Our city boasts four world class resorts, relaxing spa facilities, award winning golf courses,
international tennis tournaments and many fine dining establishments. At the center is the
IW Club which is open to all with its dining, meeting facilities, desert views and friendly
atmosphere.
The Indian Wells Chamber of Commerce is unique in that we not only cater to the local
business community but also have a social membership for individuals. Our events and
mixers allow our members to not only connect business to business, but also directly with
our residents. In addition, we like to personally meet with our members’ one on one to help
them set up connections that they would like to create with other members but have not had the opportunity to do so
on a favorable basis yet.

Indian Wells is situated approximately 120 miles from Los Angeles and San Diego. Santa Barbara is some 200 miles.
Phoenix is about 250 miles and Las Vegas just over 300 miles away.
There are a number of airports serving Indian Wells’ visitors. Palm Springs International Airport is just 30 minutes away,
while Ontario and John Wayne Airport (Orange County) are approximately 90 minutes away. Los Angeles International
Airport, Burbank Airport and San Diego Airport are 2 ½ hours from Indian Wells.
Due to the vast increase in visitors attending our local events, The Jackie Cochran airport in Thermal has built fourteen
new hangars to accommodate private planes.
Cardiff Limousine & Transportation (760) 568 1403) provides service to and from all airports in the surrounding areas.
Rental cars are also available at various locations including hotels within the valley.
For those travelling by rail, Amtrak stops in Palm Springs at 100 N. Indian Canyon Drive. There is also Greyhound Bus
service to the same location.
There are ten airlines with service out of the Palm Springs International Airport with approximately two million
passengers a year. You can connect or travel directly to over 500 cities. Some of the airlines increase their schedules
during the high season of November through April.

Since hosting the BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament, Indian Wells has become globally renowned.

THE HYATT REGENCY INDIAN WELLS RESORT & SPA (below) is a sparkling oasis situated on 45 acres. Throughout the
gardens and palm trees are two 18 hole championship golf courses; tennis; workout facilities; poolside cabanas and the
AQUA SERENA SPA & SALON. There are convention and wedding facilities located on the tropical grounds. The hotel
has 530 newly renovated rooms enhanced with an advanced purification system to allow clean and hypoallergenic air.
THE AQUA SERENA SPA & SALON is operated in conjunction with a professional medical skin clinic. The spa offers body
treatments, massage; facials; makeup and all hair treatments including cuts, color and styling. All your senses will be

THE INDIAN WELLS RESORT HOTEL pays homage to the days when the original hotel was founded by Lucille Ball and Desi
Arnaz. “Frank’s Place” is the lounge where you can dine, enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres and be entertained like the old
Sinatra Days. The guestrooms were all renovated in 2010 and accommodations include a free complimentary breakfast in
the lounge. This is a great venue for meetings and banquets.
THE RENAISSANCE OF INDIAN WELLS has facilities for meetings; banquets; weddings or just family fun. You can play tennis;
go on jogging or bike trails and even relax at one of the pool’s sandy beaches. Guests have their choice of two world
renowned golf courses. THE SPA ESMERALDA offers a tempting menu of treatments like a warm cocoa butter massage or a

THE MIRAMONTE RESORT AND SPA is a Tuscan inspired hotel with lovely rooms located among citrus and olive trees. The

Sports & Leisure
The Indian Wells Tennis Garden has become globally renowned. As of today, it is the second largest tennis facility in the
world. It is the site of the annual BNP Tennis Tournament which is the fifth largest tournament in the world. You can hone
your own game by playing on one of the 20 practice courts.
Personal training is available at the Indian Wells Tennis
Garden Fitness Center for tennis players of all skills. There are wheelchair tennis clinics for all levels of players from
beginning to advanced.
THE INDIAN WELLS GOLF RESORT – is a public course with 36 holes including The Clive Clark designed Celebrity Course or
the John Fought Player’s Course. Residents can play at a discount.
THE INDIAN WELLS COUNTRY CLUB – is a private club known as “The Fun Club of the Desert.” The club offers 36 holes of
golf on the Cove Course or the Classic Course. The back-drop of the distinctive clubhouse is a lighted mountain creating
the dramatic ambience for dinners and events. Besides dining in the clubhouse, you can enjoy happy hour and dinner at
the casual “Cove Restaurant” on the first tee of the Cove Course. There are various forms of membership available.

This year, the former Bob Hope Classic is now the CareerBuilder Golf Challenge in partnership with the Clinton
Foundation PGA Tour. This will be played on two of the PGA West Courses in January of 2016.
You can watch exhibition polo matches and even play golf cart polo at the EMPIRE POLO GROUNDS in Indio. The
polo grounds encompass twelve grass polo fields; an indoor polo arena; two exercise tracks; a polo school and a
beautiful venue for events.
There are ten top hiking trails within the valley. You can hike to the peak of Mt. San Jacinto and enjoy the views.
Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and watch out for rattlesnakes and Big Horn Sheep.
There are numerous biking trails in the valley. The topography of the desert is conducive to numerous rocky and
hilly trails for the avid biker.

Arts & Entertainment
The Indian Wells Tennis Stadium hosts The Indian Wells Art
Festival, a car show and a jazz festival. Once April arrives,
the crowds gather for two notable music festivals. The first
is the Coachella Festival and the second is the Stagecoach
Country Music Festival located at the Empire Polo Club in
Indio. A third festival has arisen in the valley known as the
Splash House Festival held in August in Palm Springs. These
music festivals attract the hottest talent and attendees from
everywhere.
We also draw talent for the state-of-the-art McCallum
Theatre for the Performing Arts in Palm Desert. The theater
holds 1,125 seats and spotlights top performers from around
the globe.
The Indian Wells Theater is located on the Cal State San
Bernadino Campus on Cook Street in Palm Desert. This is
a cozy theatre with views from every seat. You can enjoy a
cabaret, a play or a Celebrity Tribute with great acoustics.
The Palm Springs Film Festival is one of the largest in the
country with an audience of close to 137,000 each January.
There are more than 200 films from some 60 countries. This
year will be the 27th year for the International Film Festival
and the 22nd year for the annual International ShortFest.
The opening gala brings stars who reside in the desert as
well as those nearby in Hollywood.

The Indian Wells’ residents are discriminating diners and
there are many selections of restaurants to choose from.
There’s a reason why THE NEST has been a success for 45
years. The cuisine is unprecedented and the piano bar and
dance floor provide an exceptional night club atmosphere.
The owners are Dodi and Kevin Henry and they continue
to keep up the high standards and ambiance that this club
has been known for.
The beautiful Santa Fe Style building aglow with
luminaries is VICKY’S OF SANTA FE. The food is American
with delicious chops, seafood and steaks. Vicky’s has a
congenial bar and a piano lounge where live Jazz concerts
are performed throughout the ten month season.
At the corner of Highway 111 and Cook in THE VILLAGE
shopping center, you’ll find the EUREKA which serves a
variety of burgers, salads, sandwiches and fish tacos with
a full bar. You can eat indoors or on the covered patio.

LAS CASUELAS QUINTA is a hacienda-style restaurant with a misted palapa patio ready-made to enjoy a South of the
Border Menu and a Margarita. This has a fun, lively bar. Go hungry because the portions are big and also very good.
MITCH’S ON EL PASEO – PRIME SEAFOOD RESTAURANT has a tantalizing menu of seafood, steak and Japanese Sushi. You’ll
enjoy the ambiance in the dining room, bar or outside on the patio.
THE INDIAN WELLS RESORT HOTEL is the home of FRANK’S PLACE which is the lounge in the lobby. They serve breakfast,
lunch and dinner with a varietal menu from pizza to seafood. In the evenings you’ll be entertained by the very talented
Frank DiSalvo. His show will take you back to the old “Rat Pack” days.
THE MIRAMONTE HOTEL – has THE GROVE ARTISAN KITCHEN. There you will find an exhibition kitchen featuring “Farm
to Table” Mediterranean Cuisine from organic produce seasoned with herbs from their organic garden. You’ll also have
“Heart Healthy” choices. The GROVE serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a beautiful indoor or outdoor setting. You can
also enjoy wine, appetizers and sandwiches in the VINEYARD LOUNGE.
Within the HYATT REGENCY is the LANTANA RESTAURANT. It’s contemporary, California Cuisine with the addition of French
and Italian items which can be enjoyed in the temperature-controlled terrace. You can watch the chefs in the open air
kitchen as they prepare items with a special twist to make them just a little more tasty. They serve breakfast, lunch and
dinner. THE OASIS POOL BAR serves snacks and refreshing drinks outside among the swaying palms. A private dining
room can also be booked as well as a convention.
THE RENAISSANCE INDIAN WELLS RESORT & SPA has an impressive Italian Restaurant named the SIROCCO PIZZA CO., but
pizza isn’t all they serve. The pastas and breads are all hand-made in-house as is most everything on the menu. Also,
you’ll find the CAVA RESTAURANT which features a selection of food for any craving. THE GLO LOUNGE AND GLO SUSHI
offers a tempting sushi menu. There is also the Café Biscotti Coffee House which serves American Cuisine.

THE VILLAGE Shopping Center in Indian Wells is a one-stop shopping experience. Located on Cook Street and Highway
111, you’ll find a blend of specialty shops and restaurants, Ralph’s Grocery Store and CVS Pharmacy.
Among the varied shops are: a dentist; chiropractor; nail salon; hair salon; mailbox store; clothing stores; hearing
aid store and a dry cleaner who does alterations. You’ll also find two beautiful home furnishing stores. Don’t miss
THE DESERT HOME AND CANDLE GALLERY for unique items that make impressive gifts. You’ll be inspired just walking
through the store and smelling the candle scents and finding artistic designed artifacts.
Be sure to stop by KITCHEN KITCHEN where you will find all kitchen utensils and cooking needs along with kitchen
gadgets you never dreamed existed. You can also take a cooking class or book a class with your friends.
THE VILLAGE houses two women’s fashion boutiques and a menswear shop. Women will love COMPLIMENTS filled with
unique, boutique clothing and accessories.

If you like outlet malls, you can go 20 minutes west on
Highway 10 to Cabazon Outlet Stores. This is a huge outlet

Indian Wells is located in the Desert Sands Unified School District. Your address determines which elementary and
middle school your children can go to. Once they are in high school, they will attend Palm Desert High or La Quinta
High depending on the address of your residence.
There are several private high schools in the valley. These include – Palm Valley School; Desert Christian Academy;
Palm Springs Christian School; The Indio Christian Academy; Oasis Prep; Calvary Christian and Xavier College Prep.
We have a four-year campus on Cook Street in Palm Desert of the California State University of San Bernadino. They
offer Bachelor Degrees; Certifications; Credentials and Graduate Programs.
Our College of the Desert is a two-year, community college offering Associate Degrees.

Indian Wells is located on 15 miles of lushly landscaped properties surrounded by beautiful mountains. The city uses
non-potable water to maintain the landscape during our recent water shortage. There are six gated- golf communities
in the city which are: The Indian Wells Country Club; Desert Horizons; Toscana Country Club; El Dorado Country Club;
The Reserve and The Vintage Club. 85% of our communities are gated with 58 Homeowners’ Associations.
As a property owner in Indian Wells, residents can play golf for a very nominal fee at the Indian Wells Golf Resort. The
Clive Clark Celebrity Course and the John Fought Players Course are both championship regulation 18 hole courses.
A 20% discount is offered in all the hotel restaurants within the city of Indian Wells. Residents receive free tickets to
the BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament and have exclusive resident parties, city-sponsored patio/holiday gatherings and

Our year-round population has increased due to the beauty, convenience, sunshine and the strong sense of community

The exclusivity of the Indian Wells “Address” is sustained by the high median sales prices of homes in the area.
The city’s central location in the valley to many of the shops, restaurants; schools and businesses adds to the
desirability of the neighborhood.
Homes that are purchased as rental properties are always in demand. The city as well as the various Home Owners’
Associations have some minimum time restrictions on rentals; so be sure to ask your realtor about that before you
purchase.
Most of Indian Wells is on land that is “Fee Simple”. There is a tiny section that is on leased land and your realtor
can also advise you about that.
There are now many year-round residents, but the city truly comes alive beginning November 1st when the country

JOSLYN CENTER – is dedicated to enriching the lives of mature adults 50+ years of age! You can choose from over
