SAFETY
„ Safety Precaution
The IRD is complied with international safety standards. Please read these simple
guidelines carefully before using this device.
„ Power Supply
90–250V AC 50/60Hz.
„ Do Not Dismantle
Do not attempt to dismantle the IRD. Opening the cabinet may cause malfunction
or electric shock.
„ Avoid Overloading
Do not overload a wall outlet, extension cord or adapter as this may result in fire
electric shock.
„ Avoid Extreme Humidity
Do not install the IRD in an extreme humid place. The STB shall not be exposed to
dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, Such as vase, shall be
placed on the apparatus.
WARNING: To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this
appliance to rain or moisture.

NOTE: If not used for long, please remember to pull out the power cable
or turn off the power.

„ CLEANING
Disconnect the STB from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use dry cloth to Dust the
STB.
„ Avoid Object and Liquid Entry
Do not insert any kinds of small objects, such as a coin, into the IRD as it may
result in short circuit.
„ Ventilation Openings and Installation
The IRD ’S ventilation openings prevent itself from overheating. Do not block them
as it may cause malfunction. Put the IRD on a firm and flat surface. Avoid extreme
heat and direct sunlight.
„ Power supply
Do not defeat the safety purpose or the polarized or grounding-type plug. If the
provided plug does not fit into your outlet consult an electrician for replacement of
the obsolete outlet. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched
particularly at Plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from
the apparatus.
„ Location
Place the STB indoor in order not to expose to lightening, rain or sunlight. Unplug
this STB during lighting storms or when unused for long periods of time.
„ Maintenance
Use spare parts and accessories only from the original manufacturer.
„ Service
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
STB has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is
damaged, liquid has been soiled or objects have fallen into the STB, the STB has
been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been
dropped.

Front Panel
z Display (4-digits 7-segments / 2LED)
The 4-digits displays channel information. The green LED lights up when Channel
locked.
z CH▲/CH▼
Move the cursor up/down in Menu state. Change the current program to the
previous/next program in No-Menu state.
z VOL◄/ VOL►
Moves the cursor left/right in Menu state. Change the volume in No-Menu state
z MENU
Press to display the Main Menu.
z OK
Press this button after your selection or correction.
z Power
Switch between Operation and Standby modes.

Remote Control Unit
All features of the set-top box can be controlled with the remote controller.

z ►: Starts playback at the beginning of the current record session or returns to
normal playback speed from fast reverse/forward or pause.
z ●: Start recording.
z ∣◄ / ►∣: Skip to the previous or next program.
z ∣∣: Pauses the playback.
z ■: Stops the playback.

z RS232 Serial Port
For firmware update, serial communication port (RS-232).
z LNB IN
Connect the digital signal from your LNB of your satellite dish to this connector.
z LNB OUT
Give you the possibility to connect an extra receiver (analogue or digital).
z RF IN
RF Modulator (female part).If you have an additional antenna (cable or terrestrial)
as well, and you don’t use a scart cable to connect the receiver to the TV, then
your additional antenna has to be connected here. If you do use a scart cable to
connect the receiver to your TV, the additional antenna can be put directly into
your TV.
z RF OUT
RF Modulator (male part). If you don’t use a coax cable to connect the receiver to
your TV, you will have to use this connector to connect the receiver to your TV,
using a coax cable. If you connect your receiver to your TV like this, be sure that
you set your TV to the Video channel.
z AUDIO Right/ Left (Red /White RCA)
These connectors give you the possibility to connect the audio signal to an
external amplifier, or the audio input of your TV.
z VIDEO (Yellow RCA)
This connector has a constant video signal for additional VCR-connections.
z SPDIF OUT (Black RCA)
This connector has a constant SPDIF signal for additional connections.
z YPbPr
Connect component video to HD Monitors (YPbPr Type).
z S-VIDEO
Connect to a TV with S-Video input.
z USB
Provide for the mobile storage.
z AC Power Cord
Your receiver requires a current of 90~250V AC (Auto-selectable),50~60Hz.Make
sure to check the power specification before connecting your receiver to the wall
outlet.

3. Connections
3.1
Connecting to TV
z Connect the satellite signal from the LNB to the LNB IN connector.
z Connect the RCA connector at the back of the receiver to the RCA-in connector
on your TV set.
3.2
Connecting to Dish
z Connecting a fixed satellite dish to your receiver
Make your choice of which satellite you want to receive your signals from, and
have your dealer aim your dish at the requested satellite. Connect a coax cable to
your LNB and the other end directly to the LNB IN connector of your receiver.
z Connecting multiple fixed dishes to your receiver using a DiSEqC 1.0 switch
If you want to watch programs from more than satellites (For in instance from
Astra and from Hot Bird) it is advisable to use fixed dishes and a DiSEqC 1.0
switch. Connect the OUT connector of the DiSEqC 1.0 switch to the LNB IN
connector at the back of your receiver.
z Connecting a dish on a motorized positioner to your receiver
Another possibility to watch programs from multiple satellites is by mounting a dish
to a motorized DiSEqC 1.2 positioner. Connect the LNB with a coax cable to the
LNB IN connector of the positioner, and connect the OUT connector of the
positioner to the LNB IN connector at the back of your receiver.

4. Setting and Operations
4.1
Before Setting
Starting up for the First Time
z Turn on your TV and receiver.
z If it is the first time using a receiver, you
should set parameters for system
configuration. After displaying the login
screen, press the MENU button. The
following screen will be appeared.
Menu Information
z The menu consists of main-menu and sub-menu, as you see in the above screen.
Main-menu has 6 items and each main-item has its sub-menu items.
4.2
Installation
z If you press OK in Installation Menu,
the following screen will be appeared.
In this menu you can search programs
by Manual Search, Auto Search,
Antenna Search or Blind Search.
4.2.1 Manual Search
z If you press OK in Manual Search of
Installation Menu, the following screen
will be appeared.
z Use the ▲/▼ button to select item, you
can set up the parameters with the
◄/► button. Or you can press OK to
view the items’ list, select by ▲/▼. And
press OK while you completed
choosing. You can press Green button
to edit TP information.

z If you completed setting, Use the ▲/▼ button to select Start Search and press
OK button to scan current transponder channel.
— TP Edit: If you press Green button. You can edit the TP Frequency information.
Press OK in the Add item to add a new TP value, in the modify item to change the
current value, in the Delete item to delete the current TP value. You can operate
correctly by the clew on the screen.
4.2.2 Auto Search
If you already set the Antenna Setup, you
can search by the satellite.
z If you press OK in Auto Search of
Installation Menu, the following screen
will be appeared.
z Use the ▲/▼ button to select the item,
and set up the parameter with the ◄/►
button. or OK button, which will show
the item’s list.
z If you completed setting, Use the ▲/▼ button to select Start Search and press
OK button to start search. Press Green button to rename the Satellite you
chosen.
4.2.3 Antenna Setup
With this menu, you can designate the
satellite to search channels. There are up
to 100 satellites available.
z If you press OK in Antenna Setup of
Installation Menu, the following screen
will be appeared.
z Use the ▲/▼ button to select the item,
and set up the parameter with the ◄/►
button or OK button, which will show
the item’s list. If you completed setting, use Red button to Save, Blue button to
Save & Exit.

— Satellite: If you press OK in Satellite, the satellites’ list is displayed. Move the cursor
to a satellite and press OK to select the satellite and have the list disappeared, or
press the EXIT on the remote controller to cancel the setting and have the list
disappeared.
— LNB Type: You can select one LNB type from UNI1 (9750-10600), UNI2
(5150,5750),UNI3 (9750,10700),5150, 9750, 10600, 10700, 10750, 11200, 11300,
or user defined type. You should input LNB value directly in user defined (default
value is 0).
— LNB Power: You can select 13/18V for LNB. Select OFF if you want to off LNB
power.
— 22KHz: Setup the 22KHz switch. If you have connected to a dual LNB or two
antennas connected to a 22KHz tone switch box, set it to ON.
— LNB Dish: Use this option to use the
Digital Positioner. The default is Fixed. If
you want to move the dish, set the LNB
Dish field to Moved.
— DiSEqC Switch: The default is OFF. To
use the DiSEqC switch, set up DiSEqC. If
you had set LNB Type to Universal, LNB
Power and 22KHz switch options are
disregarded. If you set LNB Dish to Moved,
DiSEqC switch is disappeared and
positioner item is appeared. On the other hand, if you set LNB Dish to Fixed,
positioner item is disappeared and DiSEqC switch is appeared. Universal
LNB:9750-10600MHz.
4.2.4 Positioner Setup
If you use DiSEqC digital positioner you
can set dish position from Antenna Setup
menu. First, change “LNB Dish” value to
Moved then DiSEqC menu item is
changed to Positioner item. If you already
set dish position for current satellite item
value is displayed as “Setup (NOT SET)”.
Set dish position press OK button.
Positioner Setup menu will be displayed.

— Satellite: Show the satellite name dish position is set. If you want to change satellite
you should change satellite from Antenna Menu.
— TP Freq: Show TP of the designated satellite. Signal power and quality is checked
on the base of current TP value. If you want to change to other TP use ◄/► button
or OK button, which will show the TP list.
— Go to REF: You can use this item to move dish position to center. While position is
moving to center, wait message is displayed.
— Move: Use to move dish position to east or west direction. Whenever Left button is
pressed dish position is moved to east direction, and moved to west direction when
Right button is pressed.
— Set Limit: Use to set dish position’s east or west limit, disable limit value. Change
item with ◄/► button and press OK button to set/disable limit value. If Dish position
is moved to correct position to receive satellite signal, signal power and quality are
changed. Using Red button to save current dish position, or Blue button to Save &
Exit.
4.2.5 Blind Search
z If you press OK in Blind Search of
Installation Menu, the following screen
will be appeared.
z Use the ▲/▼ button to select item, you
can set up the parameters with the
◄/► button. Or you can press OK to
view the items’ list, select by ▲/▼. And
press OK while you completed
choosing.
z If you completed setting, Use the ▲/▼
button to select Start Search and press OK button to scan channels. The system
can search by the satellite you set.

4.3
System Setting
z If you press OK on System Setting in
the main Menu. The System Setting
menu of the following screen will be
appeared.
4.3.1 Edit Channel
z If you press OK in Channel Edit of
System Setting Menu, the following
screen will be appeared.(PIN default:
0000)
z Press Red button to add favorite
channels. Press Green button to lock a
channel or unlock. If Channel is in the
locked status, you must enter PIN code
to view channel. Press Yellow buttom
to select a channel, and press ▼/▲ to
up/down. Press Blue button to delete
channels. If you want to cancel the operation of deleting, you can press Blue
button again.
z If you complete these above operations, press MENU to save or EXIT to quit.
Then the screen will display a clue, you can choose OK to save the operation, or
select cancel to give up.
4.3.2 Condition Receive (optional)
z If you press OK in Condition Receive of
System Setting Menu, the following
screen will be appeared.
— Maturity Rating Setup: Set up the rate
for the current channel. You can limit the
channels not suitable for children. Enter
the Rate and Password by the numerical
keys.

— Modify PIN: Change the personal Identification Number (PIN) which is used to
control the assessing to the receiver and individual channel. Default value is 000000.
— Card Base Information: See the information about the smart card.
— Operator Information: Information about the CA card, such as general program
information, IPPV program information and so on.
— Son Card Feed: Feed the son card for another STB.
4.3.3 Password Control
z If you press OK in Password Control of
System Setting Menu (Default
Password: 0000), the following screen
will be appeared.
— Password ON/OFF: The switch of
password. Install the switch in the “ON”
status, and then if you get in the locked
program, you should use the password.
— Modify Password: Under the situation of the password switch is in “ON”, Choose
“Modify Password” and press “OK”, then you would see the prompting words of
“Enter new PIN”, then press the PIN which you want, it would prompt you “Verify
PIN”, it would be finished after you input the PIN again.
4.3.4 Software Update
(optional)
z If you enter into the Software Update
Menu, the following screen will be
displayed.
z Once the front end have updated
program, the receiver will automatically
update (reboot receiver). If choose to
update later, you can update in this
menu. Set the parameters by the clue
under the screen. Press “OK” to
update.

4.3.5 Default Setting
z Delete all the data currently saved and setting, and returns the system to the initial
status.(PIN default: 0000)
4.3.6 Reserved Manage
z If you press OK in Reserved Manage
Menu, the channels will display which
you have booked.
4.4
Parameter Setting
z If you press OK in Parameter Setting
Menu, the following screen will be
appeared. (PIN default: 0000)
4.4.1 AV Control
z If you enter into the AV Control Menu,
the following screen will be displayed.
In this menu you can set some
parameters output to TV.
— Screen Ratio: When program
transmission is in 16:9 and you have a TV
set with the 4:3 picture format you can
select Full Screen or Letter Box picture
format.

— TV Format: You can select OSD &video display mode to one of Auto, PAL, NTSC.
When PAL mode is selected, for example all screens are displayed as the PAL
mode in spite of the current Programs transmission mode.
4.4.2 Menu Setting
z If you enter into the Menu setting Menu,
the following screen will be displayed.
— Menu-Info. Display Time: When you
switch channels in full screen, there will
show up some information about current
channel on the lower of the screen. And
regarding to the duration of these
information show up on the screen, you can
press ◄/► key to set the time. The range
of the duration is “1 second ~ 6 seconds”.
— OSD Transparency: You can press ◄/► key to select the values. There are 10
levels of transparency, 20% to 90%, and opaque.
— OSD Brightness: You can press ◄/► key to select the values. There are 10 levels
of brightness, 10% to 100%.
— Menu Language Setting: You can press ◄/► key to select English or Chinese.
— Color Setting You can press ◄/► key to select the color of background menu.
4.4.3 Time Zone Setting
z If you enter into the Time Zone Setting
Menu, the following screen will be
displayed.
In this menu, you can install the system
time zone of the STB, don’t revise the
time in suggestion, or else it would
cause the mistake of time prompting.

4.4.4 UHF Setting
(optional)
— UHF Mode: If TV is connected by RF
cable, you can select the RF modulator
type. RF modulator type affects a program
audio.
— UHF Channel: When TV is connected by
RF cable, you must select RF channel
number to the same value on the TV. If
other number is selected the picture will
not be viewed.
4.5
System Information
z In the menu, you can see the detaild
information of the system loader status.
z Press OK in System Information Menu,
then press OK in Loader Status, the
following screen will be appeared.
4.6
Game
z If you press OK in Game Menu, the
following screen will be appeared.
z Here are variety of games, Calendar
and calculator.

4.7
Disk Manage
z Press OK in Disk Manage to enter. The screen turn into list of mobile storage. You
can do this operation about the mobile storage as flows. In this menu, select the
item by ▲/▼, enter by OK.
4.7.1 Disk Manage
— Disk File List: Look the file list of the
mobile storage.
— Space Information: Look at the
information about the storage, such as
disk edition, the disk space, used space
and remain space.
— Format Disk: Reformat the mobile
storage.
Note: The method of operation refers to the clue under the screen.
4.7.2 Record Manage
— Record Program: In the sub-menu of the
Record Program menu, you can record
the current channel or record the other
channel. Press ▲/▼ to select the item,
and watch the channel list by OK.
— Recorded Program: In this menu you
can look the recorded list. Press ▲/▼ to
select programs and watch the program
by OK. Or you can delete the recorded
program by the RED button.
— Timing Record: You can set the record by your purpose. Set the Current Date and
Current Time.
Note: The detail method of operation refers to the clue under the screen.

4.8
Program Guide
z EPG shows the event information on
the current TP channel by time Zone.
The event is displayed only at the
channel that has EPG information. If
you press EPG, the following screen
will be appeared.
z If you press the OK button on a
highlighted channel the channel will
appear on screen. Press the ▼/▲to
select channel. Press the ◄/► to view
EPG of a particular channel on a daily basis. Press the RED button to alter the
program window. Press the ▼/▲to select program. If you press the OK button,
the highlighted program will be saved for recording. Then press OK button again
to close the EPG menu.
4.9
TV menu at the normal mode
z At normal mode(no menu state),
various menus are displayed on the
screen with remote control action. You
can change the current status and
mode with various buttons including the
▲/▼, SAT, i, and EPG button. The
follow screen shows the banner
displayed when you press the i button.
4.9.1 TV/Radio List in Simple mode
z If you press OK on the remote
controller at No menu state, the
channel list is displayed.You can
preview the channel and move the
channel fast with the▲/▼ button.

The LNB is an electronic unit mounted on the satellite dish. It receives the signals

Personal Identification Number. A four-digit code that is used for locking/unlocking,
e.g. with the parental control feature.
