LAST REVIVAL?

A big question many in the church today
are asking is, “Will God give the western
world – the Protestant democracies – one
more chance to repent before Jesus comes?”
Will there – CAN there – be a final revival in the developed world before the
rapture, before the great apostasy reaches
full strength? Theoretically, the possibility exists, but “WILL it happen?” is an
open question. Since 1983, I have been
convinced that if revival does happen, it
will have to be like THIS or it won’t happen at all. I want to look at what I believe
the Word of God reveals concerning the
church in the Last Days prophetically.
The last days of Judah before the
Babylonian captivity is a picture of the
Last Days full-stop before “Babylon the
Great” (Rev. 17:5). One is a picture of the
other both for the Jews and for the church.
There has not been a revival in the
United States since the Jesus Movement
of the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, among the
hippies. In fact, the concept of revival has
been redefined in all sorts of ways. In reality, a time of revival is not a lot of people
getting saved; that is the RESULT of revival, and the proof it happened. You can’t
revive that which was never alive to begin
with. It’s the church repenting, returning to
its first love and God in His grace and mercy
pouring His Spirit upon it that constitutes a
real revival. A lot of people getting saved
is a proof that it happened and by the same
token the proof that it didn’t happen if you
DON’T see a lot of people getting saved.
This is why we can say without hesitation that fads like Promise Keepers, Toronto-Pensacola laughing craze, Purpose
Driven or a number of other such rubbish
are not revivals or ever can be. They always promise a revival and yet no revival
comes; it’s just a whole lot of hype.
If revival does come, it will be the
LAST revival, and the LAST revival of the
church will be like the last revival of Israel
and the Jews.
The Parallel to Judah’s Last
Days
A Return to
Financial Integrity
Josiah was a good king who did right
in the sight of the Lord and walked in the
way of his father David. By his time,
David would have been one of his distant
ancestors, but David is the barometer. David is always the Old Testament shadow
of Christ as Good Shepherd. The kings of
Israel were called “shepherds”, “pastors”
– the same word in Hebrew, “ro’iym”.
How good a pastor is according to Peter
in the New Testament is how much like
Christ he is. And the Old Testament shadow of Christ as pastor is David the shepherd boy. How much like David you were
determined how good a king you were.
The church today in the western world
suffers from a lack of financial integrity.
Something that is sure to provoke persecution are the “money preachers” on television. The general public is sick of seeing
these scandals of corrupt men and women
using religion to live in luxury and it will
provoke laws that will be used against honest churches and honest ministries. That is
one of the reasons Satan has raised these
men up. Only God knows how much is
squandered that should be going to the
legitimate work of Jesus that instead is
going into the coffers of these men who
line their own pockets. There must be a return to financial integrity to God’s people,
though the average pastor is paid modestly.
I don’t take a salary at all, and I don’t
take any royalties from what we sell. I donate it, but that’s my choice. It wouldn’t be
“wrong”, I just choose not to. However, if
I did, I would have no right to live extravagantly at the expense of the church. I have
expenses paid and things like this – I have
to travel and that requires money. But there
is a lack of financial integrity in the church
today, largely because of the televangelists. These people cannot be trusted.
We get requests from the Third World
all the time where there’s tremendous need.
I get letters from Pakistan, Africa – from
all kinds of places, Asia particularly. Unless you know the people you’re dealing
with, you can’t send them anything because
there are scam artists who know Evangelical-speak. These guys are swindlers who
know how to use biblical terms to swindle
money out of western Christians for ministries that do not really exist. The Third
World is filled with this sort of corruption.
Well, that’s the Third World – we have this
kind of corruption in Evangelical America.
There needs to be a return to financial honesty and a purging of the “money
preachers” in order to rebuild the house of
God. Let us not make a mistake about it.
“Now it came to pass, in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, that the king
sent Shaphan the scribe, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, to the house of
the Lord, saying: “Go up to Hilkiah the
high priest, that he may count the money
which has been brought into the house
of the Lord, which the doorkeepers have
gathered from the people. And let them
deliver it into the hand of those doing the
work, who are the overseers in the house
of the Lord; let them give it to those who
are in the house of the Lord doing the
work, to repair the damages of the house- to carpenters and builders and masons-and to buy timber and hewn stone to
repair the house. However there need
be no accounting made with them of the
money delivered into their hand, because
they deal faithfully.” (2 Kings 22:3-7)
The New Testament tells us that the
house of the Lord – the “oikos hagios” – is
a picture of the church. Those words are
seen in 1 Peter 2:5:
you also, as living stones, are being
built up as a spiritual house for a holy
priesthood…
We are the “oikos hagios” – the “holy
house”, we are the priests with Christ as
our High Priest.

Continued: Feature Article
As it says in Lamentations, the bricks are
at the corner of the street; not one stone
will be thrown down upon another (Lam.
4:1). God’s house – the spiritual house – is
in gross disrepair. Whole churches and denominations are falling to pieces. Church
attendance is at an all-time low.
Then Hilkiah the high priest said to
Shaphan the scribe…
…in verse 8…
“I have found the book of the law in the
house of the LORD.”
This was the Torah, the “Sepha Torah”.
And Hilkiah gave the book to
Shaphan who read it. Shaphan the scribe
came to the king and brought back word
to the king and said, “Your servants
have emptied out the money that was
found in the house, and have delivered it
into the hand of the workmen who have
the oversight of the house of the Lord.”
Moreover, Shaphan the scribe told the
king saying, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in
the presence of the king. When the king
heard the words of the book of the law…
…the Torah…
…he tore his clothes. Then the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam the
son of Shaphan, Achbor the son of Micaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah
the king’s servant saying, “Go, inquire
of the LORD for me and the people and
all Judah concerning the words of this
book that has been found, for great is the
wrath of the LORD that burns against
us, because our fathers have not listened
to the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.”
There MUST be a return to fiscal integrity. This is a big issue. The world now
thinks that being saved is a con-job thanks
to the money preachers, aided and abetted
by the religious simpletons who say, “Don’t
judge.” “Don’t criticize.” “Let the church
be discredited.” Let people go to hell without Christ – they don’t preach the Gospel as
credible any more. “We have to love.” We
have to love who? Swindlers? Who’s going to love the people on their way to hell
without Christ, who won’t believe in Christ
because they see these con-men? Who is
going to love the people in the Third World
who are suffering -- the CHILDREN who
are in dire need for things that cost money
that is being diverted into the coffers of
these scoundrels? Whatever your belief
is, I tell these people, don’t call it “love”.
Love has nothing to do with it. There
must be a restoration of fiscal integrity.
Secondly, there must be a sense
of dilapidation and a desire to repair.
December 2007 • Moriel Quarterly
Thirdly – here’s the big one – a rediscovery of the lost Word of God.
Rediscovery of the Lost
Word of God
It’s lost! It’s anecdotes, it’s stories, it’s
psychology, it’s The Message – the worst
paraphrases you can think of. It’s Purpose
Driven, it’s hype, it’s showmanship, but
it’s not the Word of God. It’s gone. Not
from THIS church, but from THE church.
People think – at least some people
think – Jacob Prasch is a really good Bible
teacher. He is a gifted Bible teacher. He is a
dynamic Bible teacher. I’ve even had pastors tell me in different countries around
the world, “You’re the best Bible expositor
we ever heard.” Let me tell you something,
it’s more like this: when you’re hungry
enough, and McDonald’s ® is the only thing
open, a Big Mac ® becomes a filet mignon.
At better times in church history– I’m being honest here – I don’t think that Dave
Hunt, Jacob Prasch, and Roger Oakland
would be what they seem to be now. There
would be PLENTY of guys like Prasch.
There was a time when a pastor had to
be careful of his preaching because if he
made a mistake, there were enough men
in the church who would catch it because
there used to be lay preachers in the church
who could preach as well as he could.
You certainly see this in certain places
like Northern Ireland or the American
Bible Belt. It was like that at one time.
The Reaction: The King Tears
His Garments
But what happens when the scrolls are
rediscovered? The king tears his garments
(2 Kings 22:11). That’s a picture of two
things: mourning and repentance. Notice
repentance began with the king, with the
leadership.
But today, repentance is an unpopular word. Forget about “Repent
and be baptized”, (Acts 2:38) or “Repent, save yourself from this crooked
and perverse generation”, (Acts 2:40);
rather it is “be seeker sensitive”. Don’t
preach about sin, be “Purpose Driven”.
On page 217 of the “Purpose Driven
Church” there is a person living immorally, into substance abuse, shacking up
with his girlfriend. They aren’t told to
repent, just get Jesus into their life, then
let God clean them up. If they don’t repent, Jesus isn’t coming into their life!
But in the case of King Josiah, he tore
his clothes and followed with the command (kings don’t “invite”, they “command”), “Go, inquire of the Lord” (2
Kings 22:13). True repentance brings
about a sense of fear. “My God, the
judgment of the Lord is coming!” “He’s
angry!” Where’s that sense today?
How many preachers did you see after
September 11th telling the truth about it?
They had these memorial celebrations on
television. Do you know who the speakers were? Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey – The Hollywood Elite – these have
become our role models today, sad to say.
Our fathers have NOT listened to the
words of this book. Who’s going to say
anything about our fathers? Who is going to
say, “In 1949, Billy Graham said the three
biggest obstacles to the Gospel of Jesus are
Communism, Islam, and Roman Catholicism”? He actually said that in 1949. Now
he’ll put converts in Roman churches.
Before the Iron Curtain came down, he
said they don’t persecute Christians. And
he even backtracked on Islam – at least
his son did. He had it right to begin with.
So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor,
Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah
the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the
son of Tikvah…
Renewal of Commitment
Now “Tikvah” means “hope”, “the son
of hope”
…the son of Harhas, keeper of the
wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem
in the Second Quarter); and they spoke
to her.
Now the fact that she lived in the Second Quarter meant she didn’t live that far
from the temple.
She said to them, “Thus says the LORD
God of Israel, ‘Tell the man who sent you
to me, thus says the LORD, “Behold, I
bring evil on this place and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book
which the king of Judah has read. Because they have forsaken Me and have
burned incense to other gods that they
might provoke Me to anger with all the
work of their hands, therefore My wrath
burns against this place, and it shall
not be quenched.” ’ But to the king of
Judah who sent you to inquire of the
LORD thus shall you say to him, ‘Thus
says the LORD God of Israel, “Regarding the words which you have heard,
because your heart was tender and you
humbled yourself before the LORD when
you heard what I spoke against this
place and against its inhabitants that
they should become a desolation and a
curse, and you have torn your clothes
and wept before Me, I truly have heard
you,” declares the LORD. “Therefore,
behold, I will gather you to your fathers,
and you will be gathered to your grave
Continued: Feature Article
in peace, and your eyes will not see all
the evil which I will bring on this place.”
So they brought back word to the king.
Then the king sent, and they gathered
to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem. The king went up to the house
of the LORD and all the men of Judah
and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with
him, and the priests and the prophets
and all the people, both small and great;
and he read in their hearing all the
words of the book of the covenant which
was found in the house of the LORD.
Not some of it, ALL of it, not just
the bits of the Bible people want to hear.
The king stood by the pillar and made a
covenant before the LORD, to walk after
the LORD, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies…
…everything that was written in the
book…
And all the people entered into the
covenant.
The New Testament calls it “returning to your first love” (Rev. 2:4-5); renewal of commitment to the covenant.
The Role of Passover
When the Holy Spirit gives us
more than one account of something,
we need to pay attention. And the more
accounts, the more important it is.
Josiah removed all the abominations
from all the lands belonging to the sons
of Israel, and made all who were present in Israel to serve the LORD their
God. Throughout his lifetime they did
not turn from following the LORD God
of their fathers. [2 Chronicles 34:33]
Then he celebrated the Passover - a massive Passover as in the days of
Hezekiah. When there was a revival, there was a Passover – a big one.
There is a reason the Lord’s Supper
is no longer the centerpiece of fellowship and worship as it biblically should
be. The Reformers corrected error with
error. Because the Reformers were Roman Catholic priests who got saved and
understood the idolatry of the Mass, they
said we’ll only have the Lord’s Supper
once a month or once a quarter or once a
year, some of them. You don’t correct error with error, you correct error with truth.
The Lord’s Supper is central to our fellowship and worship. It says the people walk
after the Lord all the days of their life.
One of the things the Lord’s Supper
does is keep us on our toes because if we
eat or drink the Lord’s Supper with unconfessed sin, we eat or drink judgment
unto ourselves (1 Co. 11:29). It keeps us
repenting; it keeps us on the right track.
I say this about the church-at-large:
the Lord’s Supper should be a regular,
certainly weekly, observance. It has many
purposes and is something God uses to
keep us in repentance mode. It is not the
“eucharist”, but they had a big Passover.
1 Corinthians 11 tells us our Passover is
the Lord’s Supper. It is an appetizer of the
Marriage Supper of the Lamb as much as it
is a memorial of His death and resurrection.
We proclaim His death until He comes.
In the Old Testament, in Exodus 13,
when children asked, “why do we eat the
Pesach?, they were to say to them it is because of what the Lord did for us when He
took us out of Egypt. You let your unsaved
children who are growing up see you take
the Lord’s Supper. “Why do you take it and
why can’t I?” “We take it because of what
Jesus did; He saved us out of the world. You
want to take it? You accept Jesus into your
heart.” It’s a teaching lesson for children.
Now there is much we can say about
the Lord’s Supper, but the fact that it is
being negated is an indictment on all of
us; it should NOT be negated. It is also a
way for unsaved people in the church service to hear the Gospel when you point
out, “This is for baptized believers only.
If you’re not a believer, please don’t take
it.” It is a way to bring conviction and
indictment to them that they’ll repent.
Eliminating False Worship
But something else happens. Look
back to the account in 2 Kings:
Then the king commanded Hilkiah the
high priest and the priests of the second
order and the doorkeepers, to bring out
of the temple of the LORD all the vessels
that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and
for all the host of heaven; and he burned
them outside Jerusalem in the fields of
the Kidron, and carried their ashes to
Bethel. He did away with the idolatrous
priests whom the kings of Judah had appointed to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and in the surrounding area of Jerusalem, also those
who burned incense to Baal, to the sun
and to the moon and to the constellations
and to all the host of heaven. He brought
out the Asherah…[2 Kings 23:4…]
…female cult deities…
… from the house of the LORD outside Jerusalem to the brook Kidron, and burned
it at the brook Kidron, and ground it to
dust, and threw its dust on the graves of
the common people. He also broke down
the houses of the male cult prostitutes…
…you know, Ted Haggard’s friend…
… which were in the house of the LORD,
where the women were weaving hangings for the Asherah. Then he brought
all the priests from the cities of Judah,
and defiled the high places where the
priests had burned incense, from Geba to
Beersheba; and he broke down the high
places of the gates which were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on one’s left at
the city gate. Nevertheless the priests of
the high places did not go up to the altar
of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they ate
unleavened bread among their brothers.
They were supposed to go up to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. These guys
like to have their own shows sometimes.
He also defiled Topheth, which is in
the valley of the son of Hinnom, that no
man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire for Molech.
The idolatry, the worship of other
gods, the term used is “abad azerah” -- the
same term for unbiblical worship is used
for idolatry. Once you’re on that road, it’s
only a question of how far you travel on
it. Idolatry begins with unbiblical worship.
Ultimately, they began human sacrifice, sacrificing babies to Molech. This was
terrible. Verse 13…
The high places which were before
Jerusalem, which were on the right of
the mount of destruction which Solomon
the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians,
and for Chemosh the abomination of
Moab, and for Milcom the abomination of the sons of Ammon, the king
defiled. He broke in pieces the sacred
pillars and cut down the Asherim and
filled their places with human bones.
He tore down all the idolatry.
If you follow Christianity Today or
some other comic book, you’ll see the “flavor of the month” is the Emergent Church.
They’re bringing the icons and images back
into God’s house. They’re burning incense
and candles before images, going into contemplative prayer, and they’re not addressing the REAL sin: abortion – killing these
kids. When society goes that far and begins killing kids, it has gone too far. What
the church needs is a radical demolition of
idolatry and a purge of unfaithful clergy.
The Judgment of God Must
Fall
It’s the same thing now. The judgment
of God must fall; we have gone too far for
too long. We are no longer at a 2 Chronicles
7:14 situation. I love that verse as much as
everybody.

He might heal YOUR home, YOUR
family, YOUR church, He may heal
MINE, He may heal OURS, but to heal our
land? The blood of the unborn cries out
for justice. Forty million people aborted in
this country? A so-called Christian President like Ronald Reagan appoints Sandra
Day O’Connor to the Supreme Court, a
pro-abortion judge who then writes a decision ordering the Ten Commandments
out of the judicial building in Alabama?
This is the Republican Christian? It has
gone too far. That’s not political, just factual. Revival can no longer prevent the
judgment of God, but it CAN delay it.
Again, in theory, we can delay it ad
infinitum if you stick to the Word of God.
Certain things have to happen; the Antichrist has to come and all that stuff, but it
CAN be delayed. If revival comes, it can
only come one way. The last revival is
the last revival. If there is going to be a
revival in America, in the western world in
our lifetime, it will be the LAST revival.
It will be THIS way, or it’s not coming.
Revival Can Only Happen This
Way
December 2007 • Moriel Quarterly
Will There Be a Revival?
Will there be a revival? That is perhaps the most crucial question our generation of Christians will face. Will there
be one, one last chance for the church in
the western world to repent before Jesus
comes? Will God give America, Britain,
Australia, etc. one more chance? That is
the big question, but what is very obvious
from looking at the above requirements is
that the church-at-large is doing the exact
opposite. They’re going the wrong way!
On each of these things, they’re going
the wrong way! The popular response is:
Repentance: “I reject that; don’t be
negative! I reject that in the name of Jesus!”
Financial Integrity: Look at this money thing, it’s getting out of hand. “God
wants us rich! Halleluia! How dare you
criticize!” TBN and the other “Christian”
television networks would die without an
emphasis on Mammon worship -- it’s crazy.
The Word of God: “What’s that?”
Seminaries are teaching less and less exposition, less and less exegesis. There’s
generally less emphasis on biblical languages, and more emphasis on programs,
management techniques, psychology.
Fuller Seminary’s biggest faculty are in
the fields of Psychology and Church
Growth based on marketing, not theology.
Everything we need to do, we’re
not doing, even obvious things.
Biblically and historically, in the history of Israel and in the history of the
church, EVERY revival has begun with
people weeping. Now we have liars from
hell, sent by the devil, telling us revivals
begin with people laughing. They must
be purged or there will be no revival.
But revival will not come without the
church coming together in prayer. Why
won’t people come out for prayer meetings? Why won’t people become active in
evangelism? They want entertainment. If
you have a “celebration of praise”, they’ll
all be there to see the show or hear the
concert, but they’ll stay home from prayer
meetings or evangelistic strategy meetings.
Revival is a sovereign move of God. We
cannot make it happen, but we can petition.
But I can tell you that God wants to
bring revival. He always wants to give a last
chance. He even gave Judas a last chance.
He dipped the sop and showed him favor
in the Jewish tradition by giving it to him.
If revival comes, it cannot prevent the Judgment, it can only delay it.
While there is no formula for making revival happen, there is a formula
to make revival happen on a personal
level. Every one of us can have revival
in our own life. Every husband and wife
can have a revival in their own marriage
and in their own family. It’s called “returning to your first love” (Rev. 2:4-5).
If every Christian had a revival in their
own lives and then came together on Sunday, what would you have? A revival. And
it’s contagious. Revival is just as contagious
as decline. It’s just as contagious as sin.
No, there is no formula to make revival happen for the whole church, but
the church is made up not of bricks and
mortar, but of living stones (1 Pet. 2:5).
•

There MUST be a radical return
to financial integrity. I had hoped after Jim Bakker they would have cleaned
up their act, but it’s only gotten worse!
There must be a realization that
God’s house is in a state of disrepair. Instead of building up the body
of Chrsit, they’re building physical
houses, forgetting that the church is a
spiritual house. I’m not against buildings,
but the church is not brick and mortar.
A rediscovery of the Word. People
are reading Purpose Driven instead of
the Word of God. If people really read
the Word of God, they wouldn’t read
Purpose Driven, they would see themselves as the filthy sinners they are and
turn to God in sackcloth and ashes.
Repentance? A renewed commitment to keep the covenant of God. Revealing our commitment every week?
Let a man examine himself before we
come to the Lord’s table (1 Co. 11:28).
A radical demolition of the idolatry
that’s been allowed to come into
the church visible and invisible, including
Mammon
worship
popularized by the prosperity gospel.
And a purge of unfaithful clergy.
Those who compromised. Nobody who
went to Toronto and promoted that fiasco
has a right to be a pastor unless he publicly
repented of it, admitting it was wrong. I
only know of two and God blessed those
guys. There are probably some others,
but not many coming out publicly against
their involvement. There is no repentance.
They just go from one thing to another: Alpha, the Purpose Driven, Toronto, Emergent. These men must be purged, kicked
out of the ministry. It has to be radical.
As in the case of the reign of King Asa,
revivals do not begin by building up, but
with tearing down. Revival never begins
by building up. “Oh, you’re not on fire!
You’re just ripping down others!” Revival
begins by tearing down, not by building
up, getting rid of what is not Scriptural.

TBN: THE FLEECING OF CHRISTIANITY
CHAPTER 9 - BENNY
HINN:
A
CANDIDATE
If someone had asked me twenty years
ago who I thought was the most likely person to be the false prophet, I would have
said Pope John Paul II without hesitation.
But now he is history, although during his
pontificate he did more than any other pope
to set the stage for the rise of the antichrist.
A friend asked me a startling question. What if a future pope had the same
ecumenical/one-world emphasis as the
last pope plus the metaphysical power of
a Benny Hinn to wave his hand and knock
people on their backs en-masse? A scary
thought. Yet until such a pope arrives, I
believe the spirit of antichrist is hard at
work overshadowing the life of Benny
Hinn who at the moment holds the best
promise to be the prophesied false prophet.
Those are strong words against one
who is admired in the Christian community second-most only to Joel Osteen. This
chapter will document how I arrived at
such a conclusion. It is important to keep
in mind that God is the one to determine the
timing of end-time events and to that extent
the devil is on a leash. The spirit of the age
will have many dry runs before he has his
seven years of glory upon the earth. So I
am not saying that Hinn is the false prophet, but that he is the best candidate the devil
has on the world scene and the spirit of antichrist is evidently at work in Hinn’s life.
A head of an Assemblies of God media ministry said it well, “Many are keenly
interested in the prophecies concerning
Antichrist -- that figure oozing with charisma, energized by Satan himself, who
will one day lead most of the world. But
the coming figure I find even more intriguing is the False Prophet -- the real power
broker. In many ways the False Prophet
will be much more devastating than the
Antichrist. This evil source will be the
scourge of the nations, frightening them
into cowering submission to the will of
the Antichrist. But before that evil creature
emerges, his way will have been prepared
in advance by thousands of false prophets!
In fact, many of these false prophets are
among us right now having a field day!”
As pointed out in the last chapter, false
prophets and false christs have risen among
us in great measure. These are the trend-
setters
in
t h e
church today, leading people into apostasy in great numbers. The televangelists
achieve false conversions by the thousands
as people respond to the appeal to “try
Christianity” to see if it will bring them
wealth, health, and success in the world.
Benny Hinn has made himself vulnerable to these dark forces, though an
apparent struggle is taking place. This
same struggle has been evident in Paul
Crouch’s life over the years. Both men
are sought after by many an opportunist due to their powerful positions in the
Christian media. Over and over again,
Hinn and Crouch have made corrections
only to have all the good undone by the
smooth words of ambitious heretics.
False Prophetess
The New Testament is replete with
warnings against the harm done by people with selfish ambition, a trait that permeates the airwaves of TBN. And both
Crouch and Hinn have wives that also
seem to undo the Lord’s correction of
their husbands again and again. Hinn’s
wife Suzanne has introduced her husband
to some of the worst false prophets, including the former Kansas City prophets.
Hinn describes his wife as the Pentecostal in the family. “My wife is the dancer in the family,” Hinn told the Crouches
during a Praise program, referring to dancing in the spirit. “When we met it was the
opposite because when we met she was so
Pentecostal. Oh yeah, she even prayed like
Pentecostals.” “How was that,” responded
Jan Crouch, a bit confused. “I’m not sure
I can describe it,” said Hinn. “You know
how Pentecostals pray?” “We are Pentecostals, Benny!” Jan retorted. “I’m not
getting into this tonight,” said Hinn. “But
she loves to dance and I just watch her.”
In fact, Suzanne Hinn has acted in very
embarrassing ways over the years. One of
her strange antics was caught on tape and
footage was shown in a segment of GodStuff, a feature that used to run regularly
on Comedy Central’s Daily Show, starring
John Stewart. At a meeting at Orlando
Christian Center, the church Hinn formerly
pastored, Mrs. Hinn got carried away in the
spirit, and said that “if your engines aren’t
revved up, then what you need is a Holy
Ghost enema right up your rear end.” After
that statement, GodStuff showed her charging back and forth like a wild elephant
until she went down on her stomach and
slid across the stage. It was especially
shocking because that took place before
her mysterious hernia operation left her
100 pounds lighter, something that a stomach-stapling operation would accomplish.
Suzanne Hinn is a part of a women’s
group called the Endtime Handmaidens
that chase after every false move of a spirit
there is. Mrs. Hinn introduced her husband
to the late Ruth Heflin, the undiscerning
woman infamous for introducing Silvania, the Brazilian gold lady, to the church.
Silvania made the charismatic circuit of
churches manifesting supposed gold dust
all over her face and hair. The dust was later examined and discovered to be nothing
but cheap plastic glitter. But even after the
evidence was shown, Heflin and Suzanne
Hinn continued to advocate it was from
God. Mysteriously Benny Hinn himself
produced the gold dust manifestation on his
own face, whether it was the result of a false
spirit or a fiendish prank one cannot be sure.
“You know a prophetess sent me a word
through my wife,” Hinn told a captivated
audience during a TBN Praise-a-Thon in
April of the year 2000. “She said, ‘tell your
husband that Jesus is going to physically appear in his meetings.’” (Heflin died of cancer
the following September at the age of 60.)
Hinn then excitedly said to Paul Crouch,
“I know deep in my soul something supernatural is going to happen in Nairobi, Kenya. I feel that I may very well come back
-- and you and Jan are coming too -- we
may very well come back with footage of
Jesus on the platform!” He then went on to
claim that Jesus had already been showing
up in various places. “You know that the
Lord appeared in Romania recently,” said
Hinn, “and there’s a video of it. . . Paul, do
you remember when I came on TBN years
ago and showed you a clip of the Lord apDecember 2007 • Moriel Quarterly

pearing in our church in Orlando, on the
balcony on the wall? . . . this manifestation of the Lord’s face on the balcony, that
stayed for eight weeks. Eight solid weeks!
. . . I am prophesying this! Jesus Christ,
the Son of God, is about to appear physically in some churches, and some meetings, and to many of his people, for one
reason -- to tell you he is about to show
up! To wake up! Jesus is coming, saints!”
However, when the Kenya meeting
came and went and nothing resembling
Jesus showed up in the crowd of a million people, Hinn did not back down, but
for a while kept looking for such a thing
to happen. His reference to a face that
appeared some twenty years ago on the
balcony of his church sounds strangely
similar to the many so-called manifestations of “Jesus” and “Mary” on buildings, in trees, and in tortillas that many
Roman Catholics flock to see. The Bible
calls such things “lying signs and wonders.” And Paul Crouch has pointed out
that he has much in common with Catholics because “they believe in miracles.”
Hinn also made a wild claim that Jesus
was appearing physically to the Arab world.
“Now something else is happening that is
to me awesome. Absolutely awesome!
The Lord is physically appearing in the
Muslim world. I’m telling you, Paul, I am
hearing it now more and more and more.”
Hinn defends his anticipation of a
physical visit from Jesus by saying it is biblical since after His death Jesus appeared
to many. But what he forgets is the word
of the angel who upon Jesus’ ascension
into heaven said, “Men of Galilee, why
do you stand gazing up into heaven? This
same Jesus, who was taken up from you
into heaven, will so come in like manner as
you saw Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).
In like manner is not showing up in
some crowd somewhere, but when He
returns --- every eye will see Him. That’s
not to say that Jesus has never appeared to
anyone in a vision as He did to the Apostles Paul and John after His ascension.
But these were not physical visits in this
earthly dimension as Hinn is anticipating
and as many false prophets such as Rick
Joyner have claimed to have experienced.
Hinn needs to take heed to a biblical
warning. Dave Hunt said it bluntly, “Now
if the real Jesus is going to catch us up and
we’re going to meet Him in the air, and
you’re looking for a Christ who, when you
meet him your feet are planted on planet
earth and he has simply arrived to take
over this beautiful kingdom you have established, you have been laboring under a
horrible delusion and you have been following the antichrist, not the real Christ.”

Annoying Anointing
Over his career, Hinn has startled so
many viewers of his daily program, This is
Your Day and TBN’s Praise the Lord with
his guttural anointing and stories of both
friendly and hostile spirit visitors. Even his
own children are frightened when he takes
on a different persona or as Hinn puts it:
“when the anointing hits me I change;
Benny becomes a different boy, and something happens inside of me.” “I do not even
identify with the Benny Hinn you see on
television because it’s a different man; it’s
not me. My children are afraid of me under the anointing. What they do not know
is that I’m afraid of the anointing too.”
And yet Hinn afflicted his own children with this power: “When God touches
your children in your meeting it’s special!
And my little Joshua who wouldn’t have
known a thing about what’s been going on
in our meetings, when the power of God
hit him -- now he’s only 8 years old -- he
began to vibrate. You saw him! And you
saw him! It was awesome! I never expected to see my kid do the same things
all the other kids were doing . . . I’m telling you it’s real. When it hits your kid,
it’s real!”-- Fall - 1999 Praise-a-Thon
Was it really the power of God that
“hit” that child, vibrating uncontrollably
with a confused and startled look on his
face? Hinn has admitted that when he becomes that other entity even his own children are afraid of him. During another of
his meetings where this so-called “electrical current” hit the people, his niece came
to the platform also displaying this diabolical manifestation. She jerked and shook
along with many other youth whose trembling bodies covered the entire platform.
A couple of weeks after this meeting
in Denver, Colorado, Hinn commented
on it on a Praise the Lord program. “I’ve
not seen the power of God I’m seeing now
in our meetings,” Hinn said excitedly. “I
mean to see the kids electrocuted .” Fortunately for the young people, they don’t
even remember what happened afterwards. Hinn explains, “Three people had
that experience that were thrown, and I’m
not sure what happened to them… I asked
them, ‘please tell me what was it that happened to you?’ They can’t even remember
anything happening to them.” Paul Crouch
replied, “What happened to them?” “Paul,
when I felt this atmosphere on me, and
I spoke of a word, FIRE, like that (Hinn
screams “fire”), they were thrown in the
air, began to roll real rapidly, and they
went into the, what do you call that, like
when a baby -- a fetal position, with their
bodies vibrating from head to toes violently, almost to the place you thought some-
thing physically was wrong with them .”
And of course as is Hinn’s style, anytime weird, metaphysical shenanigans occur at his crusades, he sends out a spiritual
threat to any who obey the Lord’s command to “test the spirits” and discern error.
Hinn once warned that those who criticize him will drop dead. “The church was
born with power,” he pontificated, “going
out with greater power. The Bible declares
that even those who opposed them dropped
dead…. Those who touched the anointing were judged instantly…We are about
to enter into that dimension. It’s going to
be a most frightening time for the world,
a most glorious time for you. Look, I am
telling you what the Lord is telling me.”
During this stretch of time that these
manifestations prevailed, Hinn’s persona
took on a very ghoulish voice and appearance. You could literally see the change
overtake him, much in the same way you
might see a spirit medium be taken over by
an evil spirit. One observer noted, “Hinn
is now so far gone in his ‘ministry’ that
he is growling and snarling like a beast,
and cursing those who resist him. He is
also manifesting classic signs of possession, for his voice changes to that of another person at times during his meetings.”
At this particular meeting in Denver in
September of 1999, as Hinn’s voice took
on a demonic tone, he growled in a hideous voice and as if in pain he said, “If I
don’t release it, I’ll blow up. If I don’t release the anointing I’ll blow up. I got to release it on somebody.” Then Hinn stopped
as if he could hear a voice, with his hand
cupping his ear, he said, “Yes, lord. I’ll
do it. I place a curse on every man and
woman that will stretch his hand against
this anointing. I curse that man who dares
to speak a word against this ministry.”
He played this footage a couple of
weeks later when he was a guest on the
Praise the Lord program. He came on
to defend his indefensible behavior. He
said that an “apostle” in South Africa
suggested, “’Why don’t you speak judgment?’ I said, ‘What are you talking
about?’ He said, ‘You are entitled now
because they blasphemed the Holy Spirit,
so tell God what you want to see done.’”
After this display played out, Hinn
called TBN founder Paul Crouch to the
stage and with the same guttural voice.
Crouch complied and stood there with
a look of astonishment upon his face as
Hinn addressed him first-person as if God
were speaking. He said, “I the lord have
called TBN mine. TBN is not yours, it is
mine says the lord.” Crouch is now totally
set up to submit TBN’s future to Benny
Hinn who now calls the shots when he
can speak to Crouch on God’s behalf. The

Crouches acknowledge Hinn’s authority at TBN jokingly calling Paul the Air
Force and Benny the Marines of TBN.
Power Source
Charisma magazine’s publisher Steven Strang interviewed Benny Hinn during the heyday of the now fizzled River
movement of which Hinn was an element,
and asked him where he thought the latest “revival” was leading. “Well, I can
tell you; it’s like a river,” Hinn responded. “The minute it starts moving, it goes
into dry places. I mean the Bible says that
God will bring rivers in the wilderness.”
Hinn, in his attempt to defend “The River” manifestations actually hit on the key to
its source -- dry places. Jesus explained it
in the twelfth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew: “When an unclean spirit goes out of
a man, he goes through dry places, seeking
rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will
return to my house from which I came.’
And when he comes, he finds it empty,
swept, and put in order. Then he goes and
takes with him seven other spirits more
wicked than himself, and they enter and
dwell there; and the last state of that man is
worse than the first. So shall it also be with
this wicked generation” (Matt. 12:43-45).
It would seem that Hinn gave away the
secret source of power that fueled the Toronto “Revival” and his own simultaneous
“Fire” anointing. For the past several years
both have been somewhat quiet. Could this
be a warning that when the evil spirit returns
from the dry places he will bring seven more
evil ones along with him? Time will tell.
The so-called River movement that
began with the holy laughter wind from
Rodney Howard-Browne and branched
off into the Vineyard churches wrecked
many lives. Phenomena with which the
church seemed to be inebriated included,
barking like dogs, roaring like lions, clucking like chickens, and what amounted to
the animalization of Christianity. Even the
secular media took notice and all the major networks visited the Toronto Airport
Christian Fellowship and caught on camera people acting mad and blaming it on
the Holy Spirit for the whole world to see.
It has long been discredited but not before
causing much damage to the reputation of
the Holy Spirit. Footage from TACF resembled scenes from the old movie The
Snake Pit that examined people being given
over to their madness in an insane asylum.
Jacob Prasch rightly pointed out,
“Some people try to justify this by saying, ‘we know this phenomenon we have
from Toronto is of God because we asked
him for a fish. He won’t give us a serpent’ (Matt. 7:11). If you ask for a fish
and you get a serpent, you can be sure
the serpent didn’t come from the Father.
If you’re holding a snake in your hand,
it doesn’t look like a mackerel, does it?”
Sounds like simple, sound reasoning. Compare that reaction to that of
charismatic pastor Jack Hayford, who is
usually the conservative voice at TBN.
He said, “There is a river that’s coming
your way, hallelujah! You decide whether you’re going to come in. . . You start
swimming. You don’t look, once you’re
in the river, folks, you don’t. If you ever
get nervous, people say, there are people
that stand on the banks or stand ankledeep and criticize the swimmers and say,
‘They don’t have the same solid stance
that we do.’ Yeah, but we’re going places
you never been either. You’re not going to get there until you move beyond.”
Hayford exhorted his own congregation that day not to criticize or even test the
latest wave but to jump in without looking
-- Not very good advice for a shepherd to
give his flock. Now that this latest craze
has come and gone with no good impact
on the church or society to speak of, everyone is left waiting for the spirits to
come back from the day places and stir
up a new wind. Until that time, Hinn has
again turned toward finding some level of
respectability and during this quiet time
invites guests like prophecy teachers Tim
LaHaye and Grant Jeffrey on his program.
One of Hinn’s most common pleas
to God that he shares with his viewers is,
“Dear God, don’t ever take the anointing from me. I’d rather die.” Well, that
anointing has subsided for now at least
and Hinn doesn’t look like he’s ready
to keel over. He should enjoy the break
in the madness before the next wave.
Hauntings
Over the years, Hinn has told incredible stories of heavenly and hellish visitations -- some while awake and some
in his sleep. One particularly frightening
story concerned his wife, Suzanne. “Two
o’clock in the morning, I wake up and
my wife is choking in bed,” Hinn told
a wide-eyed Paul Crouch on the October 23, 1999 broadcast of Praise. “The
devil trying to kill her,” Hinn continued.
“My wife wasn’t acting like my wife. I
saw my own wife attacked. It was like
the last thing I could handle, I think.”
On the other hand, Hinn supposedly
has access to good angels. Paul Crouch
agrees and stated as fact, “I can pray,
‘God send my angel to go get him. . . sic
him!’” Benny responded, “Do you know
why Jesus said if you call twelve legions?
(sic) One for each disciple -- eleven and
himself. Which means we don’t have
one angel each, we have 6,000 a piece.
Based upon that scripture every believer
has a legion of angels. Ecclisiastes 5:6
says speaking the wrong words in their
presence will bring us destruction. If we
speak something wrong in their presence
they will harm us . . . We don’t realize
sometimes that our words cause them to
move whether positive or negative . . .
The Bible says our words provoke them.”
What sort of angels can these be if
Crouch can sic them on people as if they
were invisible attack dogs? Hinn’s legion
sounds pretty frightful as well since Hinn
has to watch his mouth so they don’t murder him. One of the angels Hinn claims to
have contact with is the archangel Michael.
Here is his absolutely ludicrous account:
“I awakened half-way in the night and
I looked and there was a gentleman -- big
-- looked like a man -- six feet . . . maybe
more than that, wearing a hood, black,
dressed in black. I couldn’t see the face.
I saw hands coming out of this horrible
looking robe . . . and long fingers with
nails and he came at me to choke me and
I was so frightened. . . And I screamed,
‘Jesus help me!’ Suddenly something
amazing happened, only happened to me
one time. I came out of my body just like
that, but only half. Half of me was down,
half of me was up, but from my waist
down I was still in the body. Waist up I
was out of the body. And I looked and
there I saw myself laying there. . . And
just as I was out of the body, I saw the
angels come into my room. I hadn’t seen
them till that moment. Two now -- Two
angels came in . . . one took this being
and pushed it toward the wall. Now I do
believe that was the angel of death. This
thing in black was an angel and this angel of the lord held him back and he was
fighting him. . . This evil angel dressed in
black fought real viciously and kept wanting to come near me but he could not. He
was held back. (Describes other angel) .
. . He was more glorious than the other
one . . . I saw a very beautiful wide face,
magnificent hair, curly . . . round curls all
around, blonde, the blondest blonde I’ve
ever seen in my life. I saw bluish eyes
that looked through me (blinding white
clothes) . . . Suddenly a third angel comes
in . . . And called him by name. I didn’t
know who he was till I heard his name.
I’m telling you, God is my witness. He
called him Michael. He said, ‘Michael.’
Word for word, with my hand on this precious Bible. God is my witness and he’ll
judge me if I’m telling anything untrue.
He said, ‘Michael, Michael, someone else
is in trouble’ . . . And when he spoke, his
voice sounded like Niagara Falls . . . And
December 2007 • Moriel Quarterly

the second he said, ‘You take care of him,’
I was back in my body and the whole thing
disappeared out of my sight. The only
thing I saw is the black thing held to the
wall but I didn’t see the angel holding him.
... I went back in my body, outstretched
and started singing Hallelujah . . .”
He’s right about one thing -- God is
his witness. Some of Hinn’s angelic visitations sound eerily similar to the stories of
UFO abductees -- the ones they give while
under hypnosis. “For a whole year nearly
every night I’d see angels in my room . . .
I never saw them in the daytime. I would
only see them when I’d wake up at night.
I’d see them standing in a corner talking.
I sometimes see three, four, and a number
of times again (puts his hand on the Bible).
If you have a problem, it’s your problem,
but I’m telling you the truth. I saw what
looked like children, looked just like little
kids -- frightened me -- Never said a word
to me . . . They’d just look at me . . . I
got the feeling that, ‘What does God want
with him?’ I’m serious . . . It almost gave
me the feeling of I was being studied . . .”
Hopefully none of these angels put
him on a gurney and inserted any probes
into his body. But, not to worry, according to Hinn’s traveling tenor, Steve Brock,
Hinn has power over all devils as was reported in the August, 1997 TBN newsletter. It read: “At a recent crusade, the Lord
gave Steve Brock a powerful word: That
as Pastor Benny shares this testimony
(of Hinn casting out demons), whenever
he comes to a city, the demons over that
city will flee, crying, ‘The man of God
is coming; the man of God is coming!’”
Hinn truly mesmerizes his fans with
such wild and crazy stories as they perceive
him as some great anointed saint. After all,
who else could live between heaven and
earth like a man who is in constant contact
with angels? And he strikes fear into them.
Who would want to go up against that
kind of power? I’ve received many letters
from these followers who have taken issue with articles I have on-line documenting many of Hinn’s errors. Many of them
are desperate in their warnings thinking
that anyone taking a public stand against
Hinn’s anointing is walking on thin ice.
Here’s a selection of those we’ve received:
“Please do not put anything on this
website saying anything about any man of
God -- whether it be truth or not. The word
is very clear in saying, ‘Touch not mine
anointed and do my prophets no harm.’ I
have no idea if your message is truth or not
and do not care. If you think that Benny
Hinn is in the wrong over something, then
as a Christian your job is to pray God’s
will, not to spread evil reports.” -- VS
Here’s one person delivered from God
10
December 2007 • Moriel Quarterly
himself: “It is a dangerous thing to come
against the Lord’s anointed, and I issue a
warning to those who constantly criticize,
nit-pick, and find fault with those I have
set in ministry. Who set you as judge? Who
appointed you to tear and bite and devour?
I tell you the truth, whatever you sow is
what you will reap. Prepare to be torn and
devoured, for you have hardened your
heart; this hardness is against Me.” - MB
And another: “No weapon formed
against Benny Hinn shall prosper and every tongue that rises up against him God
will judge, because his righteousness is
from Him. In the name of Jesus.” - SC
“Proverbs 19:5 - a false witness will
not go unpunished. What you say about
him, you better be right! Critical and faultfinding is not a nature of Jesus.” - HH
Notice that all of these Hinn followers mimic his threats and take everything he says seriously. If Hinn gave
the word, I wouldn’t be surprised if they
would kill for him. This sort of loyalty
will come in handy if indeed Hinn turns
out to be the forerunner of the antichrist.
Prophetic Track Record
Benny Hinn cashes in on the superstitions that he has planted into people’s
minds by using his place of power to compel people to donate to his ministry and that
of TBN. That has already been documented in the fundraising chapter. Hinn shared
his dream that the prophet Elijah handed
off his rod of authority to him and then
with that authority commanded the people
to empty their pockets. He warned TBN
supporters that those who hold back from
giving would not survive the year 2001 as
was supposedly prophesied by 700 Club
founder Pat Robertson. Yet, when 2001
came and went there were no casualties
to report and no apologies forthcoming.
On New Years’ Eve 1989, Hinn said
that the homosexual community of America
would be destroyed in the mid-1990s and attributed that bit of information to the Lord.
At that same service, Hinn prophesied that
an earthquake would destroy much of the
East Coast of America in the 1990s and that
Fidel Castro would die at the same time.
More than ten years later in the year
2000, Hinn told the Crouches on Praise
that he was trying to get his crusade into
Cuba. Jan Crouch asked him, “Are you going to Cuba?” “The thing with Cuba…is
the door’s opened for us,” Hinn responded,
“but I will not go till I have in writing on
paper that I’m allowed to preach freely…
I want it in writing that I’m free to minister freely and when I get that thing in writing, I’ll go… And Cuba’s gonna open up
no matter what, cause God said it would.”
Did God say Cuba would open up to
Hinn before or after God told him that
Castro would die sometime in the 1990s?
Hinn’s track record seems to get worse
as time passes. Just before America sent
troops to Iraq in 2003, Hinn prophesied
over the coming invasion. He went on
both Praise the Lord and TBN’s Behind
the Scenes programs to get his important
message out to all. He also sounded the
warning on his own television program.
Again he heard another audible voice
in the dark in the middle of the night. “I
awakened hearing, ‘rivers of blood, rivers
of blood,’ almost shouting it in my ears.
And I awakened with the words, ‘rivers
of blood.’ So you can tell this is not going to be an easy future for the world.”
Later on in the week, Hinn addressed
TBN’s studio audience on the Praise program. “The Lord revealed to me what’s
coming in the next few days and weeks
with this war with Iraq. I will tell you
this… Dangerous days are ahead for this
world… Satan is ready to unleash horror and terror on this earth as never before… I saw things that frightened me…
If I’ll share what I saw with you right
now, this studio audience would run out
of this studio and get on their face before God… The Lord said that only those
who pray will escape.” Those following
days and weeks actually turned out good
for America, but over the years of occupying Iraq a different picture emerged.
It is hard to believe that anyone
could take Hinn seriously with this pitiful track record of prognosticating.
Even Sister Cloe has a better record than
Benny Hinn, yet the crowds at his crusades have not diminished in the least.
Part of his mystique comes from his
own boyish charm alongside charisma
and pure animal magnetism. People are
attracted to him, even though he’s a little
guy with funny hair and past the prime of
life. Some of what people call “slaying in
the spirit” could well be women swooning over him as they would a popular rock
star. This author has spoken to several
women who have met him face to face,
and all bear testimony to an unnatural attraction – even experienced by discerning women who consider him a heretic.
And one glance at the faces at a Benny
Hinn crusade tells it all. I’ve been to his
crusades and noticed that the eyes of his
admirers never remove their gaze from
him and they stare at him glassy-eyed with
tears rolling down their cheeks. His reception even surprises him at times. Once he
commented to Paul Crouch how governments around the world were receiving
him as if he were a head of state. Coming
off of airplanes in some third-world coun-

tries such as New Guinea, Hungary, the
Ukraine, Liberia, and the Ivory Coast, government officials would greet Hinn to give
him an official welcome. In Trinidad he
was “shocked to see a big band playing and
the army there and the generals…and thousands of people on the street,” Hinn said.
“And I think, ‘My God, who’s here, Jesus?” “Yeah, he was!” responded Crouch.”
One observer noted Hinn’s hypnotic
power over the people at his 1999 Philadelphia crusade. “One requirement for hypnosis is that the subject be willing. There
were roughly 19,000 subjects who were not
merely willing, but eager. Any commands
Hinn gave were instantly obeyed: “Raise
your hands”, he says, and a sea of hands
fly up. “Stand up,” he says, and his followers erupt from their seats…Hinn’s ‘theme
song’ ..is a song I once thought beautiful,
yet which has now been darkened for me
in seeing thousands of people use it to
work themselves into a trance-like state
of undoubtedly high suggestibility. All the
‘healings’ reflect this; there is nothing verifiable, no documented long-term freedom
from disease or disability. People who are
well able to make their way forward gush
about their aches and pains disappearing
under Hinn’s ‘ministrations’, while those
with real needs sit ignored in the back.”
Hinn’s ability to draw such a crowd
proved to be a help to TBN heir-apparent,
Matthew Crouch, during the filming of
TBN’s apocalypse film “Megiddo.” Footage from Hinn’s Nairobi crusade and the
people raising their hands in adoration towards Hinn was used in the film to show
crowds adulating the Antichrist, played by
Michael York. Hinn also uses an aerial
view of his crowd with a blue filter over it
as a background on his website. It resembles what the books of Daniel and Revelation allude to as a sea of humanity from
which the beast rises. This eerie backdrop
of a blue sea of humanity imposed upon
a globe of the earth is on all the pages of
Hinn’s site at the time of this writing. .
Hinn’s view of himself is rather high
because of his false teaching that bornagain believers become just like Jesus was
when He was on the earth. When Hinn
was pastoring Orlando Christian Center, he
would lead his congregation in a chant, “I
am a God-man; I am a God-man.” During
one of his sermons called, “Our Position
in Christ,” that he preached in December,
1990 at the “Miracle Invasion” convention
in Anaheim, California, Hinn prepared the
people for what was coming by saying,
“Get ready for revelation knowledge!”
It had to come by spirit revelation because he couldn’t have come up with this
teaching by careful exegesis of the Bible.
“The limitless God became a man,
that we men may become as He is,” Hinn
growled in his visionary guttural tone.
“When I stand in Christ, I am one with
Him…I am not -- hear me! I am not a
part of Him, I am him! The Word has
become flesh in me!…He became a full
man, so you and I become fully God on
earth.” And then Hinn ended his message with his usual warning for his listeners not to test what he gets from divine
revelation. “Don’t question this teaching. Only the immature question it.”
Before the days of Hinn’s guttural
anointings, it seems that God gave him a
warning in a true word from the Holy Spirit. Back in June of 1987, Hinn preached
a message to his congregation about the
dangers of false prophets coming into the
church. He said, “Today the Lord has made
it very clear to me that I am to warn you today of what’s coming…And the Bible tells
me if I don’t tell you, God will require the
blood on my hands!” Could he be unknowingly speaking of himself when he then
said, “Many ministers of the Gospel started right -- today they are way off. God will
judge them for being way off and forget
all good, all righteousness done before.”
“What’s the message out there today?”
Hinn asked rhetorically. “It’s a message
of ego, pride, and selfishness. It’s a message of mine, me, I, show me how to get
more!…If I hear prosperity one more time
I’m gonna throw up. True prosperity has
nothing to do with money! True prosperity
is contentment with whatsoever state I am.”
He continued, “There’s too much today being preached that’s not Gospel;
and I was preaching it myself because I
honestly believed that these men whom
I respect must be hearing from God. And
if they’re saying it, well it must be God.
To then discover that the Scripture states
completely the opposite.… You are as
tired and as sick of money-hungry, greedy
hypocrites to where you almost threw
up. They come to empty your pockets, promising you mountains of gold…
you haven’t gotten one mountain yet.”
And sadly, Hinn rightly prophesied,
“God is sick of it…I fear for these men. Unless they wake up they may find themselves
in a pit they’ll not get out of.” Later Hinn
really hit the proverbial nail on the head.
“Any preacher that doesn’t preach self-denial, the cross, the blood, is a false prophet.”
Wow! How soon he forgot his own
wisdom. He admitted later that the one
who changed his mind and convinced him
that the prosperity gospel was true was
none other than Oral Roberts. Hinn testified on the Praise program on April 3,
1991, that he invited Oral Roberts to be
a guest speaker at his church. Oral taught
Hinn the give-to-get gospel and that the
Lord later confirmed the teaching. Hinn
said, “And the Lord came to me and said,
‘Do you believe this or not?’ I said, ‘yes,
Lord.’ He said, ‘Now start sowing your
seed and thanking Me for the harvest.’”
It didn’t take long for Hinn to go
headlong into that error and become just
as money-hungry as the false prophets he
had labeled a few years before. One former Hinn supporter was shocked at just
how far Hinn got in his quest for the almighty dollar. This man had been a regular donor to Benny Hinn Ministries and
received an invitation from Hinn’s staff
to join him for supper after his local crusade. The donor was excited about the opportunity. He said, “The day finally came
when we were to meet with him. We were
taken by security personnel to a private
room where we met twenty to thirty others who were there by special arrangement…Hinn came out in his Italian suit,
Rolex, gold, etc. And all along, I thought
the man wanted to meet us for something
special. He did. He wanted a jet airplane…
a new ‘vision’ of the Lord. He wanted all
of us to put seed money down on it. Most
of the people in the room pulled out their
checkbooks and started writing immediately. We felt personally embarrassed, and
we did not expect to have the ‘squeeze’ put
on us.” After the checks were taken, “he
took each check, read the amounts out loud
to all others and let us all get compared
to one another… As soon as the money
was collected, he had to leave the room.”
Ever since Hinn went along with Oral
Roberts, the elder seems to have targeted
the younger as his own choice of a successor. As earlier noted, Roberts thinks
that Hinn is equivalent to a modern-day
Noah’s ark. It seems that all the false
prophets look to Benny Hinn as the top
banana. Even Rodney Howard-Browne,
the notorious inventor of the holy laughter craze that invaded Toronto and the
world, points to Benny Hinn as his source
of inspiration and metaphysical power.
Howard-Browne explained this to
Hinn once on Hinn’s daily TV program.
“I sat down in your chair (upon visiting
Hinn’s set) and I was pretending to be you.
I looked at the camera and picked up one
of the video tapes and held it in my hand
and I said, ‘People, I tell you there’s a wonderful anointing!’” “You were trying to
imitate me?” asked a surprised Hinn. The
laughing evangelist replied, “Some people
think I’m crazy when I say this, but this is
a fact. I was there when it happened! If
you’ve ever seen a movie where somebody
got struck by lightening . . . Well, through
the chair, the power of God just come up
and hit me . . . my eyes got big. They all
felt the presence of God (Kent Maddoux

Truly Benny Hinn has all the qualifications the spirit of antichrist requires in a
forerunner.

Herod The Great
Archaeologists in Israel claim to
have unearthed the tomb of King Herod.
Pieces of an elaborate sarcophagus
believed to contain Herod’s remains were
found at Herodium, a mesa rising more than
750 metres above sea level around 7.5 miles
south of Jerusalem in the occupiedWest Bank.
Herod built a palace on the flattened
hilltop and it was long thought that he
was buried on the site, but years of excavations failed to find his burial spot.
“Three weeks ago we found the sarcophagus and we knew that it was it,” said
Ehud Netzer, a professor of archaeology at
Hebrew University, who led the digs and has
been working at the site for three decades.
“The location and unique nature of the
findings, as well as the historical record, leave
no doubt that this was Herod’s burial site.”
Herod, sometimes called Herod the
Great, was appointed king of Judea by the
Romans in around 40 BC.
Famed for expanding the Jewish second temple during his reign in the first
century BC, Herod is best known for his
alleged role in the events known as the
Massacre of the Innocents, an account of
which appears in the Bible. According to
scripture, King Herod ordered the execution of all young male children in the village of Bethlehem, to avoid the loss of his
throne to a newborn “King of the Jews”.
Netzer said the tomb was discovered
when a team of researchers found pieces
of a limestone sarcophagus believed to
belong to the ancient king. Although there
were no bones in the container, he said
the sarcophagus’ location and ornate appearance indicated it belonged to Herod.
The discovery is likely to spark political
fallout in a region where archaeological finds
inevitably become linked to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and any claims that appear
to strengthen one side’s connection to the
land are viewed suspiciously by the other.
After the news conference, Shaul Goldstein, an official with the Gush Etzion Jewish settlement near the Herodium site, told
army radio that the find “constitutes new
proof of a connection between Gush Etzion and the Jewish people and Jerusalem.”

F2: Now faith is the asaith – Hebrews 11:1-
surance of things hoped for,
the conviction of things not
seen. For by it the men of old
gained approval. Hebrews 11:6:
‘‘And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who
comes to God must believe that
He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.’’
OK, I can understand faith
by its Biblical definitions, but
how do I get it and use it in
the everyday experiences of
life? In Luke 8, Jesus laid the
foundation by teaching His disciples that faith comes through
receiving the Word of God into
a receptive and understanding
heart. And in the latter part
of this chapter, He puts them
through a series of “examinations” to see how much they
had really learned. I think most
of us enjoy Bible study, but we
wish we could avoid the examinations that often follow the lessons. However, it is in the tests
of life that faith really grows
and we get closer to Christ.
In this parable Jesus tells
us of 4 types of seeds and it is
often called the Parable of the
Sower, but it could just as easily be called the Parable of the
Soil. Because the seed without
the soil is fruitless, and the soil
without the seed is almost useless. The human heart is like
soil: if it is prepared properly, it
can receive the seed of the Word
of God and produce a fruitful
harvest. Jesus described four
different kinds of hearts, three
of which did not produce any
fruit. The proof of salvation is
fruit and not merely hearing the
Word or making a profession of
faith in Christ. Jesus had already
made that clear in His Sermon
on the Mount (Luke 6:43-49).
While it is pretty easy to
understand the hearts of those
that don’t produce fruit, it is not
what I want to focus on here. The fourth
or good “soil” or heart alone is fruitful.
It shows us the individual who hears the
Word, understands it, receives it and is truly saved. This heart is proved by patiently
bringing forth fruit (1 Thes. 2:13; 1 Peter
1:22-25). Now I do want to state that everybody will not produce the same amount of
fruit (Matt. 13:8), but all true believers will
produce some fruit as evidence of spiritual
life. That fruit may include winning others to Christ (Rom. 1:13), money given to
God’s work (Rom. 15:25-28), good works
(Col. 1:10), Christian character (Gal. 5:2223), and praise to the Lord (Heb. 13:15).
Again, a true believer will produce fruit.
We have to remember Christ’s words:
Matt. 7:19-21”Every tree that does
not bear good fruit is cut down
and thrown into the fire. So
then, you will know them by
their fruits. Not everyone who
says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will
enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My
Father who is in heaven will
enter.
When we look at the present condition
of the church today and the small harvest,
and think of all the resources–sermons,
teachings, etc.–we wonder why there isn’t
more fruit. Could it be that the problem
is the soil that the heart is not submitting to God and repenting? The hearts of
people today seem hard and unwilling to
receive His Word in order to be saved.
The word parable means “to cast
alongside.” A parable is a story that teaches something new by putting the truth
alongside something familiar. Most Jews
were farmers or made their living from the
fruit of the land, so these images would be
familiar to them. While these images start
off as pictures they become mirrors when
we carefully consider them and what they
mean to us. Because most people don’t like
to examine themselves, this might explain
why people became angry with Jesus even
to the point of wanting to kill Him. Once
we hear the Word, receive it and understand it, then it is important for us to share
it. If we keep it to ourselves, we can lose
it, but if we share it we will receive more.
I think with all the preachers and teachers
on the radio and TV it would be very easy
for us to think of ourselves as “spiritual”
because of how much we listen or make
notes or mark our Bibles. But, it is another thing to take what we hear and put it into
practice. It is one thing to be an auditor of
the Word and another to be a doer. Aren’t
we going to be held responsible for what
we hear (Mark 4:24) and how we hear
Moriel America
(Luke 8:18)? But again, if we fail to share
what we have been given through our lives
we risk losing what we have received.
I think Jesus taught the apostles and us
deep mysteries of God and faith through the
parables of the kingdom. But I also think
that many people today fail to understand
that faith has to be tested to be trusted. It is
one thing to learn something; it is another
thing to put it into practice. A few weeks ago
I was boating across the Sea of Galilee and
I thought about how, when the storm came,
the apostles were afraid, but Jesus wasn’t.
I wondered, when the storm came in my
life would I be afraid or would I trust Jesus
for the peace to come? The disciples failed
to believe His word that they were going
to the other side of the lake. They looked
and saw the danger, the fear within them,
and failed to look up and see God and trust
Him. Oh that we could remember Isaiah’s
words, “Behold, God is my salvation; I
will trust and not be afraid.” (Isaiah 12:2).
As we continue in Chapter 8 of Luke
we see the almost superstitious faith of the
woman with an issue of blood. “If I could
just touch Him.” Yet the Lord honored this
mustard seed of faith by healing her. She
could have used any number of excuses not
to press in on Him like the crowd and not
approach in order to be close to Him. She
went further than the crowd and touched
Him. She knew He could heal her. Do our
circumstances keep us from putting our
faith into action? I find it amazing that the
crowd was close to Him but it was the one
that grabbed hold of His garment that was
healed. I do believe we can be close to Him
but miss the blessing that He wants to give
us because we don’t “touch Him” by faith.
If life takes its natural course all of
us will go the way of the grave and we
will come to that awful place that is so
strange and foreign. It is wonderful when
the Lord heals us, takes us through the
tough and terrible circumstances of this
life. But we have to go through those trials to ready us for the final test of faith,
the one where we trust Him for our eternal life. When we see Jairus being told
not to trouble Jesus because his daughter has died we know these people don’t
understand who Jesus is and what He can
do. Yes He can heal; yes He can calm the
storms and handle the circumstances of
our lives. But He can do much more as
Jairus was soon to find out. Jesus is “the
resurrection and the life” (John 11:25-26).
Had He not raised others from the grave
already? (Luke 7:14). But people become
discouraged by what is happening around
them, by the unbelief of others. People
laughed at Jesus that day and the little girl
rose. Today, people still mock Him and
reject His free gift of life. But we are not

Point of Interest
to be bound by what we see and feel, but
we are to be bound by His Word to our
hearts and minds, exercising faith that He
is looking over His Word to perform it.
Resurrection is a picture of the way Jesus
Christ saves lost sinners and raises them
from spiritual death (John 5:24; Eph.
2:1-10). The Gospels record three such
resurrections, though Jesus probably performed more. In each instance, the person
raised gave evidence of life. The widow’s
son began to speak (Luke 7:15), Jairus’
daughter walked and ate food, and Lazarus
was loosed from the graveclothes (John
11:44). When a lost sinner is raised from
the dead, you can tell it by his speech, his
walk, his appetite, and his “change of
clothes” (Col. 3:1). You cannot hide life!
Peter, James, and John accompanied
Jesus on three special occasions, and
this was the first. The second was on the
Mount of Transfiguration (Luke 9:28), and
the third was in the Garden of Gethsemane
(Mark 14:33). In the home of Jairus, they
learned that Jesus is victorious over death.
On the Mount of Transfiguration, they discovered that He would be glorified in His
death; and in the Garden, they saw that
He was surrendered to death. James was
the first of the Twelve to die (Acts 12:12), John the last to die, and Peter’s death
was predicted by Jesus (John 21:18-19;
2 Peter 1:13-21). All three men needed
these lessons, and we need them today.
Let us not be afraid of the tests of faith
that we experience, but keep our eyes on
Jesus knowing He is the perfector of our
faith and He will bring us through the
storms of life, the sickness, and through
the grave to experience eternal life. Yes,
a tested faith is one that can be trusted.

Jewish Persecution
Judaism and Christianity stem
from the same root, the Old Testament Scriptures. However, Judaism and
Christianity today, by and large, barely
recognize this similarity. Part of this is due
to the lies of Replacement Theology and
Dual Covenant Theology that circulate
Christian pulpits. Yet much of it has to do
with the fact that throughout the centuries,
Jewish People have been persecuted, massacred and tortured all under the name of
Jesus Christ. Is it any wonder why Jewish
People balk when Christians tell them that
Jesus is the Messiah?
The list below contains a fraction of the persecutions that have come
against the Jewish People throughout
the centuries. These are hard truths for
both Christians and Jews and it is also why
Messianic Jews are in such small number.
But with love and understanding, it is our
hope that the Church will become educated
to their Jewish roots and be aware of the
brutalities done to the Jewish People in the
name of Christ and come up with a way
to reach out to the Jewish People with the
truth, in love.
1181 AD
French King Philip banished the Jews from
his domain. They were permitted to sell all
movable possessions, but the permanent
possessions, such as land and houses, reverted to the king.
1189 AD
Jews were persecuted in England. The
crown claimed all Jewish possessions.
Many homes belonging to Jewish families
were burned
1215 AD
At the IV Lateran Church Council, canon
laws were passed requiring that “Jews and
Muslims shall wear special dress.” Later, it
was decreed that they also had to wear an
oval badge. This was to enable them to be
easily distinguished from Christians. This
practice later spread to other countries.
1229 AD
The Spanish Inquisition begins. Later, in
1252, Pope Innocent IV authorizes the use
of torture by the Inquisitors against the
Jews and other apostates.
1290 AD
Edward I banishes the Jews from England,
16,000 Jews were forced to leave the country.
1298 AD
Persecution of the Jews in Franconia, Bavaria and Austria. 140 Jewish communities
were destroyed, and more than 100,000
Jews were killed over a six-month period.
1348 AD
As the “Black Death” raged in Europe,
Jews were blamed for causing the Plague
by poisoning wells. About 5,000 Jews were
burned alive at the stake. In Bavaria alone,
12,000 Jews perished. Near Tours, an immense trench was dug, filled with blazing
wood, and in a single day 160 Jews were
burned.
1391 AD
Jewish persecutions began in Seville
and in 70 other Jewish communities
throughout Spain. Jews were cruely massacred and their bodies dismembered.
1394 AD
Jews were exiled, for the second time,
from France.
1434 AD
Jewish men in Augsburg had to sew yellow
buttons to their clothes. Jews were forced
to wear long undergarments, an overcoat
with a yellow patch, bells and tall pointed
hats with a large button.
1453 AD
Spanish Jews had been heavily persecuted
from the 14th Century. Many had converted to Christianity. The Spanish Inquisition
was set up by the church in order to detect
insincere conversions.
1492 AD
Jews were given the choice of being baptized as Christians or be banished from
Spain. 300,00 left Spain penniless. Many
migrated to Portugal and Turkey, where
they were later tortured, imprisoned and
killed. Others converted to Christianity,
but often continued to practice Judaism in
secret. In the years that followed, countless numbers of Jewish People were imprisoned, tortured and murdered simply
because they were Jews. All this done in
the name of Christ and Christianity.
1497 AD
Jews were banished from Portugal. 20,000
Jews left the country rather than be baptized as Christians. Many others became
slaves.
1516 AD
The Governor of the Republic of Venice
decided that Jews would be allowed to live
only in one area of the city. The area was
called ‘Getto Novo.’
1540 AD
Jews were exiled from Naples, Italy
1794 AD
Restriction of Jews in Russia: Jewish men
were forced to serve 25 years in the Russian military. Many hundreds of thousands
of Jews left Russia.

Iran vowed Sunday to use a
new 2,000-pound “smart” bomb
against its enemies and unveiled
mass production of the new weapon,
state
television
reported.
The government first announced
development of the long-range guided bomb Thursday, saying it could
be deployed by the country’s aging
U.S.-made F-4 and F-5 fighter jets.
“We will use these (bombs) against
our enemies when the time comes,”
Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad
Najjar said on state television Sunday.
Iran often announces new weapons
for its arsenal, but the United States
maintains that while the Islamic Republic has made some strides, many
of these statements are exaggerations.
The broadcast included a brief
clip of a fighter jet apparently dropping one of the bombs, which destroyed a target on the ground.
The defense minister continued
his threats as state television showed
him unveiling a mass production
line for the weapon in Tehran. ...
Emanuel Winston, a Middle East
analyst at the Houston-based Freeman Center for Strategic Studies, said
Thursday that Iran’s smart bomb claim
sounded “plausible” but said that it
would be less dangerous than a missile development program given the
limited range of the country’s aircraft.

Proverbs states there is a way
that “seems right” to man. [1] However, Jesus said what seems right
to man may not be right with Him.
[2] For this reason, Christians must
be led by the Spirit of God and follow God’s Word. [3] However, as
the Bible teaches, it is possible to
believe one is being led by God,
but instead be misled by Satan. [4]
Emerging Church propaganda
has created a major controversy within a number of fellowships that were
once made up of Bible believing and
teaching pastors. Pastors sympathetic
to the Emerging Church say Christianity must change or be reinvented if
we are going to be relevant and reach
the postmodern generation. Change
is necessary, they say, because Christianity is no longer relevant for
the postmodern era and the gospel
can no longer reach young people
who are looking for experiences.
Recently, a group of pastors
debating the pros and cons of the
Emerging Church in a private pastors’ discussion group, put forward
a number of ideas with regard to the
Emerging Church. Some felt that
older pastors (even the founder of
the movement) were out of touch
with today’s youth and therefore no
longer relevant. Apparently, teaching the Scriptures verse by verse and
pointing people to the soon return of
Jesus had its day, but not anymore.
Of course being relevant and
reaching this generation for Christ is
of vital importance. However, reaching people for Christ must be based
on the Scriptures which are always
relevant, if we are going to hold fast
to the faith. [5] Not so, you see, with
the Emerging Church. Promoters say
that being relevant means augmenting
the Scriptures by stimulating the senses with sounds, smells and images.
According to Emerging Church
leaders, reaching people is often
equated with finding ways to encourage people to come to church. This
is in keeping with the Peter Drucker
church growth model that has been incorporated by Bill Hybels, Rick Warren and
others. In order for the sheep to be “driven” the pastor must designate a purpose in
order to help focus their faith. While Jesus
is mentioned, the main focus of Christianity becomes social action. As well, providing what the sheep like by meeting their
spiritual consumer needs also plays a role.
Further, since preaching the gospel
of Christ requires telling sinners they will
end up in hell unless they accept a Savior, Emerging Church promoters often
look for ways to make Christianity more
acceptable and appealing. Of course not
all Emerging Church leaders have ignored the gospel that we find in the Scriptures. If this were the case those who
still had some discernment would detect
where the Emerging Church movement is
headed. Instead, the deviations from the
true gospel are more subtle. Rob Bell, who many pastors now are
emulating, suggests that people who witness to people about sin and the reality
of hell are “bull horn” Christians. “Bull
horn” people are not “cool” now that we
are in the postmodern era. Instead Bell
suggests “for a mind-blowing introduction
to emergence theory and divine creativity,
set aside three months and read Ken Wilber’s A Brief History of Everything.” [6]
Ken Wilber is a New Age guru who
promotes an Eastern religious worldview that everything is God and that
mankind is in the process of evolving
to a higher level of consciousness. [7]
Another Emerging Church view is the
idea that it is necessary to develop a global
community of faith. [8] This idea is based
on the view that truth can be found in other
faiths, other than faith that is based on the
Bible. For example, one emerging leader I
know requires that members of his church
attend Buddhist meetings to learn about
Buddhist beliefs that have the potential
to enrich the “Christian” experience. [9]
Speaking of Buddhist experiences,
monastic disciplines borrowed from Buddhism are becoming very popular as
Emerging Church promoters like Richard Foster,[10] Tony Campollo [11] and
Tony Jones [12] promote contemplative
prayer, centering prayer and the “Jesus
prayer”. The idea that spiritual seekers can
get into a “silent state” or a “thin state”
in order to “hear God’s voice” is now being promoted as “getting closer to God”.
All of this sounds very spiritual, of
course. However, it is important to understand where these ideas come from. You will
find that the Scriptures are silent about using
mantras, focusing on objects on the wall,
performing breathing exercises, and using
beads to count repetitive prayers, in order
to get closer to Jesus and be more spiritual.
Richard Foster openly acknowledges
that Thomas Merton, a Catholic Trappist
monk, was very helpful in introducing
contemplative practices to the Christians
of his day. As Foster stated in a book he
wrote: Thomas Merton has perhaps done
more than any other twentieth-century
figure to make the life of prayer widely
known and understood... His interest
in contemplation led him to investigate prayer forms in Eastern religion.
Zen masters from Asia regarded him
as the preeminent authority on their
kind of prayer in the United States. [13]
So what should this tell a discerning
person? It seems that getting “closer to Jesus” through embracing Emerging Church
practices should be a good thing. It seems
right! What possibly could be wrong with
getting closer to Jesus? But what if in one’s
zeal to get “closer to Jesus”, the person was
actually deceived and contacted a demon?
Stop and think about this for a moment! Instead of “getting closer” to Jesus, the sincere Jesus-seeking person
could contact “another Jesus”. Thus, what
was thought to be right would be wrong!

OR
by Roger Oakland
The last days, according to the Bible,
will be characterized by a multitude of
false teachers and false prophets. How
do we know this? Jesus said it would be
that way! So if false teachers promote
their views publicly, how should they
be confronted? Privately or publicly?
Faith Undone has created quite a controversy. The book was not written with
haste. In order to do the research I read
over 60 books by Emerging Church and
Purpose Driven church leaders over a time
period of three years. I have carefully examined the statements made by emerging
proponents and have come to the conclusion that biblical Christianity is under attack. Many of the authors of these books
are pastors who are shepherds with flocks.
Critics of Faith Undone usually have
several things in common. First, they refuse to read the book and examine the
message and warning that is given with
regard to the Emerging Church. They
say they already know what the book is
about without reading it because they
know that I am a “counter-cult-kook”.
They say that twenty-first century Christians should be known only for what they
are for, and not for what they are against.
Such a comment dismays me, especially in light of the ministry that Jesus
18

had while He was here on planet earth.
It seems to me Jesus was quite vocal
about exposing deception. The same is
true with the apostle Paul. What about
Peter and Jude? Did they not warn about
wolves that had disguised themselves as
shepherds and were destroying the flock?
There are shepherds today who make
public statements in books they have
written or the messages they have given. These statements contradict or oppose the Word of God. My critics ask
me, “Have you gone to these brothers
privately and discussed your concerns
with them privately before writing about
them publicly according to Matthew 18?”
Interesting question isn’t it? But is this
what is required when unbiblical statements are made publicly? Did Paul go to
his critics who promoted heretical nonsense
in a public forum? When Jude wrote his
letter, is that what he did? Jude stated that
“certain men had crept in.” He said they
were dangerous. He was warning the sheep
in a letter like every watchman should.
Further, it seems to me that those who
told me I should go to people personally
before writing about them publicly do
not follow their own advice. Recently, a
group of pastors made a personal attack
against me in a secret pastors’ discussion
group. The interchange at this gathering is
supposed to be kept confidential. I only
found out what they were saying about
me when the referee of the group contacted me and said he had to shut down
the discussion because it got out of control.
Not everyone is called to be a watchman. However, some are. Do you remember Jeremiah in the Old Testament? God
called him to tell the children of Israel the
truth. The children of Israel did not want to
hear the truth. The people hated Jeremiah.
The people devised plans against Jeremiah.
Does that make Jeremiah a bad guy because
he was telling people what God had said?
Today, as in the past, when a watchman
warns what is ahead, the people don’t want
to hear it. They want to shoot the watchman
or destroy the watchman with their words.
God’s Word should be our standard for
truth. Check it out!

The Emerging Church Revival or Return To
Darkness By Roger Oakland
A trend is sweeping the world
that promises to change the way
Christianity will be presented in
the twenty-first century. “ The
Emerging Church” endeavors
to attract unbelievers to Christ
by providing these experiences.
Many Pastors and church leaders
are weaving together elements
from different religious traditions. Emergent church leaders
say that in order to go ahead, we
must go back in time and reintroduce mystical techniques that include the introduction of candles,
incense, icons, statues, prayer
stations and the sacraments.

John
t is a good thing to pray for people
to be healed. We are told to ask
and it’s a wonderful thing to see your
prayer answered by God. It matters not
if one is a ministry, or an individual or
a church that would see this take place.
Some of the names that stand out as
healers are Smith Wigglesworth, William
Branham and John Lake. To prove much
of what they did is sometimes like looking
for a quarter in a fog. The stories of these
men are blurred between truth and fiction.
These men are considered to be in their
own category of “doing greater works”.
We find men such as Kenneth Copeland,
Roberts Lairdon, Mike Bickle and many
others refer to John Lake as a prime example of exhibiting miraculous healing
power, and the stories seem to be never
ending. Lake is held in high esteem, as
if he is not tainted by any false teaching
or practice. But his past reveals otherwise.
He is used as an example of modern Pentecostal power and referred to, much like
William Branham and other (Pentecostal
healers) are, despite the apparent controversies on certain points of false teaching.
Many have a romantic view of these
healers, especially John Lake. Lake is
called by some the most powerful healing evangelist of all time, which seems to
be a title that should not be given to any
man. The Healing Room ministry is based
on the teachings of John G. Lake. When
tested you will find much of it is NOT
based on the Word of God but a man’s
wrong interpretation of the word of God.
Lake was born in Canada March 8,
1870. When he was 16 he moved to the US.
He came to faith at a Salvation Army meeting that same year. It is said that he received
understanding on healing from an American Indian (John Lake Ministries–www.
jglm2.atomicshops.com/whoisjglm.html) .
We are told that eight of his 16 brothers
and sisters died of various diseases. Lake
was introduced to John Alexander Dowie’s ministry in 1898. It is claimed that he
experienced his own miraculous healing
of his childhood rheumatoid arthritis, and
saw his sister’s cancer and brother’s blood
disease cured, under the ministry of Dowie.
We read that he wanted to bring his
Lake
and
the
sister who was dying to Dowie’s Healing
Home in Chicago but it was late, so he
telegraphed Dowie pleading for prayer.
Dowie telegraphed back: “Hold on to
God. I am praying. She will live.” That
statement caused Lake to wage a spiritual
attack on the power of death to not take
another loved one–and we are told within
the hour his sister was completely healed.
Unfortunately there is more than one
story on his first wife’s illness being healed.
We are told Lake’s wife was healed through
Dowie’s prayer of faith. This seems to
have happened years before he met Dowie.
Yet we are told in another story, His
new wife also became sick and was on the
verge of dying (April 28, 1898) and he
stood his ground and would not allow it.
His wife Jennie battled for breath in her
final hours when Lake finally put his foot
down. He would not tolerate the enemy
stealing away the mother of his children.
He determined to believe God’s Word as it
was revealed to him for her healing and at
9:30 a.m. he contended for her life in prayer
upon which she rose up healed, praising
the Lord in a loud voice. News then spread
of Jennie’s healing, and Lake was sought
after for his healing anointing.
This idea of the Devil claiming his wife
is problematic in that believers are under
the sovereign care of Jesus. It is He who
has the keys of death and hell. No believer
will die unless God Himself allows it. The
book of Job gives us insight on how God
may allow the devil to afflict us but it is only
by His permission. The Devil is not running around doing whatever he wants; his
power and ability must answer to God first.
Lake then began a study of divine
healing. Lake moved his family to Zion,
IL, in 1901, “For the purpose of studying
divine healing so that I can learn it and
teach it.” Lake learned healing under Alexander Dowie.
Lake’s involvement with Alexander
Dowie is problematic. Dowie’s focus on
healing was more than extreme; he insisted that those who prayed to be healed
must relinquish their medication for faith.
Lake also believed, “...one could only be
healed in Dr. Dowie’s Healing Home.”
http://www.christianhistory.org/lake.html
Healing
Rooms
Christian Historical Preservation Society. John G. Lake: A Man of Healing.
Most downplay the sheer eccentric
ministry of Dowie, who had many doctrinal abnormalities. He founded a large
commune called Zion City in the North
Chicago area in the early 1900s (the real
Zion is in Israel). Zion city was to be the
“New Jerusalem” and would be the capital
of the world. Dowie stated: “the starting
point of the restoration, the city from which
God would personally direct the affairs of
his kingdom.” The Prophet and His Profits, The Century Magazine, Oct. 1902, p.
941). While Lake was there he was learning
from him and became an elder in his Zion
Catholic Apostolic church. Dowie was a
self-proclaimed healer, apostle and prophet who said he came in the spirit of Elijah.
In 1901 he even claimed he was Elijah, the
restorer. Three years later he told his 1,000
followers in his city to expect the full restoration of apostolic Christianity (much
like Peter Wagner’s group today). He believed he was chosen as the first apostle of
the end-times church. Dowie went further
off theologically as the years went by and
established “Divine Healing Homes.” He
invited the sick and crippled to come for
healing as his private guests. They were
to renounce doctors, medication, alcohol, etc. He explained to them that all illness was the work of the devil; their cure
would come from God only by his request.
In 1905 Dowie suffered a stroke which
changed everything. By 1906 both his health
and following declined, he lost his community of Zion; some say there was financial mismanagement. Dowie died in 1907.
The influence of Dowie on Lake’s ministry is evident. Because of this, and other
held teachings, the amount of miraculous
acts of this man are brought into question.
Lake had sought God hard for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and tells us that after
nine months the power of God come upon
him (1907). This is a wrong Pentecostal
view, we are all baptized in the Spirit when
we are saved, and we receive subsequent
fillings. The Holy Spirit can come upon us
and often does as we step out in faith in service to the Lord. It is not something we must
strive for. God promises to give his Holy

Spirit to those who obey him (Acts 5:32).
Here is how Lake describes it: “I
prayed for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
for nine months, and if a man ever prayed
honestly, and sincerely in the faith, I did.
Finally one day I was ready to throw
up my hands, and quit. I said, ‘Lord, it
may be for others, but it is not for me.
You just cannot give it to me.’ I did not
blame God. One night a gentleman by the
name of Pierce said, ‘Mr. Lake, I have
been wishing for a long time you would
come over, and we would spend a night in
prayer together. We have been praying for
the Baptism for a whole year and there is
not one of us baptized yet. Brother, I do
not believe that you are either, so we can
pray for one another.” I was so hungry
to pray, so I went with all intentions of
praying for the rest, but I had not been
praying five minutes until the light of
God began to shine around me, I found
myself in a center of an arc of light ten
feet in diameter, the whitest light in all the
universe. So white! Oh how it spoke of
purity. The remembrance of that whiteness, that wonderful whiteness, has been
the ideal that has stood before my soul, of
the purity of the nature of God ever since.”
“Then a Voice began to talk to me out
of that light. There was no form. And the
Voice began to remind me of this incident, and that incident of disobedience
to my parents, from a child; of my obstinacy, and dozens of instances when God
brought me up to the line of absolutely
putting my body, soul, and spirit upon the
altar forever” (pp. 16-20 ‘John G. Lake
- Apostle to Africa’, by Gordon Lindsay).
Lake finally had a spiritual experience
that CHANGED HIS LIFE. He called it
the baptism of the Spirit. But no one in the
Bible describes it in these details. In fact,
we are warned of Satan coming as an angel
of light, and his ministers as ministers of
righteousness. There are too many stories
of this same light being a different revelation to Joseph Smith and others. What is
uncanny is the similarity of Williams Branham’s experience with a light. It seems that
there is a consistency with men who exhibit
these great supernatural powers–this light.
“I found that my life began to manifest
in the varied range of the gifts of the Spirit.
I spoke in tongues by the power of God,
and God flowed through me with a new
force. Healings were of a more powerful
order. Oh, God lived in me; God manifested in me; God spoke through me. My spirit was energized. I had a new comprehension of God’s will, a new discernment of
spirit, and a new revelation of God in me.”
When visiting a sick lady at her
home: The Spirit said, ‘I have heard your
prayers, I have seen your tears. You are

now Baptized in the Holy Spirit.’ Then
currents of power began to rush through
my being from the crown of my head to
the soles of my feet. The shocks of power
increased in rapidity, and voltage. As these
currents of power would pass through
me, they seemed to come upon my head,
rush through my body, and through my
feet into the floor... (ibid. pp. 16-20).
This description is similar when one
experiences the Kundalini force through
yoga and meditation. These same descriptions are found with those who have been
attending meetings of Toronto, Brownsville and Rodney Howard-Browne’s (testimony) meetings.
“Then a new wonder manifested. My
nature became so sensitized, that I could
lay hands on any man, or woman, and
tell what organ was diseased, and to what
extent, and all about it. I tested it. I went
into hospitals where physicians could not
diagnose a case, touched a patient, and
instantly I knew the organ that was diseased, its extent, condition, and location.”
Powers like these have to be questioned
especially when we know the belief system
Lake was trained under and what he himself
believed (we will get to this). Lake’s life is
surrounded with grandiose claims of “beyond apostolic miracles” and this is where it
is hard to distinguish the truth from fiction.
Lake decided to go to Africa. Some
say he had no visible means of support,
and was miraculously provided every step
of the way. Others say Lake prospered in
the business world as a real estate agent
and later as an insurance executive and
acquired much wealth (he had a wage
of $50,000 a year that he left behind).
As with a number of events in his life,
we have at least two different stories.
Vinson Synan writes of John G. Lake’s
Pentecostal theology being brought too
Africa: “In April 1908, he led a large
missionary party to Johannesburg where
he began to spread the Pentecostal message throughout the nation.” Another
account states he went with only four
other workers and his family. These disputed facts are not isolated incidences.
His first wife (Jennie) died six months
after they arrived in South Africa in 1908.
Lake’s wife is said to have died of overwork and malnutrition, which seems to fit
the story of their not being always provided
with sufficient food to live on. He stayed
there for four more years raising 7 children
with his sisters’ help. We are told in 1912,
that after four years of ministry in Africa
he had produced 1,250 preachers, 625
congregations (some say 700), and 100,000
converts. “Miracles and healings such as
had not been seen in almost 2000 years became almost commonplace” (http://www.
jglm2.atomicshops.com/whoisjglm.html).
That’s quite a feat in 4 years-that would
be a preacher a day under him and a new
congregation every two days. Well if you
want to believe this you can. I wonder what
kind of quality preachers these would be.
Where did he find all these people? When
Paul taught the Ephesians he went through
the whole counsel of God, he was there with
them for three years to teach them correctly. Anyone who has trained people for pastoral ministry or planted churches knows
it is not something done quickly. All we
need to do is look at the New Testament examples to see that churches were not made
quickly and in great numbers. With Lake,
again, we have what I believe is a greater
exaggeration, not a greater work. There are
too many different stories of what transpired and the numbers are not consistent
After Lake’s first wife died, he was
contacted by a woman with a bad eye.
Lake described the “Spirit” coming over
her while she was sitting in a chair and:
“She arose from her chair, her eyes
quite shut, and came in my direction. I
got up and moved my chair. She walked
right around and came to me. She slipped
her fingers down, gave me a little chuck
just like my late wife would have done,
and said, „Jack, my Jack, God is with
you all the time. Go right on. But my
baby, my Teddy, I am so lonesome for
him, but you pray so hard, you pray so
hard” (John G. Lake: His Life His Sermons, His Boldness of Faith, Kenneth
Copeland
Publications, 1995, p.133)
Lake believed this to be his deceased
wife talking to him. This experience was
like channeling today. Lake did not seem
to believe the Word said contacting the
dead is wrong. He excused it by saying,
“Listen, it is not dragging spirits up, and
it isn’t dragging some spirits down. There
is nothing about calling spirits down
from God in the Word; only about calling them up out of the depths” (ibid.)
“Now I want you to fix this in your
mind. The blood washed always go
there [3rd heaven] and if you ever talk
to anyone that is over there you will go
to them. They are not going to leave the
throne, but they will say, Brother, come
up here’. That is the only way you will
ever communicate with them” (ibid.)
God forbids contact with the dead
or using mediums (Deut. 18:9, 10, 11,
12) but Lake ignored the warnings and
transgressed into an area that is harmful to one’s relationship with Christ.
When Lake returned to the US in Feb.
1913, he remarried 6 months later Florence
Switzer and fathered five more children.
He then began traveling. In 1914 he went to
England and attended a meeting with Pen-
Continued: Swimming in Lade Exaggeration
tecostal leaders. While in England, Lake
founded the International Apostolic Council. Upon his return to the US, he moved to
Spokane, WA. (1914). After six months he
opened his own building called “Lake’s Divine Healing Rooms”. He began training
“Divine Healing Technicians” through
his organization, The Divine Healing Institute. From Feb. 1915 until May 1920,
it is claimed that Lake and his Divine
Healing Technicians saw over 100,000
confirmed healings. From there he went
to various other cities traveling down the
California coast duplicating what is now
called Healing Rooms. We can see why he
is in the category of doing greater works.
John G. Lake’s “ministry” consisted of
a mixture. He promoted New Age/ Eastern
philosophies, contact with the dead (called
necromancy), out of body experiences,
church in dominionism (known as Latter Rain) and word faith teaching that we
can all become a god. You could honestly
say he was the Benny Hinn of his time.
The Dominion Theology belief was
the basis for this ministry, (Latter RainKingdom Now, and Manifested Sons
of God.) This belief system teaches
the church will be perfected through
the apostles and prophets, the church
will then affect the world, then Jesus
returns to a pure and powerful bride.
The “dominion” is to be exercised
over all things, people, sickness and even
Satan. Lake claimed that sin was the
cause of sickness and anyone who went
to a doctor was like a heathen and yet
he suffered from colds, a nervous breakdown and even died from a stroke in 1935.
“Lake believed his generation missed
the mark by not realizing the true definition
of apostolic ministry. Some attempted to
build an apostolic church around the doctrine and manifestation of healing power.
Others attempted to establish the apostolic church around the restoration of the
gifts and speaking in tongues, while some
attempted to create and establish the apostolic order around the doctrine of holiness.
This next explanation should explain
exactly what Lake’s vision was about
and how it coincides with the apostolic
prophetic movement that is currently
in the church and trying to mislead her.
“True apostolic ministry is a fulfillment of John 14:12, with the Holy Spirit
performing the same works through
the church that He did through the life
and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is a ministry of perfection coming to the church that will prepare
her for the return of the Bridegroom.”
(you can see this same teaching in the
third wave groups and prophetic ministries).
“He taught in Joel 2:25, the Lord makes
a wonderful promise to restore all that
the palmer worm, cankerworm, caterpillar, and the locust have destroyed (KJV).
These four stages of a maturing locust
are used to prophetically symbolize the
way that the spirit of the antichrist would
attack the church. “The Lord’s promise
to restore the apostolic church began
through the ministry of Martin Luther
and has now matured to a level so that
this generation can expect the complete
restoration of biblical apostolic ministry.
“When the day of Pentecost had fully
come, the Holy Spirit descended upon them
and watered the seed within their hearts,
producing the life of Christ and the apostolic church. This same process must be realized in this church age as well.” (WebsiteIFM International fellowship of ministries
This is pure Latter Rain speech, and
one who has followed the disappointments of prophet hopefuls that spoke the
same such as Paul Cain and the Kansas
group of prophets, know this is not good.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who
believes in Me, the works that I do he will
do also; and greater works than these
he will do, because I go to My Father”
Lake’s rendition of John 14:12,
if true, left out 99.99 percent of the
church throughout all time except
for the elite chosen ones, like Him.
According to Lake, “the truest definition of the apostolic church could
be expressed in the awesome and reverential experience known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit.” While Lake
rightly pointed out that the baptism was not
just a gift of God, but God Himself, teaching that one did not become a dwelling
place of God until they had this experience
is contrary to Scripture (see Eph.1:13).
This is why Paul asked a certain group in
Acts 19:2 if they had received the Holy
Spirit when they believed. Because that is
when we are baptized by the Holy Spirit
(See also Eph. 4:30; Acts 10:47, 15:8).
While Lake was feverishly burning up
for more of God (especially an experience
through power), God asks that we give
more of ourselves to Him so that the life
of Christ that is already implanted in every
believer can have its way. In other words
we need to die to self, our desires, our ways.
Lake is known as a man who walked in
the revelation of “God in man.” He believed
that a Spirit-filled Christian should see the
same type of ministry Jesus did while he
was on earth, and that this could only be
accomplished by seeing themselves as God
saw them. His belief was that Christians are
to become “gods.” Lake, a former Methodist, believed in entire sanctification. Along
with salvation, was a complete deliverance
from illness. Quotes on Lake from Des-
Voignes research are quite shocking, considering the respect people have of him.
“It is not honoring to Jesus Christ
that sickness should possess us. We do
not want disease. We want to be gods.
Jesus said, ‘I said ye are gods’ (John
10:34). It is with the attitude of gods in
the world that Jesus wants the Christian to live” (John G. Lake: His Life His
Sermons, His Boldness of Faith, Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1995, p. 13).
“I said ye are gods” is a Scripture that
is often taken out of context with those who
are not biblically astute. Jesus wants us to
have an attitude of a servant, not a God
(Phil.2 tells us this is the mind of Christ).
No apostle ever taught the church that we
are gods. But this is repeated today by
Mormons, occultists and word faith cultists. It is far more than just a mistake, it is
what the Bible calls heresy. Ps.82 and John
10:34 need to be examined it in their context. Jesus was scolding them, not affirming
their nature. This teaching happens to distort man’s nature and relationship to God.
Anyone who teaches this should not be accepted as a good teacher of God’s word because it does not accurately represent what
God has said about humanity and misrepresents the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Lake said: “The power of God, the
Holy Ghost, is the Spirit of Dominion.
It makes one a god.” (Ibid. p. 13) God
does not see us as gods or an incarnation. Neither do we see the apostles exercising dominion as Lake taught.
Lake: “I want you to hear what Jesus
said about himself. God was in Christ,
wasn’t He? An incarnation. God is in
you, an incarnation, if you were born
again. You are incarnate.” (ibid. p. 196).
Incarnate from what? We did not exist as God before we were born which
is what this means with Jesus. Lake
did not understand the incarnation.
Lake: “For God’s purpose through
Jesus Christ is to deify the nature of men
and thus forever make them like unto, ...
Thus he becomes the Son of god, a Savior and redeemer forever” (Ibid. p. 304).
Can man become an only begotten son,
which makes him the savior? Again Lake
exhibited a poor and heretical understanding of the core teachings of God and man.
“I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God” (Isaiah 45:5-7)
“And there is no other God besides Me, a
righteous God and a Savior; there is none
except Me. Turn to Me and be saved,
all the ends of the earth; for I am God,
and there is no other.”(Isaiah 45:21-22).
Lake is mentioned as one of Kenneth
Copeland’s favorite mentors (besides his
discipler Kenneth Hagin). Copeland states
of Lake:

“The thing that was forfeited in the
garden was regained. God gave him
[Adam] dominion over the works of His
hand. God made him His understudy,
His king to rule over everything that had
life. Man was master. Man lived in the
realm of god. He lived on terms of equality with God. God was a faith God. All
God had to do was to believe that the sun
was, and the sun was. All God had to
do was to believe that the planets would
be, and they were. Man belonged to
God’s class of being - a faith man, And
he lived in the creative realm of God, “
(“John G. Lake, “ Kenneth Copeland Publications, Fort Worth, Texas 1994, p. 66.)
No one has the ability to become a god,
for the simple reason that God is not created: as humans we are created. Adam was
never to become a god, nor was he made
an equal of God. There is no such thing
as a creative realm of God, for God transcends anything he has created and is not
limited by it. Neither do we as believers
regain a rulership over creation. God did
not create by faith, God did not create because of His faith. God created by the word
of His power, not by faith in His belief.
Deify man’s nature to make us the
son of God? How is this possible when
the Bible speaks of the ONLY begotten son of God as God himself? What
kind of teaching is this? Lake teaching
that humans attain godhood corrupts everything else. In fact how can the God
of truth honor such a lie with his power?
When you have such distorted beliefs of the Bible it affects how you
look at other religions. What did
Lake say about Eastern philosophies:
“Many of the ancient philosophies
have marvelous light. One of the Indian
philosophies, Bhagavad, were written
five hundred years before Isaiah. In it
they predicted the coming of a Son of
God, a Redeemer, who was to come and
redeem mankind.” Buddha presented
his philosophy five hundred years before
Jesus. Pythagoras wrote four thousand
years before Christ. In each one you
will find many of the teachings of Jesus.”
“The teachings of Jesus were not
unique in that they were all new. They
were new because they contained something that none of the rest possessed. It
was the divine content in the word of Jesus Christ that gave his teachings their
distinguishing feature from the other philosophies” (John G. Lake: His Life His
Sermons, His Boldness of Faith, Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1995, p.304)
Can false religions have a “marvelous light”? As Christians, do we not believe light is found only in God’s word,
Jesus being the true light? How can a
22

book teach anything about God if the
people who wrote do not know God? The
Bhagavad Gita is Hindu teaching; it does
not predict a Jewish Messiah. Buddha did
not teach about God. You will find none
of the teachings of Jesus in their books.
What you may find is what is left in man’s
conscience of right and wrong according
to Romans 1:21-32. Can anyone come to
know Jesus Christ through these other religions’ teachings? These books should
not be used or spoken of as valid truth.
If what Lake stated is true, then why did
Jesus say, “All who ever came before Me
are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did
not hear them. I am the door. If anyone
enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go
in and out and find pasture” (John 10:8-9).
Lake had much to say about being
consumed with God and his presence,
but this clearly is not the mind of Christ.
We are told: “And do not be conformed to this world ...” (Rom. 12:2)
Deut. 4:2: “Do not add to
what I command you”
which is what is written
in the Bible. Paul writes
the same in 1 Cor.
4:6: “...that you may learn
from us the meaning of
the saying, ‘Do not go beyond what is written.’”
Is this what the baptism of the Spirit did
to Lake? We must question teaching these
concepts that would deny the Bible as the
only Word of God as complete, while offering other religions as having similar teaching. This is what we call inter-spirituality.

The Annapolis Conference:
As He promised Abraham & The Patriarchs,
God will indeed either bless or curse those
who either bless or curse Abraham’s descendents – his physical descendents Israel & The
Jews, and his spiritual descendents, regenerate
believers.
At present, the British & American governments wink the eye and turn a blind eye
to the proven intolerance and persecution of
Christians by the Saudi Arabian Wahabists
and by virtually every Islamic country in
the world, just as they ignore Saudi funding
of fundamentalist extremism which inherently engenders support for Moslem terror.
The administration of George H. W. Bush
Sr. and his Secretary of State James Baker
(the litigation defense lawyer for Saudi Arabia
against the families of September 11th victims
and council for the Saudi Moslem-led investment concern Carlyle, in which the Bush family
are investors), handed Lebanon to Iranian-linked
Syria after the Israeli withdrawal. Lebanon was
then used to attack Israel again only last year.
His son, George W. Bush Jr., and his
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (also a
crony of international oil interests) created
an Iranian armed and backed Islamic terrorist
enclave in Gaza, pressing Israel to withdraw
unilaterally for the sake of “peace”. The very
next day Hamas used Gaza to resume rocket
attacks on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. They
have also created an Iranian-backed terrorist
enclave in Southern Iraq with their policies.
Now, these “oil whore” politicians of Washington and Whitehall with Tony Blair championing the ‘road trap to war’, are pressing Israel
to make more concessions to Islamic terror.
Predicated on the lie that Abbas and his Fatah
faction (the organization of Arafat) are men of
peace, when in fact Fatah is also linked to Iran
and its Al Aqsa Brigade, which is no better or
different from Hamas. Bush has also engaged
in parlance with The Moslem Brotherhood who
has burned hundreds of churches in Egypt.
While we do not entertain conspiracy
theories, it is no secret that Bush Sr. and Son
were both “Skull and Bones” initiates and
Bush senior coined the phrase “New World Order”. His son is the first US president to call
for a second Palestinian Arab Moslem state
in addition to the one already existing demographically and geographically in Jordan.
In open defiance of God’s Word, President Bush recently announced his universalism – that all religions pray to the same god.
Bush is a liar. In the aftermath of the September 11th attacks Bush placed a Koran,
a book teaching that ‘God has no Son’ [Sura
112:1-4] in The White House to honor Islam,
issued a Ramadan Eid US postage stamp, and
holds Ramadan Banquets in the White House.

Australian Report Dec 2007
Greetings Dear Family in the Name of Our
Lord Jesus Christ,
As you will probably remember I have
been away for a considerable amount of
the last three months, firstly two trips to
New Zealand and then on the 6th of September I headed off to South Africa. This
was to enable Dave & Lyn Royle to take
a most deserved rest and long overdue
break. Primarily this was because of their
health as you will recall the were both very
ill in hospital in August & then secondly
the opportunity to go to Wales to see their
firstborn grandson Levi. In telling you this
I should probably call this the “South African Report” from an Aussie perspective.
So off I set for Johannesburg – it is
quite a few years since I have done a long
flight – the plane was full so no chance of
an upgrade or going and stretching yourself
out on a spare seat. We had to go via Sydney
(which is somewhat strange) and of course
with the Opac Summit on there the security was incredible, the bus took us from
the Domestic Airport to the International
right past President Bush’ “Air force one” I
must write him a letter as it looked grubby
and needed a paint job! Not to worry – off
we went. At some stage I fell asleep (hope
I didn’t snore) and upon waking thought I
had been asleep for many hours and that
we must almost been there when I looked
on the computer screen which said we still
had six and a half hours to go – I put my
glasses on thinking I hadn’t read it correctly but alas not so. Those six hours seemed
like 24, I was so glad when we landed.
I was met by Salvi & Di. As we left
the airport the Sun was lowering towards
the horizon – I have never ever seen
such a huge sun, it was awesome almost
like you could reach out and touch it.
Endicott – where Ebyown is located
is some 50kms from the airport, as we
drove through the suburbs with all the
security fences and barb/razor wire I
could not help but thank God that I lived
in Australia where such things are unheard of except of cause at the prisons.
Upon arrival at Ebyown (where one
stays in the car until the security gate is unlocked) in the dark I could see the lounge
curtains pulled back and here were all those
darling little black faces with huge smiles
grinning through the window. Oh what a
joy, these little darlings that I have known
via film or telephone etc since they first
went to be with Dave & Lyn were actually
there in front of me in the flesh, all cuddles and hugs. It was a dream come true.
The children went off to bed (very
late for them) and I head off to my cabin. Lyn warned me I would hear lots of
strange noises with the animals, trains
and of course the squatter camp across
the road. Not so I hit the bed and didn’t
know another thing for almost twelve
hours and in fact I have never slept as
well in my entire life as I did over there.
When I finally woke up, dressed and went
out onto the stoop (verandah to us Aussies)
there was these same little faces all waiting
for me to wake up – and thereby I started
three incredible weeks in South Africa.
I was very concerned about Lyn
& Dave as they both looked so very
unwell. Things had certainly taken a
huge toll on both of them. Please to
continue upholding them in prayer.
Whilst there the first week we had
Dr Calvin Smith (Midlands Bible College
Dean) and Jacob both preaching in different areas. Not having met Calvin before
(other than through his articles etc) I was a
little apprehensive thinking rather stupidly
“what if he asks me a bible question I cannot answer?” But just the opposite, Calvin
is a delight, lovely (if somewhat pro-pommie) sense of humour. We had some wonderful fellowship and his teaching sessions
were excellent. For our Australian readers
we are putting a few of his teachings out on
DVD & CD and along with that you will
read some very exciting news of what we
are planning with Calvin her e in Australia next year (2008) so watch out for that.
I met too for the first time Salvidore (whom you all know from his
mission reports) and Di Vincent from
New Zealand. These two wonderful people will be married by Dave on
the 24th November in South Africa.
What
exceptional
people
we
can become when we seek the Lord
on His purpose for us and we obey.
Di and I had had quite a battle royal
over Aussies and Kiwi’s and provided quite
a deal of enjoyment for those witnessing
our nonsense. What a beautiful woman she
is – so full of loving compassion and the
joy that just oozes from her is because she
has heeded the call from the Lord for her
life. I learned so much from Di and her absolute generosity to all around her. When
were over at the Squatter Camp and she
was sharing with the children I looked up
at her face and she was aglow – filled with
the joy of sharing Our Lord. It is the same
look I saw on Salvi’s face when he was out
street witnessing or singing in the home
with the mentally & physically disabled.
I am sure that the Lord will use this young
couple in missions for a long time to come.
Salvi is currently filling in preaching
at Altheia (the Church Dave planted & was
pastoring) whilst Dave has his break. He is
a most accomplished young man, plays the
guitar beautifully, speaks Zulu & Hebrew,
and writes music to name but a few things.
Dave will be marrying them on
the 24th November - we must keep
this young couple in our prayers.
Then our course there was our bubbly
& beautiful young lady in Erin (who will
in 2009 become Dave & Lyn’s daughterin-law) Erin is engaged to Aaron (Dave &
Lyn’s youngest son. What a precious young
lady and so very mature for her age, just
like Di I learnt so much from this sweet
girl. Then there is her fiancé Aaron who is
currently the cook at Ebyown (doing a great
job). Aaron is quite the athlete (loving &
playing soccer) and delights in the breaks
between cooking playing soccer with the
children and whomever else he can drag in.
I believe these two lovely young people will

make a great marriage – Praise the Lord.
Then comes Chris (Dave & Lyn’s middle son) and what an incredible young man
he is. I called him the “Ebyown Rock.”
When both Dave & Lyn were both in hospital Chris took over the whole thing (of
course with Di & Erin’s help) not only did
he keep the household going but also had
to prepare equipment & resource material
for Jacob & Calvin’s forthcoming visit.
He is so calm and nothing is too much
trouble. He is a wonder with the kids (as
are they all there) and the two little one’s
Baden & Luke just follow him around
constantly. They can’t quite get their
tongues around “Chris” and call him “Dis
or Dish” it is so cute and after dinner &
baths you usually find Baden on one knee
and Luke on the other drifting off to sleep.
Chris is coming out here in 2008
to spend time here with me learning
how things are done here but in reality I think I will be learning from him.
Actually I will be able to teach him to
spell – that is one thing I can do better!
All of these young people like everyone in Ebyown are volunteers – they
give of all their time expecting nothing
in return and at times get a little spending money from Dave (out of his pocket). The same with Salvi, Di & Erin.
They absolutely amazed me – their absolute trust in the Lord for anything they
may need – again I came away learning so much from them. Praise the Lord.
Then in the household we have Victoria (who lives on the site), Patience &
Lorraine. These tree ladies are responsible
for the cleaning, washing and ironing.
And boy is there a mountain of washing
each day. They each have their own families with Lorraine & Patience living at
the camp across the road. Victoria’s family live with her mother quite a distance
away so she only gets to see them a few
times a year. I made three lovely friends
with these ladies – they always get around
with a lovely smile on their faces. Victoria
& Patience are bits of gigglers and played
tricks on me sometimes. But with all their
work there whenever I put some washing
on the line it would be back in my room
beautifully ironed. I did appreciate it so.
Then came the children, firstly Johannes –what a strong & kind young
man is growing into. Getting so tall and
now having to wear glasses he looks
like a young Denzil Washington. And
at night when he was going to bed I
would get a beautiful big hug and a kiss.
Then we have S’phewi (which means
crocodile) he too is getting so tall and he
has a smile, which melts ones heart. Sometimes because of his illness Pehwi has problems with anger management but when
24

Dave & Lyn left for the Uk after I had been
there a few days this beautiful young man
came up to me, put his arms around me
and said “Aunty Marg, now that Mummy
& Daddy are away I am going to be your
big boy and look after you!” Bless him and
he did too, if I saw him getting agitated
I would give him that look and he would
come over and give me a hug. Bless him.
We now get to my beautiful Prudencesuch a gentle & sweet young lady) She has
this very quiet air of graciousness about
her. Nothing is ever too much for her and
she mothers and looks after all of the others especially Baden & Luke. When I think
back to how ill that little girl was when she
came to Dave & Lyn, it is a miracle to see
her today. She loves the Lord with all her
little heart and she is a joy to be around.
Almost every day I received lovely cards,
drawings or flowers. I do miss her so.
Next comes our N’Thombi – wow!
What a bundle of tomboy she is. She sparkles with laughter & mischief and most
days will be seen hanging out of trees
or chasing the boys around. But at times
she has a very sensitive side to her and
needs lots of reassurance. If I could bottle
her cheeky grin I could make a fortune.
Thombi too made me lots of lovely cards.
Some days she would have herself
into a working frenzy and all their play
clothes along with all the dolls etc would
be in the washing bowl, they would then
be put over the wire fence to dry out. Every colour of the rainbow would be strewn
over the wire. Of course one had to keep
check on the dogs, as anything loose
would be dragged off and chewed up.
Now for Carlos. Carlos the cyclone,
the charmer and at times the most frustrating – trying to get him to do anything. Carlos delights in stirring things
up – it is hard for him as he is not as big
as the other boys but not little like Baden
& Luke. He is such a little imp that you
cannot help but love him to pieces.
Then there comes our princess “Paulina “ this little miss does everything at 200
miles an hour and being without legs does
not impede her, she is off and away in her
bright pink electric wheelchair. Her little
impish face just sparkles. There is one person she has completely hoodwinked and
wind him a round her little finger – Daddy!
He is hopeless and just delights in her.
Down the chain we go to our precious
little Devon – as most of you would know
this dear little lamb has brain deficiencies and can just rock to and fro making
his own little sounds and used to be having almost constant epileptic seizures but
now due to almost round the clock attention by Lyn and new medication he only
has a rare fit and can now focus and fol-
low you with his eyes. I had a lot of time
with Devon and at times he would look
right into your eyes and it was as though
he was communicating in his own way.
Sometimes he would just laugh & laugh
and other times when I was nursing him he
would snuggle into my shoulder and just
gently stroke my arm. I would have loved
to know where his little mind was and at
night I prayed that the Lord would give
him pleasant & happy dreams. It is amazing what love can do and he has that from
everyone. It is something to behold when
little Luke or Baden just wander up to him
and give him cuddles. If it melted my heart
what must it bring to our wondrous Lord?
Now 2nd last is our little Luke – this
little man is something else. He is heart
breaking charming little man. He loves
to sing and delights in sitting with Salvi
when he is playing the guitar. I bought him
a cheap little plastic ukulele and he would
walk around a lot of the day singing “Jesus
loves me, yes I know” To see him looking
so well is an incredible joy. He and Baden
are great little mates (well most of the time)
And lastly we have our little Baden
– again a little charmer. When one
thinks of the terribly ill fellow he was
as a baby. Again his well-being as with
the others is testament to the mercy of
the Lord and loving nursing of family.
When I was there the children were all
well but that is a day-to-day thing – they
could wake up the next morning very ill.
That is the nature of their illness. So our
prayer can never become complacent.
That is all the Ebyown family but then
we have the Wells family at Bezeleel some
eleven km away. Allen & Sue have fostered
eleven wonderful kiddies. Lizzie, Wattel,
Thambo, Ernest, Ruth, Rose, Thomba,
Ben, Thoko, Vincent & Precious. I didn’t
get to have a great deal of time with them
but on the evening I was leaving they put
on a delightful musical recital. I was so
very touched. You will get to know more
of each of the children in the next issue.
These children are now very much a
family, filled with love& security (some for
the first time in their lives). They are receiving good medical treatment but the greatest
of the lot is that they are being reared in the
knowledge that Jesus is their Lord & Saviour & that He will never ever leave them.
I must share something so very special with you – each evening after dinner,
baths & medications it is time for the children to have a story and then their prayers
– imagine the scene, the children all shiny
clean in their pyjamas, their little black
hands drawn together in prayer, their eyes
closed – they sing the Lord’s prayer &
then they begin – STOP! Now as you picture these black people – listen as they all

speak with a Manchester accent – you have to hear to believe it – and the prayer begins,
“God Bless Daddy, God Bless Mummy, God Bless Sisters, God Bless
Brothers, God Bless Aunties, God Bless Uncles, God Bless Cousins,
God bless friends” – Amen
Oh and God bless baby Levi (Dave & Lyn’s new grandson). Isn’t that so precious. I know if you just close your eyes for a moment you will hear it in your mind.
Now I have told you all about the family there being brought up in the knowledge that
Christ is their Saviour
On the other side of the coin is the Squatter Camp across the road from Ebyown
– and this is another world. I will bring you a full report about these people, they way
they live and what Bethesda is doing to help them. This mission work is so vital and
we need to support it firstly by prayer and secondly financially. We need also to support
young pastors out in the mission field like one beautiful young man I met Phulami. This
young man – so in love with Jesus – he pastors a little church in Kwazuli-Natal. He is
a humble man – asks for nothing. He is studying to become a car mechanic – with very
little materials. He is tall and is as gentle as a deer that is until someone brings the Name
of His Lord into disrepute or teaches a false doctrine – then he is like a lion. When I sat
with him and we spoke of his work in reaching out to new souls for the Lord this lovely
young man was absolutely aglow. He does this with very little resource material, a little
paper, a bible and that is that. What a joy to meet this fine young man who had no yearnings for the “trappings” of western society. Praise the Lord. We are praying for funds to
be made available for a laptop computer for him to aid his study & we are sending him
a good study bible. Whilst praying for a laptop for Phulami, we are also praying for one
for Moses (who works closely with Dave). So if the Lord leads you to help – well we will
live that up to Him. But above all this these fine men& women need our prayerful support.
What did I learn from this trip – other than the obvious I learnt that unless you are truly
called of the Lord to this work such as the Royle & Wells Family and all the volunteers that
go there and help them – it is a work one would find extremely hard to sustain. I also learnt
that we are not all called to the mission field – that the Lord has plans of His own for each
of us if we are willing. But what each of us is called to is to pray for these people – some
we will never hear of or meet – not until we come together in Paradise but pray we must.
Well dear family David (USA) is eager to go to press and as usual I am running late
so I must away. I pray the Lord keeps each of you safe and well during the holiday period.
May His Peace & His Joy be the centerpiece of your family.
Shalom

The Spanish Inquisition Really
Did Occur!
In 1478 when, at the request of the
Spanish sovereigns Ferdinand and
Isabella, Pope Sixtus IV (1471-84)
issued a papal bull allowing for the
creation of the Spanish Inquisition. It
lasted until it was “abolished” in 1834,
although its most fervent activity was
during the 15th and 16th centuries. The
Spanish Inquisition is the notorious for
three reasons. First, it was more cruel
precisely because it was administered
by the secular government. Second, it
was concerned, in large part, with the
conversos. These were Jews who had
converted either under duress or out
of social convenience, and were suspected of secretly practicing the Jewish faith.
Using the Spanish Inquisition
to Attack Jews
In their search for incriminating evidence against the Jews, the authors
even enlist the support of the Spanish
Inquisition. “More than once, Jews
were accused not just of being Jews
but for slave dealing and sometimes
for that alone. The Inquisitors charged
subjects for either crime and frequently Jews were found guilty on both
counts. Slave dealing and slavery and
its connection with Judaism and Jews
was offensive to the Spanish reformers.” The Spanish Inquisition brought
about “a reign of terror throughout
Europe” which was responsible for
the impoverishment, exile, and death
of countless Jews, Muslims, and “heretical” Christians. Jews were singled
out for persecution because of their
identity as Jews. Concepts of an inquisition and inquisitorial procedure
lie deep in the roots of world history.
Inquisitions were used during the decline of the Roman Empire until the
Spanish Inquisition’s decline in the
19th century. The Inquisitions in both
Spain and Portugal were run by both
civil and church authorities in order to
root out non-believers from a nation or
religion.

Moriel
Ministries
The water of life is the Word from GOD
By Ronnie Cohen
– UPDATE
Once again Israel is feeling the pressure from the United States and the European Community concerning the “Peace Process”. It seems that even before the
meeting at Annapolis, which is supposed to take place at the end of November, the
Palestinians and the U.S. are already dictating the terms to the Israeli Government.
Pressure from Ms. Rice and the White House want to see “immediate “ results - in
other words the exact date for the giving up of territory to the 1967 lines and the creation of a Palestinian state. The feeling in Israel is that Prime Minister Olmert wants
to cheer up Pres. Bush and put him in a better light before his term of office comes
to an end. His popularity has dropped drastically because of his policy in Iraq
and by creating “peace” in the Midlle East would be just what he needs
to be remembered.
The term “Giving Back” land is annoying. How can you give back land to anyone who never really posessed it to begin with? The covenant given to Abraham
by God was not created in 1948 or 1957 - it goes back over 4000 years when God
gives his Oath to Abraham on Allon Morieh, a lone hill in the heart of Samaria.
Who really has the right to give up which was the Lord’s covenant and promise?
President Bush should know better being that he states to be a true Christian.
Bush should not be allowed to push Israel into a situation which would only bring
harm to the future of Israel. Making “peace” is not making peace with the entire
Palestinian community - remember there is still “Hamastan” to deal with in the
Gaza Strip. Israel will still be in conflict with a terrorist group which is now being
openly trained and armed my radical Islamic factions including Hezballah, Iran,
Al Qaida and Iran. If President Bush wishes to “make points” with someone he’ll
have the backing of over 70 million Evangelical Christians in the U.S. as well as
the people of Israel.
Let’s pray that the world leaders and the Israeli Government leave the fate of
the Jewish nation in the hands of God. For the Israelis it won’t be the first time
and, hopefully, not the last.
Signing out - your man at the front,
Ronnie

Hebrew for Christians
Who were the Hebrews?
By Jeff A. Benner

The first person mentioned in the
Bible as a “Hebrew” is Abraham.
“One who had escaped came and
reported this to Abram the Hebrew”
(Genesis 14:13).
Is Abraham the first Hebrew? The
Hebrew word for a “Hebrew” person is
(eevriy) and comes from the root word
(ever) which means “to cross over.”
A Hebrew is “one who has crossed
over.” The name of one of Abraham’s
ancestors was (ever - Genesis 11:16,
written as Eber in English translations). This name also comes from
the same root word making it highly
possible that Eber is the father (progenitor) of the eevriy (Hebrew) people.
The Bible is the story of God and his
covenant relationship (Hebraicly understood as crossing over from death to life)
with an ancestral line beginning with
Adam through his descendants Noah,
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jacob’s descendants who became the “nation of Israel” also known as “the Hebrews.” It is
possible that a Hebrew was one who had
“crossed over” into a covenant relationship with God, which would have begun
with Adam. When I refer to the “Ancient
Hebrews” I am referring to this ancestral
line from Adam to the Nation of Israel.

CJFM Report for November 2007
We thank God for the many positive responses to the last report, but we do not always live on the mountain top in the
bright sunshine. After sending off that report, my computer would receive, but not send emails! For two weeks we struggled
until finally some semblance of normalcy returned to our office equipment. On one day, I dropped my cell phone, the two
house phones were out of action due to a breakdown of national equipment, likewise the fax, and we had no emails, neither
incoming nor outgoing ! Hoorah for modern technology!
As I write, we are but two weeks before the “Annapolis” Peace Conference. No one is expecting any “peace breakthrough”,
and all the Arab states are demanding a total surrender of territory, return of 5 million refugees, the Jewish holy places in East
Jerusalem, (including the Wailing Wall), or no peace and a further Intifada. Hamas, however, says that if Israel does withdraw
from the West Bank, they will take it over, and then destroy Israel from two sides! If the Lord were not on our side, then would
men have long since swallowed us up! War clouds again hang heavily over the whole region, but thankfully, our God still reigns.
The work of visiting and meetings goes forward as usual, with Maarten speaking on Shabbat, and Khalil continuing his
weekly studies in basic doctrine. After the summer recess, the numbers are slowly climbing again. Khalil has also begun his
theological studies at the Nazareth College, and has to work hard to get his projects done.
We visited the two sick sisters at their invitation and after a long absence. They have sold the awful hovel in which they had
lived and which had quite a lot of ground, and exchanged it for a modern and very nice 4 roomed apartment. When we visited them
two days ago, they were both miserable and distressed, and the older sister claimed that the house was possessed. She dreams
at night that someone wants to murder her, and asked us to pray in the name of Jesus for her and the house. The other sister was
depressed and looked very ill. The whole new flat looks like a rubbish dump! We did pray for them and will return in a day or so.
Cindy is still visiting, and came to the last meeting, after a fairly long absence. She stayed for many hours chatting
with various ones, and is seeking the peace which she knows in her heart only comes from Yeshua. T his is the lady
whose son became a Jehovah’s Witness, was happily married to a fellow J.W. with two lovely children, and then died
of a heart attack. Her other son is sick and very troublesome. She says the only place where she senses any normalcy
is with the believers. Shoshana has also been very depressed, as she fell and damaged her arm again. She is now in her
mid-80’s, has heard the Gospel many times over the years, loves me, but is holding out! Maya comes regularly to all
the meetings, but understands very little, as does Arela who is happy to come, but still seems to understand little of the
Gospel. By contrast our Lebanese Miriam loves the Lord and it shines from her face. Our two Russians who were baptised earlier this year are regular in the meetings and mid week meetings and struggling to understand doctrine. Their
old mother and grandmother also comes to the Shabbat meetings, is happy, but we are not yet sure where she stands.
Miriam, our daughter has just brought out a beautiful new Hebrew children’s C.D. It has been a great success, is based
on the First and Second Comings of Yeshua, and has sold hundreds in a very short while. Meanwhile Miriam hopes to put
her first album, which was on cassette, on to a CD, as the cassette sold well in its time, but there is now a new generation of
children. Nineteen years have passed since that one. Debbie, our second daughter, is also composing, and has just recorded
two songs, so we await yet another family album. All we can say is that we hope these albums will be to the blessing and
salvation of the young and not so young, as grown-ups love them too.
Prayer Requests:
• Please pray specially for the situation in the country and the results of the upcoming “Peace Process”
• Pray also that our Jewish people may see that the only way to peace is through our Prince of Peace, and Jewish Messiah.
• Pray for those who actually come to the meetings, and come again, and still have closed ears and blind eyes.
Thank you for your prayers,
In Messiah’s love,
Ruth Nessim on behalf of the congregation

I have no concern at all as a Christian
with the Government looking into the finances of churches! Let me explain why.
Once we join with the world instead of
trusting God we have already compromised.
What I mean is once we take advantage of TAX EXEMPT Status so as to
make the money go further we have to
abide by the IRS’s rules; whereas if we
trusted God to provide and not claim TAX
EXEMPT status (even though it is a right
bestowed by the world upon ‘churches’
we open a pandora’s box. TAX EXEMPT
churches cannot speak against a candidate
without risking violating their TAX status, unless they were not TAX EXEMPT,
then they could be a private organization
and do whatever they wished WITHOUT any IRS interference. George Grant
wrote a book on this about to be TAX
EXEMPT or not and weighed the pro’s
and cons and while I am concerned over
some of his theology that book should be
a must read for every Pastor and Elder.
Dear Sir or Madame,
Greetings in Christ to you and your organization. I enclose a check as a donation
to Moriel in appreciation for you ministry.
Please use as you see best.
I’m an American working in Germany, and
every week I’ve been reading articles on
your website about the church around the
world. Your sermons by Mr. Prasch are
most informative and helpful. In particular
I appreciate how he explains the Scripture
and how he demonstrates discernment of
our times. Through his teaching I have a
better understanding of sound doctrine.
Thank you very much, and God bless.

Dear Philip:
Thank you very much for your support.
We are glad we can be used of the Lord
to equip you for these last days. So often
we hear from out critics, so this makes letters like yours a blessing to us as well as a
reminder the Lord is using us to bless the
remnant around the world, those 3000 that
Elijah was reminded of that the Lord has
kept.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
Please continue to pray for us at this is our
greatest need.

It is absolutely amazing that people
support all these losers. It just shows what
an absolute joke Christianity has become.
Michael Savage said that God was using Islam to judge the west. I thought
that was brilliant an insightful especially since he is lost. I rarely go to church
anymore but I do receive audio sermons
and there is a preacher called Paul that
is absolutely phenomenal. Well as usual
thanks for these newsletters you send.
Again we have been blessed and I don’t
allow false preaching to influence the
ministry that I am engaged with, but it’s
hard when there is so much of it on our
TV screens. The Christian church is just
not thinking & following what I would call
wide road testimonies. It is never that easy
& we are told that it is a narrow path
You’ve will have some idea the problems that I have had with some of these so
called pro claimers of the Gospel which is
no gospel at all.
I don’t want to sound aggressive,
but when I suggested that some of these
ministries were perhaps heretical I
was attacked “not physically” by leading Christian organizations in our City.
I’m glad that someone at least is going
to keep them honest, and perhaps close a
few but it’s a mighty struggle ahead of you.

Letters & Comments
I enjoy and appreciate the soundness
of truth and am testing with the Word
what i hear on Mr Prasch’s webcast. But
i have a question about his teaching on
the transference of anointing please. Mr.
Prasch says that the meaning of anointing has been misunderstood. i agree and
having come out from a toronto blessing
church, i have a question only from the
point of view that as i was listening to
the show that i remembered this scripture
1 Timothy 4 v 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed
on you through prophetic utterance with
the laying on of hands by the presbytery.
Question, i see there is also prophetic utterance given here, which i take
to mean toungues and that this situation
as the amplified renders it; is an ordination. but what gift then is being transfered
by hands here? is it not the anointing (as
toronto lot would have you believe) or
is it just a personal refrence to a gift the
Holy Spirit chose to endow and if not
the transference of anointing/gift then
what is meant and being transfered here?
Kind regards,
Michael
Dear Michael:
Is the scripture saying that the laying on of hands transfers the gift or is
this the sovereign work of the Spirit and
that the laying on of hands (ordaining)
is just an acknowledgment of what is already there? Do men give spiritual gifts?
Jacob has a teaching on this for a more
in depth study called The Anointing, available from the website. If you can’t afford
it, we would be glad to make it available for you, just send us your address.
I look forward to your response.
In Peace,
David

Dear Friends
One of the scriptures that really encourages me in
my faith comes from Romans 8:14 –
Romans 8:14 –‘For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of
slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out Abba Father. The Spirit
Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and if children heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with
Christ, if indeed we suffer with him in order that we also be glorified with Him’
Adoption is a word peculiar to Paul by
which he describes the position of the believer who has become born again by being purchased through the blood of Christ.
We were once orphans due to our estrangement from our heavenly Father caused by
our sinful nature. In fact all humanity and
nature itself is subjected to futility but
thanks to God He sent his son, not only
to save us from our sin but also to lavish
upon us the greatest privilege of all, to become sons of God and co-heirs with non
other but our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
Adoption was common in Roman society, but also if we are to read the text
through the eyes of the reader, adoption
was also known to the Jews and also ac-
tive in the early church. Adoption was used
to place a son into a family when there was
no heir. Adoption happened when tragedy
overwhelmed a family leaving relatives
destitute and adoption had privileges as
well as responsibilities. When we look at
our scripture we now get insight into the
great blessing we have by being saved. We
are placed by the father, we have great benefits and responsibilities and even though
we were outside the family of God, now
we are brought in through Christ we become as though a natural part of the family.
This also gives us encouragement
concerning our ministry with children
who were formerly homeless and fatherless and it also gives me an opportunity to put right a view of these children
that I believe is wrong. Let me explain.
I have the privilege of attending and
watching on DVD many godly conferences. The other evening I was watching one
particular speaker bringing a great message and he began to describe his perception of the work we did at Ebyown. How
we worked with aids orphans in Africa. It
suddenly struck me that people’s perception was really Victorian. Maybe a view
of fatherless kids in dormitories is held,
maybe a bit like orphan Annie. That view
could not be further from the truth, you
see like us as believers, they were once
orphans, they were once abandoned, and
they were once fatherless. But now they
have parents, they are included in the family; they are heirs with full privileges. You
see Psalm 68:5-6 still says that God is “a
Father to the fatherless” and if we have
a Father we are no longer abandoned. So
please when you think of Ebyown and our
children, don’t think of little orphan Annie or some street waif with big hungry
eyes. Think of yourself, as a child of God,
an heir and co-heir with Christ. Yes once
destitute but now part of a great family.
God Bless

As many of you know our friend
Calvin gave us a visit in September and
did a great job teaching from the word.
Calvin is also on our Ebyown board
as an advisor and he came also to look
at how the work has progressed during the last 3 years. Here is his report:
Report on My Visit to
Moriel South Africa
At the invitation of Dave Royle and
Aletheia Church, it was my privilege to
visit the mission work in Springs, South
Africa, and to teach several classes there
in September. It was great once again
to visit with my good friend Dave, Lyn,
the whole family, and Salvador, as well
as meet Dianne and Erin. It was also a
privilege to meet and spend some time
with Marge Godwin of Moriel Australia,
as well as spend a day fellowshipping
with Jacob, whose visit overlapped mine.
It has been several years since I last
visited the work there. That so much has
been achieved since then is a credit to
December 2007 • Moriel Quarterly
29
Continued: Moriel South Africa
Dave’s hard work and vision, the efforts
of his entire team, and the faithful support and assistance of friends of Moriel.
I recall very clearly the day Dave and I
looked around the current plot several
years back with a view to acquiring it for
the Lord’s work. Since then it has been totally transformed. Land has been cleared,
trees and bush felled, derelict structures
removed and new outbuildings erected,
and a vegetable patch established. There
are even several animals on the plot to assist with self-sufficiency, including geese,
chickens, and a rather bad-tempered cow.
(Actually, I believe this creature is in fact
a young bull, but Dave will have none of
it! I just pray he is right and I am wrong.)
Truly, a great deal of valuable, hard work
has transformed the plot for ministry and
the upbringing of the Ebyown children.
The number of Ebyown children has
increased markedly since I last visited.
Every child here brings their own tragic
story. Most of these orphans have HIV, and
several have other serious ailments also.
Meanwhile, many were orphaned in the
most tragic of circumstances. Consider, for
example, Carlos whose Christian mother
visited the Royles shortly before her death
so that her child could be brought up in a
Christian environment. Other stories are
similarly heartbreaking, undoubtedly scarring these young children’s minds for life.
But for the work and love of Dave, Lyn,
and Ebyown most of these children would
not have survived. But not only have they
survived, they have also thrived. During
my last trip, Prudence had only just been
taken in by Ebyown. This little girl was
traumatised, unable to speak or communicate, deeply unhappy. Yet today she is talkative (incredibly so!), outgoing, happy, full
of fun, and a completely transformed little
girl. Paulina has a whole life ahead of her
now (something inconceivable some years
back). She also has a wicked sense of humour and fun! Meanwhile, Johannes is fast
growing up into a sharp, smart young man.
Space simply does not permit me to mention every one of the children, but suffice
it to say it is indeed a blessing to see how,
through the loving, caring Christian upbringing given to these children, they have
excelled and thrived These are real lives totally transformed through the work and support of God’s people, whether Dave and his
team or others who have taken the ministry
to heart as God has seen fit. Yet far from
sitting back and patting themselves on the
back, Moriel SA continue to strive to help
yet more children in even more desperate
circumstances. Recently, they took in Deven, a child with cerebral palsy and foetal
alcohol syndrome who requires constant
attention and care. Yet the love and care he
30
December 2007 • Moriel Quarterly
is receiving is already bringing a quality of
life inconceivable just a few months ago.
Aside from Ebyown, it was a privilege to speak at Aletheia Church, to greet
old friends and make new ones. There is
also so much more I could report on, including Moriel’s Bible college work in
Tanzania, which has been instrumental in
raising up and training many men to pastor and preach the Gospel in that country, together with the weekly evangelistic work by Salvador, Di and other at the
shanty town right next to the ministry plot.
Dave and the ministry demonstrate a
clear vision and desire to work hard to see it
fulfilled. One is reminded how the Scripture
describe helping the widow and orphan in
their distress as pure and undefiled religion
(James 1:27). Their work among children
is indeed to be commended, and my prayer
is that God raise up others to support and
assist this vital ministry, both in prayer and
financially. Pray also for the team’s safety
as they go about their ministry in a country
that has an immense crime problem. (Just a
few months ago several of them were held
at gunpoint and the car they were travelling
in taken.) The ministry’s plot is adjacent to
a shanty town where there are immense
problems, so it is essential that the rest of
us uphold Dave and the others in prayer.
Aside from prayer there are other
ways in which you can help Ebyown’s and
Moriel’s ministry in South Africa, including giving some of your time to visit and
work there. But please note this is a real
missionary venture; what Dave and his
team need are hard workers prepared to
get their hands dirty in basic conditions.
Please also consider having Dave come
to your church and share with you what
God is doing in South Africa. Finally, seek
God concerning how He would have you
assist this ministry financially, whether
towards the day-to-day running costs of
clothing and feeding the children, providing new facilities, or many other needs.
Also, the team relies on an ancient van
which has now run up many, many thousands of miles transporting the children,
for evangelistic outreaches, church work,
and so on. It desperately needs replacing,
not least because its total lack of power
makes it a dangerous vehicle in a place
like South Africa, where car jackings are
rampant. So I pray God might also lay it
on someone’s heart to help in this way.
Please support this vital ministry
with your prayers and any financial help
God would have you give. It is good to
see how a ministry like Moriel, which is
so concerned with preaching the truth
of God’s work, is also heavily involved
in the practical, day-to-day aspect of
ministry and missions. It is friends of
Moriel who have made this possible.

EBYOWN
The children have had a mixed month.
The usual coughs and sniffles but one or
two concerns too. Deven has not been eating as well as he needs too. We have been
told that this is typical of his condition and
to be expected but even so its hard to see
him lose a little weight. We fear the time
may come in the future when he will have
to be tube fed and so we are working extra
hard to increase his appetite. Paulina had
some good news. The foot that has caused
us so much concern can be salvaged with
an operation. This operation would have
to be done privately because of the huge
waiting list. But once again our supporters from all over the world rallied to the
cause and we now have enough money to
go ahead with the operation. We are now
waiting for theatre time and some legal
papers to be signed and then we will be
able to give you a date for the operation.
Johannes is now the owner of new glasses.
Lyn noticed that his reading was getting a
bit behind and so we took him for tests.
He now really looks intelligent at his desk.
EBYOWN FURTHER AFIELD
We have some great news. The Lord
has prompted a supporter to send a very
generous donation that will enable us to
start work on two projects in Tanzania and
Western Kenya. Ps Norbert (Tanzania)
and Ps Moses (Kenya) have worked with
street kids and those orphaned through
aids or famine for years. It has also been
my burden to do what we can for these
children and provide not only food and
clothing but also a loving home for them.
In Tanzania application has now gone to
the local government at Arusha for 8 acres
of land for such a project and I have been
able to give Moses the go ahead to purchase land for a similar project that will
provide food as well as a training center for skills and evangelism. I have also
been able to purchase from the UK three
solar power kits for them both as well as
a kit for Phumalani who pastors in Kwazulu to enable them to light their homes
and charge batteries for domestic use.
The gift was a great encouragement to me personally but we still need
Continued: Moriel South Africa
to do so much more. If you are encouraged like me and feel a burden for these
guys and the work ahead. Here are some
of the needs and costs in US Dollars:
• Generator’s $500
• Gospel tents seating 300 $4000
• Domestic animals (Cows, sheep,
chickens) $ various
• Solar kits $400 each
I will be visiting Tanzania on the
6th of February. It would be good to
give Norbert and Moses a financial gift
as well to help support them and their
families. If these things burden you then
please contact me to place a donation.
EBYOWN WORK
Its rainy season again and the storms
have meant power outages once again.
But this will come to an end shortly as
a new generator with the capacity to
run the whole farm is being installed
thanks to the donations from supporters.
Painting of the main building is also
to be followed by waxing of the wooden
structures over the next month as long as
we can get a couple of rain free days. With
the rain comes an abundance of grass that
the guys are trying to keep on top of. We
also found out on our title deeds that we
have 7 acres instead of 5 acres. Good news
for us but bad news for the guys mowing
it. One of our men called Jan, has also
been very sick. He has lost a tremendous
amount of weight and we have supported
him with a private doctor and helped him
get to hospital. Please pray for his recovery.

newsletter but things have been rather busy
around here. Lyn and Dave returned from
the UK after their 3 weeks away so our duties in the house have now come to an end.
The time with the kids was very special.
Sadly not long after their return I got
sick again. This meant I was out of action
for another week as recovery was slow. This
was the fourth time I had been sick over the
year. I am pleased to say that my health is
improving now but I am still taking it slowly.
Over the last month we celebrated Angel’s first birthday with her mum, Promise, and the rest of the family. This was a
special time and enjoyed by all. Bethesda
brought her a hot water bottle covered
as a teddy bear and bright coloured balls
that every child around enjoyed also.
It was with great pleasure that I could
take Marg from the land of Aus over to
meet some of the kids and families we have
met on Kwazenzele. She gave a lovely gift
to the family of 7 children under 5. The
twins are growing strong as far as I know.
Unfortunately we were unable to entice
her to a game of netball...... Shame!!!!!!
Three swedish people are currently staying at Ebyown for a month,
they have come to help out with mission
work. They are lovely people, full of energy. Their help is much appreciated.
Hannah,Marie-Anne and Jonathan are
helping make up gift boxes that we are going to take over to the families and children that are in real need on Kwazenzele.
We are making bookmarks with scripture
written in Zulu and English. We were given some wonderful hand knitted jumpers
from Australia that we are giving out along
with coloured pencils, rubbers, soft toys,
toothbrushes, rooibos tea, seeds etc. This
project was done last year but on a much
larger scale however this year I have decided to give them out to individuals rather
than have a large tent gathering. This way
we can keep it personal with the people we
have already formed relationships with.
Lorraine is off on holiday from
the week of the 12 - 18th of Nov. So
Hannah,Jonathan,Sal and myself will
deliver the boxes over that week as
the following week I will be off due
to the wedding being on the 24th.
Thanks again for all the support and
prayers you have given for myself and the
families.
Prayer needs:
For Patience’s and John who work at
Ebyown and live on kwazenzele both are
unwell at present.
Give thanks for Hannah, Jonathon and
Marie-Anne for all their help.
TEACHING MATERIAL
Chris has had a very busy month
and is now becoming settled in his
work. Its always good to work to a routine and so we have decided to bring in
a delivery promise to our supporters.
From order to posting we have brought
in a 5 day promise. Send in your order
and as long as you’ve given your address
and payment received it will be in the
post with a tracking number sent to you
in 5 days. Not only that but we are giving away a free gift with every order up
to Christmas. A free book, an exposition
on the epistle of Jude and two teachings
from DR Calvin Smith and Dave Royle.
For all orders or to have a free catalogue sent to you by email contact Chris
on the email address on the header.
DAVE AND LYNS HEALTH
Things are improving health wise.
Both Lyn and Dave have had post hospital
checks now and things are in order. A new
working regeim has meant a bit more time
relaxing during the day over a coffee or
two. Dave is busy now with development
work and has stepped down as Pastor of
Aletheia. It was a struggle to accept this
but while away in the UK we both bumped
into our old Pastor Bob King and chatted with him about our health and work
load. He reminded us that we cannot do
everything and that we needed balance in
our lives between work, family and each
other. A wise old friend of our shared with
us a few years agao that God had given
us 24 hours a day and he worked out his
day by having 8 hours work, 8 hours sleep
and 8 hours family, worship and recreation. I know its difficult but maybe if we
all stuck to this we would be a little less
anxious. Anyway, your prayers are still
valued and we pray that we can be wise
with our health decisions. Thank you for
your support and love.
TEACHING
Over the coming months I will be
doing a serialization of some teachings
I am planning of putting into my second
book based on a series of sermons I did at
Aletheia in South Africa. The Title of the
book will be “A life Poured Out” and is a
study on the Apostle Paul’s dealings with
the believers in Thessalonika. The series
will not be as it will appear in the book but
is based on transcripts put together by my
son Anthony.
Chapter One: Chosen by God
If you have ever worked for the Lord
on the mission field or been involved with
any kind of evangelism, you will probably
know that you never really get to see the
fruit of your labours. You can go to a city
or a town and teach, preach and baptize,
and then moving on or back home you are
left with the last impression of the place
and a hope in your heart that those who
received the gospel will be discipled and
grow or that the seed planted in their heart
would be watered and nurtured.
This letter to the church at Thessalonica is a lovely example of how Paul
was encouraged and likely surprised by

the growth and development of a church
he had recently planted in very difficult
circumstances.
But first let me give you a picture of
the city in which Paul ministered to so we
can see the underlying situation.
Thessalonica was founded in 300 BC
as the city of Thema by Cassander and is
now called Salonica, which is in North
East Greece.
At the time of Paul’s visit, on his second missionary journey, it was one of the
most strategic cities used by God for the
development of the gospel throughout the
known world and it rated alongside places
such as Corinth and Ephesus in its commerce and trade. This meant it was visited
by thousands upon thousands of merchants,
traders, and all the services they needed
from all over the world.
Thessalonica was also placed on what
was known as the Egnation way. The Egnation way was the Roman military highway
between Italy and the east, which meant
traders between Eastern countries, who
travelled over land, could do so with relative safety. It also meant the gospel could
be spread safely too. This period of peace
and stability that enabled the gospel to be
spread easily was called the Pax Romana,
Rome’s network of roads and military outposts gave opportunity to travellers carrying the gospel of Jesus Christ
Thessalonica had a large Jewish population, the Diaspora (displacement of the
Jewish nation over the centuries) meant
that most commercial trading ports had a
synagogue and a thriving Hellenic Jewish
population.
So there was Thessalonica, centre of
trade, centre of heathen worship, large
Jewish population, rich and vibrant and the
local head quarters for the Roman occupying forces. It’s a situation Paul, Timothy
and Silas found themselves drawn to by
the call of Gods Holy Spirit.
So how precisely did Paul get involved
with Thessalonica?
As Paul was going about his ministry
he had a vision. Acts 16 v 9-10 says
9: And a vision appeared to Paul in the
night: There was a man of Macedonia
standing, beseeching him, and saying,
Come over into Macedonia, and help
us. 10: And when he had seen the vision,
straightway we sought to go forth into
Macedonia, concluding that God had
called us to preach the gospel to them.
In response their first step was Phillipi
where they met a young girl possessed by
an evil Spirit and who could tell fortunes.
We know the story of how they were arrested for freeing the girl of the spirit, thrown
into jail and of the subsequent earthquake
and conversion of the jail keeper.

The next port of call was Thessalonica,
which we can see in Acts 17.
1: Now when they had passed through
Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to
Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of
the Jews: 2: and Paul, as his custom was,
went in unto them, and for three sabbath days reasoned with them from the
Scriptures, 3: opening and alleging that it
behooved the Christ to suffer, and to rise
again from the dead; and that this Jesus,
whom, said he, I proclaim unto you, is
the Christ. 4: And some of them were
persuaded, and consorted with Paul and
Silas, and of the devout Greeks a great
multitude, and of the chief women not a
few. 5: But the Jews, being moved with
jealousy, took unto them certain vile fellows of the rabble, and gathering a crowd,
set the city on an uproar; and assaulting
the house of Jason, they sought to bring
them forth to the people. 6: And when
they found them not, they dragged Jason
and certain brethren before the rulers of
the city, crying, These that have turned the
world upside down are come hither also;
7: whom Jason hath received: and these
all act contrary to the decrees of Caesar,
saying that there is another king, one
Jesus. 8: And they troubled the multitude
and the rulers of the city, when they heard
these things. 9: And when they had taken
security from Jason and the rest, they let
them go.
Although they had a little success their
general acceptance was less favourable.
The central problem occurred when there
appeared a mob who threatened their life,
which resulted with the trio having to flee
to Berea.
To Paul the Evangelist, Thessalonica
at large had rejected the gospel message
and he and his companions had run out of
town . And we see this by Luke’s remarks
in Acts 17 v 10.
10: And the brethren immediately sent
away Paul and Silas by night unto
Beroea: who when they were come
thither went into the synagogue of the
Jews.
Paul was sad to leave Thessalonica.
His reception had been cold and ultimately
violent. He and his partners had to sneak
out at night. But later on, after all the experiences and disappointments; from the city
of Corinth, he writes, “We give thanks to
God always for all of you”. Ch1:2
What had happened? What had caused
a changed in their situation that Paul could
write “that ye became an ensample to all
that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.”?
Ch1:7
I believe that what happened is not
only an encouragement for men and
women today who maybe do work of an
evangelist but who are discouraged by
seemingly little fruit, but that it is also a
demonstration of the supernatural power
of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And if this is
you today, maybe discouraged, maybe left
apathetic, maybe feeling empty clinging
on with your finger nails to a once robust
and vibrant faith, then this message is for
you.
1 Thess: ch 1 v4 says, “knowing brethren, beloved of God, His choice of you”.
NASB
I just wonder as Paul escaped at night
and finally safe from the violent mob and
he settles down to sleep, if he says to himself “phew, what a bunch they were- cold,
unresponsive, hostile. I hope God doesn’t
call me there again.”
Humanly speaking, it’s so easy to give
up on people isn’t it. Today especially it’s
easy to get up and walk away, nobody appears to want to give account for their actions or place themselves within a mutually beneficial covenant relationship. We
live in the age of the individual. “This is
my life! I’ll do things my way and blow
the consequences”. That’s what we often
hear and unfortunately all to often in the
church. It would have been understandable if Paul had left the Thessalonians to
live lives devoid of biblical truth but I’m
so glad today that God is not like that. No
matter what Paul thought of them, or we
ourselves think of others, the Thessalonians were “beloved by God”.
The Lord saw in them something
which maybe Paul himself had not fully
discerned as he sped away at night. Within
them, waiting to be released by God, was
the capacity a few years later to be “examples to others”. Why? Because they were
Gods choice. For the word choice, Strong
has this to say:
ek-log-ay’; from (1586) ; (divine)
selection (abstract or concrete): — chosen,
election.
When I read that some years ago, amid
a whole selection of family circumstances
that threatened to overwhelm me, I understood for probably the first time the reality
that God had chosen me and I wept.
God chose me. So often we assume
that it is we who take the initiative but it
isn’t, it is God. And despite my presumptions in this area, despite the fact that I’m
a sinner, despite our vices and unholiness
we can say God chose me. Romans 5 v 8
has these lovely wordsBut God commendeth his own love to-
Continued: Moriel South Africa
ward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
But why would God choose you and
I? It doesn’t make sense, does it? Here we
are sinful, often rebellious, getting up to
all kinds of mischief and God said you are
chosen. What’s more remarkable is that
God cannot look upon sin. He’s a Holy
God who is completely set apart from all
that is sinful and yet He loved the world so
much He took the initiative, became like
us, bore all our sin upon Himself, taking
on Himself the righteous judgement of the
Father, died and rose again.
No amount of works, no amount
of good deeds, no amount of religious
thought can cleanse you or I from sin. It
has to be the demonstration of Gods love
towards us, the shedding of His sons own
blood that washes us clean.
What then does this say to us? I believe it says two things.
First of all it tells me that despite what
I may feel about myself I am very special
to God. I don’t deserve to be, none of us
do. But because of His grace he saw something in you and I worth dying for.
That has to effect the way you and I
think about ourselves, and the way you and
I think about and treat other people and especially how we relate to God. It means we
serve one another, pray with one another,
laugh and cry together, respect each other,
make each others life a joy when ever you
can. Stop any gossiping, encourage instead
of pulling down, build instead of demolish.
Treat each other warmly, gently, generously, as though they are the better person.
Secondly it tell me I know I have to
respond to God, I know that after all He
has given, He has to be responded to. God
in His mercy chose you and I. God in His
compassion sent His one and only son.
God in His generosity offers me free of
charge, eternal life with Him, if I accept
Jesus as my Lord and pick up my cross and
follow Him.
Am I to respond to that by saying; “No
Lord, I reject you value of me, I reject the
sacrifice of Jesus, I reject the cross, I desire
it my way”? Yet so many do. The people of
our towns delude themselves if they think
they can do it their way. “Unless an a man
is born again, He cannot see the kingdom
of God” says John. And today if anyone believes he can receive eternal life by works
or good deeds or spiritual brownie points
or that God is so loving that he won’t send
those who reject His free offer of salvation
into the pits of Hell, then they’re wrong.
The God of the bible is a righteous
God who hates sin.
Psalm 97 v 6, “The heavens declare
his righteousness, And all the peoples have
seen his glory.”
Isaiah 59 v 2 “but your iniquities have
separated between you and your God, and
your sins have hid his face from you, so
that he will not hear”
The God of the bible is a jealous God
who won’t share His Lordship with another.
Exodus 20:5, “Thou shalt not bow
down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for
I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth
generation of them that hate me,”
The God of the bible is a just God
who demands satisfaction for our rebellion
against HimZechariah 9 v 9, “Rejoice greatly, O
daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of
Jerusalem: behold, thy king cometh unto
thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt
the foal of an ass.”
But also the God of the bible is a merciful God, who gave us Jesus and says
through His death “I am completely satisfied, trust and follow Him and inherit eternal life as my child.
“And Jehovah passed by before him,
and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God
merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and
abundant in lovingkindness and truth,
keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin;
and that will by no means clear the guilty,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children, and upon the children’s children,
upon the third and upon the fourth generation.” Exodus 34:6-7
To the apostle Paul the Thessalonians
were nothing special but the reality was
“they were beloved by God and chosen by
Him”. This truth has many applications in
mission. I remember many years ago as a
young man being asked to share my testimony at an evening service. I was young
inexperienced but had the passion of my
first love. There were some visitors in the
congregation and so I nervously shared
of my journey to faith in Jesus. It was an
event that quickly sped to the back of my
mind. Nobody really commented on my
testimony and so I forgot my time of sharing, in fact I was a little disappointed that
nobody listening had responded in some
real way to my message.
Six or seven years later I was visiting
another church fellowship. After the service an elderly lady came and introduced
herself to me. She explained that we had
met several years earlier and that after
hearing my testimony she had decided to
follow Jesus.
We live in a world that wants instant
results and instant success. This has crept
into the church and unless hands are raised
and heads bowed at the end of a service
it is deemed unsuccessful by many. We almost apologise and pray, asking the Holy
Spirit to be the after preacher. We almost
forget that the gospel is a seed planted in
the hearts and minds of individuals and
sometimes that seed has to be nurtured and
grown. The truth is we never really know
the effects of our preaching and sharing;
this is Gods domain. Paul had the same
experience, how his heart must have lept
for joy as he remembered his struggles at
Thessalonica and now to see what the Lord
can do with a few well chosen men.

get back into local ministry again. I have
preached a couple of times and continue
to disciple a few young people. The bible
study group for adults with learning disabilities is going really well. We have recently finished a study on creation and the
ten commandments. Soon will be learning
about the feasts of Israel, which is a really
interactive study. We have an open day at
work that we are able to display the work
produced from the bible study so I hope the
gospel is shared through that to unbelievers. Unfortunately we haven’t had the opDecember 2007 • Moriel Quarterly

Moriel Kenya
Dearest Pastor,
Greetings from all the saints in western Kenya. Everybody is excited of
the developments in the ministry and
particularly what the Lord is doing.
There are so many things that have
taken place such that we are wondering if we are to give a year report
or a monthly but in summary every
month has the following activities.
(a) Board’s meetings----- in these, regional leaders from 9 regions attends with
2 other representatives. These means a
full board membership from the regions
has 27 attendees. 10 saints [including
myself the Chair man] come from the
headquarter. Their work is mainly administrative. These is a time of giving
monthly reports face the regions. We put
our efforts together in sorting out the challenges. Saints air out freely their opinions
then we fellowship and pray together.
(b) Pastors meeting. All the pastor in
the regions are supposed to attend without
fail. We mainly dwell on Spiritual affairs
of both the regions and the unity churches.
A total of 40 Pastors attend together with
the 10 administrators based at the headquarters. We fellowship and pray together
Continued: Moriel South Africa
as a family. During such meetings the Pastors freely air out their opinions and challenges facing them in their place of their
calling. Seminars/ conferences are deliberated on both the and pastors meetings.
(c) Orphans and Widows Day. There
were initially centralized but we have
since decentralized them such that they
are regional organized. The regional leaders does the co-ordination activities then
involves the 10 administrators at the head
quarters who always attend. This is a time
of close fellowship with these dear ones
addressing their emotional, Psychological and Spiritual needs in close range. We
use the opportunity to fix their material
needs e.g. food staffs, clothes, shoes etc.
Due to economize expenditure involved,
we freely involve well wishers who react freely though the challenges are still a
tall order to the ministry. A day is never
enough in these but the grace of God has
been sufficient all times. We have 400
orphans and 200 widows in all regions.
(d) Regional assemblies. These are
meetings of all the saints in a particular region.10 saints administrators always attend
in the entire region. It takes a day always.
(e) Leaders Training. Leaders training are always held at the headquarters organized by 10 administrators. It
gathers all the leaders in the churches
e.g. All Pastors, youths, secretaries,
treasures, Sunday school teachers and cell
group leaders. Its entails capacity building program and proper sensitizing of the
leadings of their responsibility particularly
sense of responsibility and ethics in stewardships. It can take 2 to 3 days training
depending on resources at disposal. These
are open to other ministries to attend. This
year beginning from February 22-27, we
had a conference over 600 leaders attending leaders training. Through the conference, we equip the saints and encouraged
them to bear fruits. It was unbelievable that
when we met in April, 14th, 2oth 2007 everybody was able to testify that saints their
churches has increased in number and spiritually edified. Just like Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:2, that the things you heard me saying in the presence of many witness, this
entrust to faithful men who will qualify to
teach others also, this what is being done.
Thanks to Almighty God.
In August, we had a historic conference, over 1800 attended. As per our record now, 11,000 people have surrendered
their lives to Christ. From Feb to date.
These are new souls in the body of Christ.
In most cases we are forced to hire a
school for such functions. These means
we are normally limited before the schools
closed. If we had a tent fully equipped
with plastic chairs/ benches a generator,
PAS and suitable transport, we would do
all these in a more smoothly manner with
incredible success.
Thank you for your tireless prayers
and financial support you always send to
western Kenya.
God bless you we look forward to see
you again.
In Jesus love,
Pastor Moses Nyongesa

herefore, since we have this ministry, as we have recieved mercy, we
do not lose heart. But we have renounced
the hidden things of shame, not walking in
craftiness nor handling the word of God
decietfully, but by manifestation of the
truth commending ourselves to every man’s
conscience in the sight of God. But even if
our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those
who are perishing, whose minds the god of
this age has blinded, who do not believe,
lest the light of the Gospel of the glory of

The latest News: This month has been
one of major vehicle trouble where all
three vehicles have been in the mechanical doctors and thus evangelism has been
stunted. However I have been able to use
the time to major on Aletheia fellowship
as I have had to do the bulk of bible teaching on Sundays and on Wednesdays. One
couple in our church, who have had a
child has seen the male partner become a
Christian lately. As he has been growing
in understanding, they have seen the importance of marraige, thus they arranged
it and got married straight away. This is
symptomatic of true discipleship in their
lives and it has been great to hear about
their attempts at evangelising work mates
and family. This has been very encouraging for myself as Di and myself will be
getting married on 24th of this month. This
will mean great changes for the both of us
and we have it in our heart for us to build
a home together. Dave and Lyn have been
to me like a second family. They opened
their home and welcomed me in like one
of their own. Thus we are looking to see
if God would open a way for us to rent a
place together, albeit it would be small.
There is another option that we could have
a place built on the site but away from the
communal area. This decision will have to
be made in the next few months so please
pray. If you feel prompted to support Di
and myself in one off or ongoing support
I have started to append my banking details at the bottom of my newsletters. If
you are outside the UK you may email me.
Next month Di and I will be combining
our newsletters and so there will be Di’s
banking details for those who are in New
Zealand. On a seperate note, we have three
Swedish people at the plot who are helping

with numerous things. One of which is to
help Dianne reach the people in the local
settlement in a project called bethesda. I
am involved in doing regular Bible Studies there although recently, due to Dianne
being quite ill activity in the settlement has
been rather slow. The Swedish people have
been helping Dianne with a project that
I ran last year of filling shoe boxes with
presents and gospel literature. Last year we
filled a thousand but this year we are only
doing about 40 - 70. The reason for this is
because we want it to be more personal,
reaching those of greatest need and building relationships with those families. Next
year I would like to drop my outreach in
Springs town centre altogether and concentrate on this settlement. This way I can
evangelise and with those who are open to
the Gospel I can do bible studies, as God
allows. There is a pastor who preaches the
truth in the area, and we would be happy
to filter people into the church he pastors
or to invite people to the meetings we have
at the plot. But at the moment I have been
thinking a lot about the wedding, just today I have been phoning and buying at the
local market as well as encouraging a dear
friend of mine in the Lord. We would also
like to wish Marg Godwin, from Moriel
Ministries a happy birthday, who is having
her birthday on the 24th of this month, the
same day as our wedding! We would have
loved to have had her attend but we know
that it isn’t possible.
Evangelism: As I have said before, the
evangelism has been stunted this month
because of vehicle trouble, but there have
been opportunities to witness non the less.
I was in a car park waiting for my friend
to get his prescription and got speaking to
an attendant who was part of the Zionist
Congregationalist Church. I asked him if
he believed the bible was true to which he
answered yes. The trouble is that Zionists
pray to ancestral spirits. I wrote a scripture
reference for him that condemns such acts.
I hope that he read it. I went handing out
tracts the other week and I got to speak
to quite a few people. One of the Swedish people, a young guy called Jonathan,
came to help. His english is not the best
so he didn’t feel comfortable doing it. He
feels it isn’t his calling but I believe that
whatever you do for the Lord, if you do it
in obedience and to the best of your ability,
the Lord is able to use it. He has chosen the
foolish things of the world to shame the
wise. But there is no pressure on him and
next time I will have him hang around me
more and to observe what I say and they
way I am with people. In many Christian
churches we have seen a mindset of relying on programs and methods to see evangelistic success. Many churches want to
do purpose driven or Alpha or many such
programs that are not solid or biblical in its
explanation of the gospel. We are big on
gimmicks but shallow on substance. I think
that Os Guiness got it right when he said
that, instead of being cultural originators,
evangelicals have tended to be cultural imitators. But in the Bible we see God using
people individually. In fact the scripture
says that the Holy Spirit distributes gifts or
graces individually as He wills. A number
of people have asked what the leaflets are
about and I like to tell people straight about
eternity, their souls, the creator, of Jesus. I
know it is different here in South Africa
than it is in the UK or other countries but I
hear the words of Paul resonate in my ears;
“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as
we have recieved mercy, we do not lose
heart. But we have renounced the hidden
things of shame, not walking in craftiness
nor handling the word of God decietfully,
but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in
the sight of God. But even if our Gospel is
veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has
blinded, who do not believe, lest the light
of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is
the image of God should shine on them.”
(2 Corinthians 4: 1 - 4) Paul knew what it
was like to seem like he wasn’t succeeding
but it didn’t change his conviction about
the way he delivered the message. He did
identify culturally with the people he was
sharing to but he was very bold and open
about Jesus and didn’t do what Soul Survivor did in 2000, where they advertised the
outreach as simply so many nights of great
music and then, once they got the people
in, listening to lots of music then share
5 minutes of a Gospel message. (On the
night I went to anyway). Paul just manifested the truth and even if it put people
off he said it was because these people had
been blinded. He didn’t share the gospel
decietfully. He didn’t pretend he wasn’t
Salvador Ung Hayworth
talking about Jesus and then sneak it in
the back door. He did it by manifestation
of truth. So when people ask what the literature is about, I tell them. Some people
won’t take and others will. I did the same in
Manchester recently when I visited the UK
and it was surprising at how many people
did take. If someone asks what it is about I
tell them. ‘About your soul, about how to
get to heaven, about Jesus, about eternity.
etc...’ One lady last week acknowledged
that she was a sinner but that God would
forgive her. People like her know that Jesus
died for sins but it doesn’t click that Jesus’
death on the cross is the basis of their forgiveness but they think that God can just
forgive them because they are sorry and
ask for it. In a court of law, sorry does not
get you off the hook. It doesn’t matter how
much good in your life you have done, the
judge just wants to know if you are guilty.
Even if you are sorry there still has to be
some kind of sentence because the law has
been broken. So repentence alone does not
bring forgiveness. There must be a basis
for that forgiveness. If there is guilt punishment must be dealt out and so now we can
understand why Jesus died on the cross,
because He took our punishment, satisfied God’s justice so that we might have a
true basis for our forgiveness without God
closing His eyes and pretending or without
Him taking a bribe of our ‘good works’.
I was able to go to Tsakane this saturday,
the first time in a long time and there was
a lady called Promise, a Zionist who knew
she was a sinner and it seemed to make
sense to her when I explained the above.
She seemed really interested in knowing
more but I will see if she went to Pastor
John’s church. There was a guy called
Zweli who I could smell a strong scent of
alcohol. He was so interested in finding out
more about the Gospel. Many people took
gospel literature donated by a guy called
Yorke, from Living Waters in Australia. I
look forward to meeting him next month as
he visits South Africa. He has promised to
bring more. This is great because it means
I can give this literature to John in Tsakane
so they can evangelise people there. It
was great seeing his zeal in witnessing at someone’s home, late on saturday.
Other news: I have finished the series that I started on James. It is great to
see how the scripture has such a unity in
its diversity. Such people who say James’
teaching contradicts Paul have scanty understanding of either letter as there are so
many contact points of agreement that are
strongly linked together. The context that
either are written from are different. Paul
deals with looking at whether a person can
be saved through observing the Mosaic
Law or whether it can only be by faith. Paul
acknowledges that from this faith comes
obedience. However James is looking at
the nature of real faith and says that a real
faith produces works, as Paul also teaches.
I have one more preaching engagement on
a sunday when I will look at Psalm 23. As
Dave has stepped down as Pastor of Aletheia I want to encourage people to see that
it doesn’t matter what has happened, God
is our shepherd, He is our pastor. This is
not to take the burden of the work off me
and Morne who are now the elders of this
group but it is to say that sometimes we
do look to a person rather than acknowledging the supremacy of the Lord. I continue on a wednesday evening to do a series on the ministries of Elijah and Elisha.
I just want to thank those people who
has contributed to my personal support.
Getting married to a New Zealander means
that I will be visiting New Zealand in
March, next year, to visit Dianne’s friends,
family and to help Di sort out some business. Without the support of those people it
would not have been possible, and neither
would the wedding. Also on an additional
note, it was commented that some people
thought that my friend Mike was near death
because I said he was going through a valley of the shadow of death. This was metaphorical. This experience of the valley of
the shadow of death also speaks of a place
where there is no light, where we are in a
state of confusion. Please pray that God
would grant him wisdom, and peace as he
seeks God concerning his life and his future.
Prayer Requests:
1. For Di and myself as we plan our wedding and that we would keep our eyes on
the Lord, that He would direct us in our future together. That we would hear His voice
and know His will concerning where we
are to live and that He would open the right
doors.
2. For Mike.
3. For our own devotion to Jesus. For that
reality to be apparent in our own lives as we
attempt to practice what the scripture tells
us in love and humility.
4. For the Royle family and kids at Ebyown
and their future.
5. For our relationship with Pastor John in
Tsakane and the door and opportunity for
more rigorous evangelism in Tsakane.

Consider these two facts:
1. The Purpose Driven Church by
Rick Warren has sold over 1 million copies in 20 languages and is a standard
textbook in hundreds of Bible Colleges.
2. Over 400,000 pastors from 162 countries have been trained under Rick Warren’s
church growth seminar material. Is it any
wonder that Warren calls his philosophy a
“stealth movement flying beneath the radar that’s changing literally thousands of
churches around the world”? Yet despite
the incredible popularity of Rick Warren
and others like him, there are numerous
serious problems with the church growth

November Newsletter.
Dear friends
As we approach the end of the year,
this newsletter allows me to gather my
thoughts regarding the year behind us and
reflect on God’s goodness to us during it.
That He has been and more. His unchanging love for us, the wonderful people He
has given us to share in the care of our children, His strength that brings us through
difficult, stressful and exhausting times, the
joy we experience at answered prayer and
the wonderful gift of each day He gives, to
fully serve Him where He has placed us.
As always the children keep us on the
run with never a dull moment. On Wednesday some of the children and I attended the
Music Star Evening concert that Lizzie and
Thabo played in. It was their final function
for the year. During the music festivals
Lizzie received numerous certificates for
both piano and recorder. She also won a
floating trophy for the U14 best wind instrument player. Lizzie has just begun to
play the flute. We are hiring the instrument
until such time as we can buy one. At the
beginning of next year she will also play
the treble recorder. Homeschooling allows
her to focus on her playing and I include it
as one of her major subjects. Both Thabo
and Ruth received certificates for their
playing and we are pleased with their progress. When Salvador comes to practice with
Lizzie for the Sunday meetings each week,
all the children join in with rousing clapping and singing. Ernest has completed his
soccer season and is looking forward to the
next one. He enjoys kicking ball with Aaron and what with the Bezaleel and Ebyown
households there is no getting away from
soccer. Rosie gladly wears her splint and
has learnt to plait cloth and tie shoe laces
with the freedom it affords her hand. Thoko continues to grow in leaps and bounds.
Her father Christopher has been diagnosed
with TB and is very ill. Please pray for
them both. Little Themba is a contented
little boy and is far less traumatized when
he goes home to his dad on weekends. As
he gets older his understanding increases
and he has become accustomed to the routine. Please pray for David, his dad. Progress on the home school front is promising, with all the children progressing well.
The children’s results from their bi-annual blood tests were good with regards
to the HIV, all obtaining undetectable viral loads and normal CD4 counts except

for Walter who has a slightly raised viral
load. Our present concern is Ruth’s high
cholesterol and tri-glyceride levels as
well as Thabo who has elevated levels as
well. Walter and Thabo’s medicine regimen has changed to a dual combination
drug Kivexa, and Stocrin which they only
take at night, consisting of 3 tablets. One
of Themba’s drugs has changed to Ziagen
due to him developing lipo-atrophy. Precious and Little Themba’s medication stay
the same. Ruth’s medication has changed
to a protease inhibitor called Reyataz to
try and reduce cholesterol and tri-glyceride levels as well as Stocrin, 3TC and Norvir. She takes 6 tablets at night only. Ruth
has just had a billirubin blood test after a
month to determine levels in her liver as
it is one of the side effects of Reyataz. Her
cholesterol and tri glyceride levels are also
being checked. We received the results today, showing no adverse reactions and a
slight lowering of her cholesterol levels.
This is good news. Walter, Thabo and Ruth
will have blood tests again after 3 months
to see their response to the new regimens.
I continue to do research on HIV, heart and
cholesterol and nutrition to try and bring
appropriate changes to the children’s diet
to better improve their health. Heart disease as a side effect is becoming more evident the longer some people are on ARV
treatment. Just about a month ago the boys
were climbing our apricot tree and Walter
fell off, ripping open the inside of his knee
on a branch. I took him to casualty at our
doctor’s rooms to be stitched. He received
internal stitches as well as 9 stitches on the
outside. He was given a tetanus shot and
antibiotics to combat infection. Walter was
very brave and after 10 days I removed
the stitches and the wound healed nicely.
The weather continues to surprise us
and has quite an impact on the children.
Soon after my last newsletter where I mentioned record rainfalls that plunged us into
a long, cold winter we had snow for the first
time since 1981. It began falling during the
night and at about 3am in the morning, Allen lifted the little ones from their beds one
by one and carried them outside to see the
snow. All the children were thrilled with
exclamations of “Wow”, “It’s Christmas”,
“It’s like Lord of the Rings” and, “It’s like
Narnia”. We telephoned Dianne at Ebyown
and had her and Erin up photographing the
snow. It was of course much more exciting for us as we don’t see snow too often. Clayton took a day off work and he,
Allen and the children built a snowman
and threw snowballs at each other. After
the start of an extremely hot spring, with
temperatures reaching high midsummer
levels the rains came. It has been wonderful with179mm in just over a month.
Everything is green and the evenings are
cool. On the 1st November, the beginning
of our summer, Benjamin came running
into the house calling me to come and see
what God had made. It was a magnificent
rainbow arching across the sky. Ben kept
exclaiming, “Thank you God, thank you
God.” We had just recently studied Noah
and the Ark and God’s promise sealed with
a rainbow, never to flood the whole earth
again. Allen has built a beautiful pond in
the garden which attracts a lot of bird life.
We have a pair of Egyptian Geese nesting
on a tree nearby. We also have frogs in the
garden and they laid their spawn in the
pond and tadpoles hatched. We have also
had silkworms progress through their life
cycle. The children had a living demonstration of the life cycle of frogs and silkworms which is a really fun way to learn.
Our hen has just hatched 14 chicks and
our duck is sitting on eggs. The children
delight in all this and it strengthens their
awe of God as they observe His creation
with its seasons and new birth about them.
Speaking of new birth, Thoko, Walter, Thabo and Ernest made a profession of faith in our Lord Jesus. It was a
very special time as Allen led them in
the sinner’s prayer and we discussed the
implications of their decision to follow
and serve God for the rest of their lives.
Lizzie, Ruth and Rose had made a commitment some time before and now all the
older children are believers. They asked
me the other day about water baptism so
we are going to instruct them concerning
it and Allen will baptize them soon. My
times of bible study with the children are
rich and it is a wonder to see the children
grow in their love and knowledge of God.
Allen and I have decided for a number of reasons to begin adoption proceedings in the new year with Walter, Thabo,
Ernest, Ruth, Rose and Benjamin. Thoko,
Themba, Precious and Little Themba have
fathers and we are unable to adopt them at
this stage. They will never the less remain
to all practical purposes like our own children. One of the reasons I’d like to share
with you is the importance for us to demonstrate to the children through our own
lives in a very finite way the commitment
Allen & Sue
our heavenly Father made to us when we
became His children. According to Romans 8:15-17 we received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out “Abba!
Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness
with our spirit that we are children of God,
and if children, heirs also, heirs of God
and fellow heirs with Christ. Also according to Romans11:17 we being a wild olive,
(gentile) were grafted in among them and
became partaker with them of the rich root
of the olive tree. (Israel). In as much as our
heavenly Father through His love for us
has covenanted fully with us, so we wish
to demonstrate our love to the children by
fully covenanting with them. When we do
this our grants will fall away and Allen has
started a small business as a service provider
for wireless internet to make up the shortfall. Please pray that he will have success.
Jowie, Mphati and Mongi have been
with us for 10 months now and have
reached a place where Jowie has been
able to come to terms with her and Mongi’s status, be well informed concerning
HIV and its implications, be consistent
with ARV treatment and find a good support group run by a medical doctor treating HIV/AIDS conditions. They are all
physically well and have consistently
been so and Jowie has reconciled with her
family and is ready to go home. We will
miss them all and we are grateful to God
for His impact on their lives and the opportunity to share the gospel with them.
Since August we’ve had some wonderful fellowship with Jacob and Calvin
from the UK when they visited Alethea
and shared God’s word with us. We’ve
also had Marg and Pam from Australia
helping out at Ebyown and it was a joy to
spend time with them. Presently Marianne,
Hannah and Jonathan are visiting Ebyown
from Sweden and they have enriched our
lives as we’ve got to know them. Each one
who has visited this year has been a blessing to us and we thank the Lord for them
all. About the middle of September Alethea
moved from our home to Ebyown on Sunday mornings. The everyday demands and
teaching the children became too stressful
with no rest on weekends as we prepared
for church. It was a blessing to serve the
Lord this way and the season for change is
timely. We continue to meet at our home on
Sunday evenings and occasional Wednesday evenings. Fellowship with believers
is a precious time and we thank the Lord
for the freedom to do so. We have all been
able to bear one another’s burdens through
prayer and encouragement during the sudden death of Val; Dave, Lyn and Aaron’s
illness, the distressing news of Christo’s
accident and the subsequent loss of his
eye, the demands we all bear in ministry
South Africa News
and the market place and the death of 3 of Allen and my personal friends in the last few
months. We’ve also shared joyful times with Aaron and Erin’s engagement and pray for
God’s blessing and direction as they return home to prepare for their wedding, Manny and
Jacqui’s marriage, Clayton’s trip to the UK in December to visit Susie and meet her family and friends and the preparation for Salvador and Dianne’s wedding on the 24th of this
month. I have the wonderful privilege of making Dianne’s dress and am hurriedly penning
this letter so she doesn’t walk down the isle with unfinished hems or pins sticking into her.
Thank you to all our faithful friends everywhere known and anonymous who have
supported us for many years and made possible what we do for our children. You bless
us more than you know and we deeply appreciate you all. May you all be encouraged by
this verse from Psalm 138: 8 (Amplified) as you continually seek the Lord for your lives.
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your loving-kindness, O lord, endure foreverForsake not the work of your own hands.
Shalom
Allen and Sue Wells.

Police said Juanita Bynum, a televangelist who has won a national following with sermons about women’s empowerment, was assaulted by her preacher husband in the parking lot of an Atlanta hotel early Wednesday.
Police say Bynum and her estranged husband, Thomas W. Weeks III, the founder of Global Destiny churches, met at Renaissance
Concourse Hotel near Atlanta’s airport to try to reconcile.
Atlanta police said Weeks was charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of terroristic threats on Thursday. Officer
Ronald Campbell said that about 4 a.m. they fought in the parking lot until a hotel bellman pulled Weeks off. Campbell say Bynum was
bruised around her neck and upper torso........ For more details about this article go to, http://morielbealertblog.blogspot.com
3) “Why I Left The Prophetic Movement”
By Andrew Strom (-Nov 3, 2004).
A report on the Kansas City ‘Whitedove’ Conference, Oct 28-30, 2004. (-Main speakers: Bob Jones, Paul Keith Davis, Bobby Conner, John Paul Jackson - plus Jim Goll and others).
It is with great sadness that I make the following report. I said last week that the ‘Whitedove’ conference in Kansas City this past
weekend would be a pivotal one. It certainly was pivotal for me personally. I wish I could say that there was deep repentance - that the
preaching was incredibly anointed and the crowd were on their faces crying before God. I wish I could say that, but I can’t. In fact, it
seemed to me that the opposite was true. The saddest thing of all is that many people probably came away from this conference saying
how “wonderful” and “uplifting” it was (-just as they always do). But I have to tell you, I was grieved to the core by it. Many parts of it
I would even describe as spiritually “sick”....... For more details about this article go to, http://morielbealertblog.blogspot.com
4) The Israeli left unmasked
WORLDNETDAILY - By Aaron Klein - June 11, 2007
JERUSALEM - Much has been said here and abroad about controversial statements made in recent weeks by a yarmulke-wearing,
prominent international leftist Jewish leader and senior activist of Israel’s “peace camp” who called on Israel to cease being a Jewish
state and instead model itself after Europe. But I think most people are missing the point......... For more details about this article go to,

CDJP241 – IS IT NOTHING TO YOU?
CDJP242 – ARE THERE ANY SIGNS?
CDJP243 – BEWARE OF THE WOLVES
CDJP244 – EZEKIEL’S SCROLL – Jesus is the Word of God. We, like Ezekiel,
are required to “eat” all of that Word. It will be sweet in our mouths, but
bitter in our stomachs. A message for those who warn against the error and
apostasy in the modern church.
CDJP245 – GIDEON’S ARMY (JUDGES 7) – Shows what happens when
God’s people are overtaken by invaders, and the kind of people
whom God will use to throw back the pagan invasion; much the same
as Eastern religion, Islam, and cults are overrunning the Protestant
world today. God is looking for Gideon’s army; he is not looking for
a large group, but a small group that is totally committed.
CDJP246 – UNDERSTANDING JUDAISM PT 1
CDJP247 – JUST AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH – Looks at the warning of Je-
sus and sees what happened in the days of Noah, with demons becoming
physically incarnate on the earth. Deals with the subject of the remarriage
of science and the occult which is taking place today, as well as what it
will mean when biogenetic engineering is combined with occult practices.
Explains how we will in some way see demonic incarnations once more in
the Last Days
CDJP248 – UNDERSTANDING THE APOSTASIA
MP3-312 – PREPARING FOR THE PERSECUTION - Deals with what the Bi-
ble says about how to prepare for the persecution of the Last Days. Based on
1 & 2 Peter, it looks at the historic experience of anti-semitism and shows
how it relates to persecution of the true church, and what the church can
learn from the history of the Jews in the Bible.
Audio recordings are in MP3 format playable on most computers and some DVD and MP3 - CD players. Power point presentations and notes are also included.
This disc contains training sessions taught by Bill McKeever, Keith
& Becky Walker, Shawn Wagner, Sandra Tanner, Joel Groat with
training and testimonies from
former LDS Christians.

Is the emerging church movement just another
passing fad, a more contemporary approach to
church, or a bunch of disillusioned young people
looking for answers? In fact, it is actually much
broader and is influencing Christianity to a significant degree. Grounded in a centuries-old mystical
approach, this movement is powerful, yet highly deceptive, and it draws its energy from practices and
experiences that are foreign to traditional evangelical Christianity. The path that the emerging church
is taking is leading right into the arms of Roman
Catholicism and ultimately to an interfaith perspective that has prophetically profound ramifications.

No Laughing Matter
by Larry Thomas
Product Number BLT001 – $10.00
The current condition of the world and the church,
most certainly, is No Laughing Matter. Yet hundreds
of thousands of people are caught up in a charismatic
craze that has been dubiously dunned the “Laughing Revival.” This latest fad has swept across North America
and Europe like a tidal wave. And in its wake are confused churches, feuding families, and deep divisions.
In No Laughing Matter, researcher and preacher Larry
Thomas puts the current craze under intense scrutiny. This
timely book clearly refutes the doctrinal deviations proffered by the proponents of this misguided movement.

The Watchman
by Larry Thomas
Product Number BLT002 – $10.00
“I have made thee a watchman... hear the word at my
mouth and give them warning...”
A decade and a half ago, God used that passage from
Ezekiel 3 to confirm His call on the life of Larry Thomas.
Since that time, Thomas has boldly proclaimed the word of
the Lord through his preaching and his writing.
The Watchman is a challenging collection of his writings from the past 15 years. In these perilous times, this book
sounds a clear alarm that will stir your passion for the presence, power, and purity of God..

Spiritual Warfare
by Larry Thomas
Product Number BLT003 – $5.00
Spiritual warfare is real.
But it is not being taken seriously because most of the warfare methods and strategies being
promoted today are not real - that
is, not biblical.
Real warfare against the
world, the flesh and the devil
has been trivialized by misinterpretations of biblical passages
and extra biblical teachings. Motivated by a desire to be “super
saints”, many modern warriors
have tried to take authority they
have not been given. And while
they lay fictionalized warfare,
Satan is making great inroads in
the church.
If you love solid biblical
answers to today’s issues, you’ll
love this new book. It will be a
handy reference in these perilous
last days.
