Fine lighting collection
Moroccan Bazaar designs and manufactures authentic traditional
and contemporary contract lighting.
Designed in London, our fine lighting range is hand crafted in our
own specialist work shop in Marrakech by our talented team of
Maalem, Master Craftsmen.
Brass is extensively used in our lighting collection and takes on
many forms.
Once new designs are drawn up, an extensive collaborative stage
commences with our most experienced Maalam.
The fret work pattern is hand drawn by the Maalam zouak and
can take up many different designs, from intricate floral motifs,
geometric designs through to calligraphy typography.
The intricate design is then traced onto paper and forms part of the
template which will be placed onto sheets of solid brass. Only
the thickest brass sheets are used which ensures that our range is
suitable for the contract market.
Tinny jewellers saws are then used to hand pierce out the metal
work in the chosen design which is a painstaking task carried out
by only the most experienced of craftsmen.
