockey League, as well as three Fargo High Schools and numerous
youth hockey teams. Located just minutes from interstates 29 and 94, the venue has already amassed
a diverse event résumé, including a concert by Grammy award winning artist Nelly, the Coors Bull
Riding Challenge, Jewel Live and Acoustic, ShoBox: The New Generation and the 2011 USA Curling
National Championships.

Dressing Rooms/Locker Rooms
There are (7) dressing rooms available from May through September and six (6) dressing rooms available
from October through April. Locker/changing rooms located throughout the basement of the arena are
equipped with lockers, showers and restrooms. Four locker/changing rooms are equipped with private
offices within locker/changing room. Two locker/changing rooms have external private office space.

Lighting
Capabilities:

Fluorescent lighting situated above arena bowl for instant lighting and black out conditions.
Flourescents only rate at 600 lux.

Sport lighting around main arena to ensure maximum lighting exposure and increases lighting to
1500 lux.

An 8-minute time period is required for lights to hit full capacity once turned on
Spot Lights
Four (4) spot light pods are available in the four corners on the arena. Arena does not own any
spotlights.
Loading Dock
Concourse: (1) Truck dock in northwest corner on main concourse level: 7.5’ x 8’.
Ice Level: (1) Ice level access door: 15’ x 18’.
Arena Floor: (1) Arena floor access area with clearance of 11.5’ x 10’.
Load In/Out Vehicle Parking: Trucks/vehicle parking available in unsecured parking lot.
Lower Lobby: 6.5’x7’5” front entrance access to lower lobby.

Video Production
Type of Video System: The building is equipped with a Panasonic video system with 10’ x 18’
jumbotrons on the north and south ends of the ice area, 2’ x 310’ fascia ring on the east side of the
seating area and two smaller fascia rings bordering the cloud above the media deck. The system is able

to feed live video (no audio) of the playing surface to all televisions in the building with an in-house
channel (channel 94). It can also run commercials and instant replays with sponsor overlays. Currently,
there are no built-in uplink or webcasting capabilities, but the system does have the ability to interface
with outside equipment.

Headsets are 4-pin connectors. Anchor Intercom System with one wireless belt pack. Nine hard
wired locations through the arena.


DVD Recorders and a 2 disc duplicator.
Audio System
Type of Audio System: State-of-the-art sound system using a combination of QSC and Innovox
speakers throughout the concourses and over the ice surface allowing for 100 dB to all seats for 100
percent ice and building coverage.
Audio Equipment: The sound system is equipped with two hard-wired microphones (located at press
row and in the production room in suite 12), five wireless microphone and a computer-aided music
program.

Rigging
Distances: Beams run north to south and are spaced 24’4” center to center on the ends and 30’0”
spacing in the center over the main ice.
In House Services
Marketing
The in-house marketing manager at the Scheels Arena is able to advise and assist you in the placement
of all marketing and advertising for your event. In addition, the Scheels Arena allows the use of the
following in-house marketing channels, pending availability, to aid in the successful promotion of your
event at no additional charge to you:

Fascia Video Ribbon: One static ribbon to be played at available arena events

Commercial/Jumbotron Spot: One commercial or jumbotron static ad to be played in
conjunction with fascia ad at available arena events.

PA Announcement: One 15-second public address announcement to be read in place of
commercial during fascia/jumbotron advertisements.

E-blasts: Current database of approximately 6,000 subscribers, plus the arena’s season
reserved, club and suite holders.

Lobby LCD Televisions: One static spot to be included in the arena’s sponsor rotator. These
are located near the ticket office and are playing during all events in the building.


Graphic Design
For a negotiated fee, the Scheels Arena will work with your to provide artwork for all in-house marketing
channels as well as those being placed for external advertising.
Advertising – Mandatory Use of Logo
Any advertising or marketing of events taking place at the Scheels Arena is required to include the
Scheels Arena logo. The Scheels Arena will provide the necessary artwork for all such use.
Box Office/Ticketing
The Scheels Arena utilizes the Ticketmaster Host system for all ticketed events at Scheels Arena.
Therefore, tickets to all ticketed events at Scheels Arena can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com,
charge-by-phone at 800.745.300, all Ticketmaster ticket centers and the Scheels Arena box office. All
ticket information questions can also be directed to the box office at 701.364.3672. The Scheels Arena
box office is open Monday through Friday from 11 am - 5:30 pm as well as noon through event on
weekend event days. Summer hours, which run from May 15-September 15, are Monday through Friday
from 11 am - 1 p.m. Extended hours will be utilized on event weeks for summer events. There is a $2
facility fee added on to all ticket prices and promoter will be charged a 3% credit card fee for all
purchases through the arena box office.
Merchandise
Scheels Arena owns any all rights to merchandise sales. In most cases, Scheels Arena is willing to waive
that right in return for a 20% commission on gross revenues from merchandise sales.
Concessions
All concessions and liquor services are owned and operated by Concessions Management,
Concessions Management and the building will have sole decision making power over how many stands

will be open for an event.
Catering
Catering services are available through the arena’s in-house food and beverage company, Concessions
Management. Concessions Management does not have exclusive catering rights within the building but
the arena requests Concessions Management be provided with the opportunity to bid on any catering
needs for an event.

Security and Safety
Permits
Scheels Arena is to be notified by promoter of any special permits being acquired including, but not
limited to, the following at least 20 business days prior to event: pyrotechnics, animals, lasers or parking.
Ambulance
Ambulance needs are handled on a case by case basis and must be scheduled by lessee.
Security
Any necessary security for events will be run through the Scheels Arena security office. Additional
security supplied by a promoter may be required on a case by case basis.
First Aid
Scheels Arena has only basic first aid supplies. Any additional medical requirements must be addressed
by lessee.
Search Procedures
Mandatory searches are governed by Scheels Arena Security personnel for designated events.
